Chapter 193
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 193:
An expletive escaped Evieâs lips, but before Kian could respond, a kick sent him flying. He slammed into a pillar and then dropped to the floor. He coughed up blood, his expression one of sheer disbelief as he looked at Evie. Under a distant light, Evie sat, radiating a godlike grace. Her eyes bore down on him with disdain, like she was staring at a bug. âYou still think Iâm a fool, huh? Get lost!â Kian tried to speak, but before he could utter a word, bodyguards hauled him away. They threw him out into the chilly, desolate night.
Sprawled on the frosty ground, Kian watched the grand villaâs gate shut slowly, and the lights inside faded. He remained in a daze, unaware of how much time had passed, until he felt numb all over. He rose and peered inside through the window. Evie was there, dining with others. The four of them together looked like a scene from a beautiful painting, a place many could only dream of. Kianâs eyes welled up with tears. He had been so close to being in that coveted spot, but now⦠It seemed he was destined to only observe Evie from a distance.
Yet, he resolved not to let it end this way. He wouldnât surrender. With his body battered, Kian departed. Back in the main villa, after Kian and the others had gone, the mood lifted once again. Evie sat quietly as she watched Andrew and Madisyn share a tender moment. Dane, meanwhile, ate in silence, a look of slight annoyance in his eyes.
After the meal, Andrew walked Madisyn back to the next villa. Evie, reclining on the sofa, sighed and said, âIâm so envious of Andrew and Madisyn. Dane, their love seems so pure and real. Itâs the first time Iâve seen Andrew like this.â Dane glanced up from his laptop at Evieâs words but remained silent. Evie kept talking to herself. âI wish I could have a boyfriend who loves me as much as that one day. What do you think, Dane?â
Dane replied, âIt sounds nice.â
âWhy is finding love so hard for me?â Suddenly, Evie broke down in tears. Dane kept quiet, at a loss for words. âIâm so envious of Andrew and Madisyn.â After a pause, Dane finally said, âYou donât have to be so envious. They are not married yet.â
âBut Andrew has already promised to marry Madisyn, so isnât it inevitable?â Evie mused, her thoughts wandering. Dane went quiet again. He pondered why everyone in the Klein family seemed so unbearable.

At the gate of the next villa, Andrew admired Madisynâs beautiful, gentle features, his expression softening. âTry to get some rest early,â he said.
âAlright,â Madisyn replied, her smile warm and eyes sparkling as she turned to leave. Andrew watched her go, a sense of emptiness surprising him. As Madisyn reached the gate, she paused, turned around, and approached Andrew. She tiptoed. âMwah!â Madisyn pecked Andrew on the lips quickly.
Andrewâs eyes widened in surprise, and it took him a moment to gather himself. By the time he did, he was watching her back as she walked away. A gentle smile played on his lips, and his eyes sparkled with a touch of amusement.
Madisyn walked into the living room, where many of her colleagues had gathered. Expressions of surprise, guilt, fear, and apprehension filled the room. The truth was clear to all. Teresa was not Mr. Johnsâs real sister. Madisyn was the one!
Overwhelmed by guilt, Liza and some others regretted their past words, wishing they could just vanish. âMadisyn, Iâm so sorry,â Liza said and broke the silence. âWe were misled by Teresa. Iâm truly sorry.â
âYes, Teresa is despicable! She isnât a true member of the Johns family, yet she dared to pose as one. Itâs astounding!â Several of her sycophants joined in, clearly outraged.
Madisyn was mildly entertained by their sudden shift. âIf you werenât so desperate to gain favor, could you have been deceived so easily? Your downfall lies exactly in what you desire.â Shame washed over Liza. Despite her years at the company, she had been fooled by a newcomer. Teresa, hailing from a humble background, had pretended to be a Johns family member, flaunting this false status throughout the company.
HR had just informed Liza and some others that they were being terminated. Moreover, they were ordered to return all kickbacks they had accepted or face legal action by the company. The thought of repercussions had never crossed their minds when accepting kickbacks, but now, they were gripped with fear.
Liza, previously so haughty, now appeared completely humble. She knelt before Madisyn, tears streaming down her face, and said, âMadisyn, I realize my mistakes. Iâm sorry for accepting kickbacks. I donât have enough money right now. Could you possibly speak to Mr. Johns on my behalf? Iâll repay them as soon as I gather the funds.â
âSelling your apartment and car should suffice,â Madisyn responded, her face giving nothing away.
Lizaâs complexion went ashen. âBut I canât sell them immediately.â
âYouâll need to sort that out. After all, werenât those purchases funded by the kickbacks?â Madisyn retorted. Liza felt like she might faint. She had managed to avoid Kristineâs punishment, but escaping Madisynâs proved impossible. The others shared her discomfort. Yet Emeline and Annis were clearly delighted.
