Chapter 221
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 221:
The secretary at the front desk greeted Madisyn.
Madisyn nodded in response.
âHave you made an appointment?â
âNo, just let him know that Madisyn is here to see him,â Madisyn instructed.
âOkay.â Just as the secretary was about to relay the message, a scornful voice chimed in. âReally, do you think youâre someone important?â
Madisyn turned around to find a familiar faceâit was indeed a small world. Unexpectedly, she encountered Tatiana there. Tatiana and her assistant were seated, apparently waiting.
Tatianaâs assistant was taken aback to see Madisyn here. She remembered Madisynâs presumptuous behavior on the plane and was displeased. She also knew that Tatiana didnât like Madisyn either.
Taking the opportunity, she sneered and said to the secretary, âMr. Cooper is extremely busy. You should really remove this woman quickly before she causes a scene and drags you into trouble.â
The secretary hesitated, assessing Madisyn. While Madisyn was undoubtedly attractive, she wasnât dressed in luxury brands, which made the secretary suspicious of her intentions.
The secretaryâs demeanor turned stern. âMiss, if you donât have an appointment, youâll need to leave.â
âIâve informed Mr. Cooper of my visit. Heâs expecting me,â Madisyn said.
âYouâre so funny. How could you lie like that?â Tatianaâs assistant scoffed loudly. âWho do you think you are? Who is Mr. Cooper to you? Can just anyone meet with him? Are you here to seduce him?â
Her words only solidified the secretaryâs suspicion that there was something amiss with Madisyn. Indeed, not just anyone had the right to see Jared.

âIâm sorry, miss, but youâll need to leave now, or we will have to escort you out,â the secretary said firmly.
âIâm going to wait for Mr. Cooper. You can check with him when he gets out of his meeting,â Madisyn replied, unfazed, knowing the secretary was merely doing her job.
To Madisynâs surprise, the secretary sized her up and scoffed, âAh, youâre quite attractive. Trying to use your looks to charm Mr. Cooper, are you? Unfortunately, he isnât so easily swayed. You should leave now.â
Madisyn didnât expect the secretary would say so. A secretaryâs behavior could reflect on the companyâs image. It appeared Jared was too preoccupied to properly supervise his staff.
Since she was already here, Madisyn thought she might as well address this issue.
âFine, Iâll leave. But you might find yourself having to invite me back soon,â Madisyn retorted, arching an eyebrow.
The secretary scoffed at the idea. âReally? You think you deserve that?â She was, after all, Mr. Cooperâs secretary!
With a knowing glance, Madisyn warned, âJust remember what you said.â She then turned and left.
Tatianaâs assistant sneered again, âSee, she left, tail between her legs.â
Seeing Madisyn go, Tatiana allowed herself a satisfied smile.
They resumed their wait for Jared.
Five minutes later, the elevator doors opened, and Jared stepped out, dressed sharply in a suit.
The secretary was caught off guard. âMr. Cooper, is your meeting over already? Wasnât it supposed to end half an hour later?â
Ignoring her question, Jared scanned the area anxiously, as if searching for someone.
Tatianaâs assistant nudged Tatiana excitedly. âMr. Cooper, are you looking for us?â
The secretary thought so too and quickly chimed in, âMr. Cooper, Miss Fernandez and her assistant are here.â
Tatianaâs heart skipped a beat when Jared looked in their direction. She knew Jared was young, but seeing his striking appearance in person was something else entirely.
âActually, Iâm looking for someone else,â Jared replied, his tone firm.
The atmosphere shifted instantly, and the room felt charged with tension.
Tatianaâs smile faded. âYou meanâ¦?â
âMadisyn.â Jaredâs voice was unyielding as he added, âShe was just here.â
The secretaryâs eyes widened, realizing her mistake. âI didnât knowââ
Jared interrupted her, âWhere is she now?â
âShe left,â the secretary admitted, feeling the weight of his disappointment.
Tatiana couldnât help but feel a twinge of satisfaction. âSee? Just a nobody.â
Jared, however, wasnât interested in Tatianaâs comments. He glanced at her coldly before turning back to the secretary. âI want you to contact Madisyn right now. She needs to be back in this office.â
The urgency in his tone left no room for objections.
Tatiana shifted uncomfortably, realizing she might have underestimated Madisynâs significance in Jaredâs eyes.
âYes, Mr. Cooper,â the secretary replied, hastily reaching for the phone.
As she dialed, the tension in the air thickened, and Tatiana felt increasingly anxious about what the outcome might be.
