Chapter 209
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 209:
âIf you were in my shoes, would you like yourself?â Madisyn shot back.
Gilbert turned deathly white as he realized he had always taken Madisynâs generosity for granted, never appreciating the sacrifices she made. His hands dropped, and he bowed his head in defeat.
Madisyn then turned and climbed into Daneâs car. Dane didnât inquire about their discussion and simply told the driver to go. The luxury car drove past Gilbert, leaving a puff of exhaust behind.
While on the road, Madisyn got a call from Andrew. They talked about Aidyn and Sherlyn, and then Andrew mentioned, âItâs the weekend tomorrow. Iâll come to see you.â
Madisyn smiled. âSounds good.â
âGot any place in mind youâd like to visit?â
Madisyn paused to think, glanced at Dane, and then texted Andrew, saying, âI came across a fun date idea online. How about we try out a foot massage parlor? What do you think?â
Andrew replied, âThat sounds great.â He added, âIs Dane there with you?â
Madisyn almost burst out laughing at that. Andrew really knew her too well. After finalizing their plans, Madisyn put her phone away, feeling quite content.
When she and Dane got home, Elaine immediately hugged her. âMadisyn, youâve been through so much!â Elaine felt a deep ache. After all the trouble to bring her daughter back, she now had to watch her endure such vicious attacks. Jenna and her family were downright cruel!
Glenn said coldly, âThe Chapman family must disappear.â

Madisyn was taken aback by such harsh words from her usually calm father. She responded, âThe Chapman family is already in deep trouble. Theyâre close to bankruptcy. We donât need to push them further.â
Glenn understood that his daughter didnât want to burden him, but he couldnât suppress his rage. He was determined not to let the Chapman family off easily.
That afternoon, Elaine and Madisyn spent some time together in the garden. Elaine pushed Madisyn on the swing. She was hesitant to see Madisyn leave for Ansport and had become somewhat clingy. Even when her friends invited her to play bridge, Elaine turned them down.
âMom, say yes to them. Iâll come with you,â Madisyn said softly. âI want to see you play bridge.â
Elaine, who usually enjoyed her bridge games, couldnât say no to that. However, the bridge game was more than just casual play. Every conversation among the players was filled with meaning.
When the wealthy ladies saw Madisyn accompanying Elaine, they immediately expressed their sympathy for her. Whenever they spoke of the Chapman family, their words dripped with scorn and contempt.
âThe Chapmans reached out to my husband for a partnership, but donât worry. I wouldnât consider working with them,â one wealthy lady said.
The reason for making friends in high society was that when trouble arose, everyone supported those they were close to. Carly nodded in agreement.
As they started their bridge game, Madisyn sat nearby, observing and scrolling through her phone. Jenna had really caused her own downfall this time. Now, the entire internet was buzzing with her scandal.
âIâve noticed that ever since Madisyn left, the Chapman family has been spiraling downward.â
âIt seems like Madisyn was their good luck charm. Now, the Chapmans must be full of regrets.â
âJenna hasnât even apologized yet!â
âWe should stop supporting the Chapman Group!â
The stock value of the Chapman Group had already dropped drastically. At this pace, the Chapman Group would likely declare bankruptcy within a week.
They must be feeling extremely stressed now. Madisyn had ignored several calls from the Chapman family on her phone. She had no desire to engage with them any longer.
âBy the way, how is Daneâs marriage situation?â one of the wealthy ladies suddenly inquired.
Upon hearing Daneâs name, Madisyn discreetly set her phone aside.
Elaine answered, âHeâs always been very opinionated. Weâre not pushing him.â
âDaneâs almost thirty. Most men his age already have kids. Elaine, youâre quite progressive. Oh, and Josieâs still single, isnât she?â The wealthy lady mentioned Josie.
Carly responded, âYes, Josie has always been so proper and never had a boyfriend.â
âThatâs excellent.â The wealthy lady beamed. âWhy not bring your families together? That would be wonderful!â
Carly glanced at Elaine, clearly agreeing with the idea. âElaine, whatâs your take?â
Elaine smiled faintly and said, âIt really depends on what the kids want. Times have changed. Theyâre individuals with their own personalities. We canât just decide for them as parents.â
âBut if Dane never found a partner, wouldnât that concern you?â the wealthy lady replied. âLet Josie and Dane date. They can take it from there.â
