Chapter 1176
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 1176:
âPlease, no thanks needed. I simply followed my heart. I should head backâI promised my family Iâd return by a certain time. You all should go enjoy your celebration.â
After bidding farewell to the group, Madisyn made her way back to the villa she shared with Andrew. Finding him in his study, she eased the door open with a soft touch.
âHoney, still caught up in work?â
As Madisyn approached Andrewâs desk, her eyes caught sight of the screen filled with âFinger Danceâ game code. The sight stopped her dead in her tracks.
Since when did Andrew have access to the gameâs source code? What connection did he have to this game? Did he somehow know what she had asked Jared to do tonight?
Questions swirled through Madisynâs mind like autumn leaves in a storm. Just then, Andrew swiveled in his chair to face her, his eyes meeting hers.
With a hint of guilt coloring her voice, Madisyn said, âHoney, why are you still staring at this so late? Itâs not good for your eyes.â
âMmm.â Andrew gave a slight nod, his elegant fingers dancing across the keyboard briefly before closing the page.
In one fluid motion, he drew Madisyn onto his lap and encircled her waist with his arm.
âOne of my branch companyâs games was hacked. Iâm investigating what happened. Baby, did your plans go smoothly tonight?â
The question made Madisynâs heart skip a beat, and she couldnât bring herself to meet his gaze. Andrew had offered his help before, yet sheâd not only declined but deliberately kept him in the dark. Now it seemed he might have known all along.
Gathering her courage, Madisyn decided to come clean. She placed her delicate hands on Andrewâs shoulders and lowered her gaze before whispering, âHoney, Iâm sorry.â

A subtle flicker passed through Andrewâs dark eyes as he asked with practiced calm, âBaby, what exactly are you apologizing for?â
Madisyn lifted her clear, gentle eyes to study Andrewâs face. His expression held its usual tenderness and patience, but something felt off-kilter. The Andrew she knew wouldnât casually allow her to glimpse his computer screen like this.
Adopting her most endearing tone, Madisyn ventured, âToday, I led some kids to confront someone, and I didnât bring you along.â As the words left her lips, she carefully gauged Andrewâs reaction. He fought back an amused smileâher statement barely qualified as an apology, clearly an attempt to gloss over her real transgression. Their eyes met in silent understanding.
Truth be told, Andrew hadnât been angry to begin with.
Madisynâs attempt to sweet-talk him was already soothing away that inexplicable twinge of annoyance heâd felt earlier.
Still, he tilted her chin up with gentle fingers, his voice rich and deep like melted chocolate.
âSo, have you figured out what you did wrong?â
