Chapter 222
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 222:
To Tatianaâs surprise, Jared was so eager to see Madisyn that he cut his meeting short. It seemed securing the cooperation was a done deal.
Tatiana, twirling a strand of her long hair, spoke in a coy tone. âMr. Cooper, already finished with your meeting?â
Jared gave her a brief glance, his expression unreadable, before he continued scanning the area. He then turned to the secretary. âDid you see a young woman here recently? In her early twenties, very attractive?â

The secretary immediately thought of Madisyn but hesitated, unsure if the woman she had seen was really connected to Jared.
âYes, there was aâ¦â the secretary answered, her voice uncertain.
Jaredâs tone grew more urgent. âWell, where is she?â Knowing that Madisyn had arrived, Jared had wrapped up his meeting early to meet her.
âI thinkâ¦â The secretary hesitated. âShe went out.â
âWhere did she go?â Jared asked, his agitation clear.
Seeing Jaredâs rising frustration, the secretary became even more unsure. âMr. Cooper, are you referring to a woman who has long black hair and is very attractive? But she didnât have an appointment.â
âShe doesnât need an appointment. Just tell me, where did she go?â Jared demanded.
âIâm⦠not sure,â the secretary stammered, her voice trembling with uncertainty.
Irritated, Jared pulled out his phone and called Madisyn. The moment she picked up, he asked, âWhere are you? The companyâs changed a lot since your last visitâdonât get lost.â
Madisynâs tone was cool and measured. âMaybe you should ask your âwonderfulâ secretary. Sheâs the one who sent me away.â
Madisyn relaxed in a nearby café, sipping her coffee as she listened to Jaredâs furious voice. âWhat were you thinking? How dare you drive away my VIP? If she doesnât come back, youâre out of here.â
The secretaryâs face went pale, fear gripping her as she realized the severity of her mistake. Was that woman really Jaredâs friend? She felt a deep pang of regret.
âMr. Cooper, Iâm so sorry. I didnât realize she was your friend. Iâll find her right away,â the secretary said, panic evident in her voice. Securing a position at Homelight Enterprise had been no small feat, and now it was in jeopardy.
But as she rushed downstairs, she was completely at a lossâwhere had Madisyn gone? Fortunately, she soon spotted Madisyn at a nearby café, her elegance making her hard to miss.
âMiss!â The secretary approached her, her demeanor now humble and apologetic. âIâm terribly sorry for the misunderstanding. Could you please come back with me?â
Madisyn tapped her fingers on the table, her expression calm but pointed. âThatâs not what you said earlier.â
âI didnât know you were Mr. Cooperâs esteemed guest. Iâm truly sorry,â the secretary said, her voice trembling with regret.
Madisynâs gaze hardened. âDoes not knowing give you the right to treat people so poorly?â she replied coldly.
âIâm so sorry. I messed up. Please, scold me,â the secretary said.
Madisyn, unaffected by her near-tearful apology, responded coolly. âIf I had been a client today, how much damage would your actions have caused the company? This role clearly isnât a good fit for you. Iâll ask Jared to reassign you to another position.â
The secretary turned pale at her words but found some comfort in the fact that she wasnât being fired. It was a small mercy, especially considering how easily she had trusted Tatianaâs assistant.
Meanwhile, on the top floor, Tatiana and her assistant were equally uneasy. They hadnât expected that the person Jared was so eager to see would actually be Madisyn.
A while later, Jared and Madisyn stepped out of the elevator. Jaredâs warm smile, directed entirely at Madisyn, made Tatianaâs eyes widen in shock.
This was the CEO of Homelight Enterpriseâsomeone others bent over backward to impress. Yet, here he was, clearly going out of his way to please Madisyn.
