Chapter 1083
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1083:
âAnyway, itâs been hard on you, darling. Are there any documents you need to take home? Iâll help you pack.â
Susan listed a few items, and Dane listened attentively before standing, his tall frame moving gracefully toward the desk.
âKnock, knock, knock.â
A knock at the office door drew both Susanâs and Daneâs attention, and Docie stepped in, schedule in hand.
âMiss Riggs, Iâve brought todayâs schedule.â
Docie handed the schedule to Susan, her head tilting slightly as she sneaked a glance at Dane, who stood nearby, observing.
Dane wore a perfectly tailored black suit, a color that might seem dull on others but, with his commanding height and distinguished features, looked exceptionally striking. He stood there with a folder in his long, well-defined fingers.
The light pouring through the floor-to-ceiling windows highlighted his unmatched handsomeness, casting a soft, radiant glow around him.
Docie had heard Kori describe Susanâs fiancé as incredibly handsome. At the time, sheâd nodded, curious but skeptical, questioning if he could surpass a starâs looks. When Docie finally met him, she realized Kori hadnât exaggerated one bit. Susanâs fiancé had striking looks, an impeccable physique, and a magnetic charisma that could easily rival a starâs.
âDocie?â
Daneâs gentle voice carried through the office as he paused what he was doing.
Towering over Docie, Dane glanced down, his long eyelashes catching her attention.

âIâve heard a lot about you from Susan. Iâm her fiancé.â
Dane usually maintained an indifference toward those outside his family, but since Docie was Susanâs student, he made a rare exception to converse with her.
As Dane spoke, Docie couldnât help but notice how exceptionally pleasant his voice was. His unhurried tone added an intriguing layer of mystery to his presence.
âNice to meet you, Mr. Johns.â
Docieâs heart skipped a beat as she quickly looked away, suddenly feeling shy about meeting Daneâs gaze. She noticed the subtle shift in his tone, moving from detached to gentle as he finished speaking.
âMiss Riggs, if the schedule is in order, Iâll take my leave.â
Susan remembered her recent agreement with Dane about working from home. Placing the schedule on her desk, she turned to Docie.
âThe schedule looks fine, Docie. When you step out, please let the chief secretary know there will be a meeting with the department heads in an hour. Iâll be working from home starting today, so some arrangements need to be made. If you run into any issues, feel free to call me or visit me at home.â
âMiss Riggs, youâre working from home?â
Surprised, Docie instinctively glanced at Dane, who was nearby organizing some documents.
