Chapter 141
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 141:
It was an acquisition contract! Andrew was acquiring their company!
âMr. Klein, whatâs going on? We could partner with you to generate even greater profits, but an acquisitionâ¦â Elliotâs voice trailed off, his emotions a tangled mix of shock, confusion, and frustration.
âMr. Ruiz, please sign here,â Andrewâs assistant prompted, handing over the pen.
Elliot hesitated, his mind racing. This was the company he had poured his heart and soul into for years. It was thriving, finally at its peak, and now he was expected to hand it over. The thought of losing control over everything he had built made him deeply resistant.
But Elliot knew better than to cross Andrew. Everyone in the industry was aware of Andrewâs ruthless reputation and the consequences of getting on his bad side. Companies that resisted Andrewâs acquisitions were often crushed under his influence, their value plummeting until they were worth nothing. By then, any chance of salvaging anything would be lost.

Agreeing to the acquisition now was the only way to ensure heâd walk away with something, even if it wasnât what he wanted. Knowing he had no other choices, Elliot finally spoke up.
âMr. Klein, may I ask what I did to offend you?â
Andrewâs assistant answered with a dismissive tone, âMr. Ruiz, thereâs no point in asking.â
The assistantâs response lingered in Elliotâs mind, and suddenly, it all clicked. Could this be because of Madisyn and Evie? The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. A single miscalculation had led to the downfall of everything he had worked for.
Eventually, Elliot signed the contract, his hand heavy with resignation. As he gathered his belongings and left the office for the last time, he felt the weight of years bearing down on him, as though he had aged a decade in mere moments.
News of Andrewâs acquisition of Elliotâs company quickly reached Edge Entertainment. Many saw Elliot as simply unlucky, but others began to view Madisyn in a new light. She had managed to navigate a seemingly hopeless situation and turn it into a significant win.
Recognizing her growing clout, another brand soon reached out to Madisyn, eager to collaborate with Evie. After a thorough review, Madisyn gave the green light, and Evie was sent to finalize the deal.
Within just two days, Madisynâs strategic moves yielded remarkable results, making everyone else in the office feel immense pressure. Teresa was particularly frustrated. She and Madisyn had started at the company at the same time, yet Madisyn had outshone her, leaving Teresa feeling insignificant.
A flicker of bitterness crossed her face as she stepped out to make a phone call. âYes, thatâs right. Madisyn is very focused on Evie, even planning to enter her in a singing competition. You know, Evie has a background in music, so if she becomes successful, itâs going to reflect poorly on you as her previous agent. People might start questioning why you didnât do a better job before.â
After delivering her message, Teresa returned to the office with a satisfied smirk. She shot a cold glance at Madisyn before casually applying her lipstick, feeling a sense of twisted pleasure. Perhaps Madisyn didnât know that being too impressive could be a curse. After all, it was always the tallest poppy that got cut first.
Later, as Madisyn left the office, she was unexpectedly confronted by someoneâEvieâs former agent, Larson Welch. His face was flushed with anger. He had been deliberately holding Evie back, trying to keep her under his control. But now, someone else had swooped in, offering her opportunities and threatening his dominance. This was a direct challenge to his authority!
âMadisyn, right? Iâve got a bone to pick with you,â Larson said, his tone laced with arrogance, showing no respect.
âGo ahead,â Madisyn replied, her voice steady and her expression calm, which only seemed to unsettle Larson further.
âWho gave you the right to start finding opportunities for Evie? Did you even think to get my approval first?â he demanded, his frustration barely contained.
âDidnât you tell everyone that Evie wasnât interested in those opportunities? Naturally, I spoke with her, and once she was on board, I did what was necessary. And as for your capabilities, Mr. Welch, shouldnât the higher-ups be made aware?â Madisyn met his gaze without flinching.
Feeling cornered by Madisynâs steady gaze, Larson snapped in frustration, âIâve got my own strategy. Iâm her agent, and from now on, any opportunities you find for her need to go through me first.â
âUnderstood,â Madisyn responded, her tone calm. âIâm planning to enter her in a singing competition. What do you think about that?â
âAbsolutely not!â Larson shot back without hesitation. âHer singing is mediocre at best. Entering her in a competition would only tarnish the companyâs reputation.â
âEven if she doesnât win, the experience and exposure would be valuable. Besides, she doesnât have any more pressing engagements right now, does she?â Madisyn replied evenly.
âDrop it. Stay out of this. Iâve got her future mapped out,â Larson insisted, intent on keeping Madisyn away from Evieâs career decisions.
âUnfortunately, as the person responsible for seeking opportunities for the artists, I have to ensure whatâs best for her,â Madisyn responded, her resolve unshaken.
Larsonâs frustration bubbled over. âMadisyn, do you have to challenge me?â
âIâm focused on whatâs best for the artists,â Madisyn said, holding her ground.
Larson was livid. As the companyâs top agent, he was used to receiving respect from everyone, but Madisynâthis newcomerâwas blatantly defying him. Her attitude was really starting to get under his skin.
âFine,â Larson snapped, his voice dripping with anger. âBut remember thisâif she makes a fool of herself in that competition, thatâs on you!â With that, Larson stormed off, silently plotting his next move.
Madisyn, however, didnât spare him a second thought. Later, as she walked to the parking lot, she spotted Andrewâs familiar luxury car waiting for her. She opened the door, only to find someone unexpected inside.
Evie had been ecstatic when she came here and saw the car earlier. She had exclaimed, âAndrew, you do care about me a lot! I canât believe you came to pick me up yourself. Iâm so touched!â
