Chapter 1062
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1062:
The alert had come from the detention roomâs security system, but the surveillance footage showed merely seconds of activity. The brief video captured the bodyguards depositing Madisyn on the detention roomâs floor. No sooner had they locked the door behind them than Madisynâs eyes fluttered open.
With deliberate calm, she turned toward the surveillance camera, reached into her pocket, and launched something through the air. In the final frame before darkness, Ailyn caught a glimpse of the projectileâAlbertineâs cherished lollipop.
Rage coursed through Ailyn as she checked the timestamp of the destroyed surveillance feed: hours before the earlier alarm.
Sheâd gravely miscalculated, believing her elaborate precautionsâthe drugs, the alarm system, the posted guardsâwould be enough to contain Madisyn. A chill ran down her spine as she pondered what Madisyn had accomplished in those missing hours between the cameraâs destruction and her escape.
âHead back to the manor! Dr. Mia has escaped!â
Ailyn frantically jabbed at her uncleâs contact, her fingers trembling with urgency. Only silence greeted her repeated attempts, but she didnât have time to find out why.
Nathan whipped the car around, tires squealing against the asphalt as they raced back toward the manor.
Just as they approached the grand entrance gates, a fleet of police cruisers materialized from the darkness, their strobing lights painting the night in harsh blue and red. The piercing beams caught Ailyn and Nathan in their unforgiving glare.

âMiss Vettel, weâve received reports of unlawful detention on these premises.â The officer whoâd given Andrew a ride emerged from his patrol car with purpose, as his fellow officers fanned out in a swift, practiced formation around Ailyn and Nathan.
âOfficer, are you seriously accusing me? Iâm Ailyn Vettel, the heiress of the Vettel family. How could I possibly detain anyone?â Ailynâs voice was sharp, her eyes flashing with irritation.
The officerâs gaze hardened. âThe person who reported the incident is here. Miss Vettel, do you know him?â He stepped aside, and there, emerging from the shadows, was Andrew. His face was unreadable, but the cold fire in his eyes glowing under the headlights sent a shiver through Ailyn.
âAndrewâ¦â she whispered, disbelief twisting in her chest. Seeing him alive was like a punch to the gut. She had thought he was gone for good. Yet now, the man she believed to be dead was standing right in front of her. Her uncle hadnât answered her calls yet, and Andrew was alive. Had something gone wrong with the plan?
Andrewâs eyes locked onto hers, his voice cutting through the tension. âWhere is she?â
Ailynâs heart skipped a beat. This was not how things were supposed to unfold. In her carefully crafted scheme, Andrew and Madisyn were meant to die in an accident, erasing any suspicion about Dr. Miaâs sudden arrival in the family.
But now Andrew was here, and he had brought the police with him.
