Chapter 237
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 237:
It appeared that foolish people were easy to find. After being dropped off at home by Jared, Madisyn discovered the true definition of a fool waiting for her.
At the gate, there was an elegantly wrapped gift box. Upon opening it, she found a stunning dress inside. Wasnât this the same dress she had seen in the store earlier?
As Madisyn stood there, taken aback, a deep, resonant voice came from behind her. âDo you like it? I noticed you were quite taken with it earlier.â Madisyn turned to find Andrew approaching.
âYou bought this?â she asked, her tone tinged with astonishment.
âYes,â Andrew answered, his gaze softening as he looked at her. âI was at the mall too and saw how much you liked the dress.â
âDonât you think itâs excessively pricey?â Madisyn couldnât help but ask.
âAs long as you like it, the price doesnât matter.â It was often said that it was easy to part women from their money, but it appeared men were just as susceptible!
âAlright, thank you,â Madisyn responded, feeling that gratitude was the only appropriate reply.
âWhy do I get the feeling youâre not too pleased?â Andrew asked, arching an eyebrow and studying her closely.
Madisyn paused for a moment, unsure how to respond. She couldnât very well reveal that she was the designer of the dress, could she?
âYes, Iâm pleased. It just seems a bit pricey,â she said sincerely.
Andrew tenderly brushed her hair aside. âI earn money so I can spoil you. As long as it brings you joy, itâs money well spent. Donât worry about it.â
âOkay.â

For Andrew, the expense might be truly trivial.
Madisyn beamed, her eyes twinkling like stars. âTo show my appreciation, why donât I cook dinner for you tonight?â
âSure,â Andrew agreed, his face lighting up with eagerness.
He had never tasted Madisynâs cooking before. However, Madisyn ended up cooking next door with Elaine.
Andrew offered to help in the kitchen, but Madisyn insisted he stay out.
Left with no choice, Andrew settled on the sofa, engaging in conversation with Glenn. âHave some fruit,â Glenn suggested.
âThanks, but Iâll wait for dinner,â Andrew responded courteously.
Glennâs smile held a hint of mischief.
It wasnât long before Andrew realized why Glenn had grinned so knowingly.
When Elaine and Madisyn brought out the meticulously prepared meal, Andrew praised, âI had no idea you were such a fine cook, Mr. Johns.â
âWell, I like to cook when I have some free time, and my family seems to enjoy it. Try some,â Elaine encouraged warmly.
Andrew took a bite, and his expression froze unexpectedly.
Madisyn glanced at Andrew helplessly, well aware of what had happened. She had assisted Elaine in the kitchen, but when her back was turned, Elaine had taken the liberty of seasoning the dish.
âHow does it taste?â Elaine inquired, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Meanwhile, Glenn casually sipped his juice at the table.
âItâs good,â Andrew said, keeping his expression neutral.
âIf you like it, help yourself to more. Is this the first time youâre trying my cooking?â Elaine asked warmly.
âYes,â Andrew answered.
âJust let me know what you like, and Iâll cook it for you,â Elaine said, her voice filled with warmth.
âThank you, Mrs. Johns.â
Madisyn also sampled the dish. It was rather bland, yet a significant improvement over Elaineâs past culinary attemptsâit was at least edible.
Throughout the meal, Elaine continued to heap more food onto everyoneâs plates, herself eating sparingly and mostly just enjoying her soup.
Glenn appeared to be eating leisurely, seemingly consuming a lot, but in reality, he barely ate anything. Andrew now realized why Glenn had recommended having some fruit before the mealâit had indeed been a prudent suggestion.
After they finished eating, Andrew and Glenn took on the task of washing the dishes.
Elaine observed them with a joyful expression. âItâs wonderful to see the house so lively. Madisyn, you should have Andrew visit more often if heâs free.â
âOkay,â Madisyn responded with a smile.
âAlso, Hutton will arrive tomorrow. Madisyn, would you like to join us at your uncleâs home?â Elaine added.
âIs he going to visit Uncle Rowanâs home?â Madisyn asked.
Elaine nodded affirmatively. âYes, how about you join us and meet Hutton?â
Madisyn was aware that Elaine wanted her to broaden her social circle. What Elaine didnât realize was that Madisyn already knew Hutton quite well. Nevertheless, Madisyn agreed compliantly.
The following day, Madisyn went with her family to Rowanâs residence.
Only upon arriving did she understand the importance Rowanâs family placed on Huttonâs visitâthe home was adorned with antiques, giving it a distinguished and classical vibe.
Courtney was there too, dressed elegantly in a vintage gown. She looked extremely elegant, clearly having put a lot of effort into her appearance. Madisyn sat quietly, somewhat irritated.
It was obvious how much Rowan and his family esteemed Hutton, yet it was equally apparent they didnât hold Glenn in similar regard. This only deepened Madisynâs dislike for Rowan and his family.
âWhen will Hutton be here?â Rowan asked.
âHe should arrive before noon,â Glenn responded, checking the time. âThereâs no rush; itâs still early.â
âAlright then.â
Elaine felt bored and asked Madisyn to accompany her for a walk outside.
The surrounding woods were beautifully green. They had just stepped out when Hutton arrived.
