Chapter 240
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 240:
Elaine had always had an issue with this family. Realizing she had misspoken, Sarai quickly said, âI didnât mean it like that. Itâs just that everyone knows what kind of person Andrew is. Heâs likely to choose a girl from a wealthy background. Madisyn has only recently returnedâ¦â
âAre you implying that Madisyn, coming back from a rural area, isnât a match for Andrew? Let me be clear: Madisyn is wonderful. Moreover, Andrew treats her very well. He even bought us the houses we are currently staying in. He wonât marry Courtney!â Elaine retorted sharply.
Rowan attempted to calm the situation, saying, âElaine, please donât be upset. We didnât mean it like thatâ¦â
âWeâve done all we needed to. Letâs leave,â Elaine said, then turned and walked out.
Glenn gave Rowan and his family a meaningful look before departing as well. Once they were in the car, Elaine expressed her frustration, saying, âYour brother and his family have crossed the line!â Why did Sarai hesitate to speak when Kristine was around but feel free to speak after Madisyn returned? Was she suggesting that Madisyn wasnât as worthy as Kristine?
Glenn remained silent, unusually so. He too felt that his brother had overstepped this time.
Madisyn said calmly, âMom, donât let it get to you. The more they underestimate us, the more weâll prove them wrong. They want us to be angry.â
Seeing Madisyn so composed and beautiful, Elaine embraced her and said, âOkay, as long as Iâm with my daughter, nothing else matters, sweetheart.â Madisyn smiled shyly.
She then sent a message to Hutton, deciding to become his student. With her uncleâs family showing such arrogance, she decided it was time to stop holding back.
Soon, Glenn received a message from Hutton, saying, âMr. Johns, get ready to attend my new student introduction banquet.â Glenn was taken aback. Had Hutton really agreed to take Courtney as his student? Despite his grievances with his brotherâs family, Glenn had to acknowledge Courtneyâs talent. He immediately told the good news to Rowan.
At Rowanâs residence, Sarai scoffed, âElaineâs claim is so absurd. Does she really think weâll fall for such an obvious lie?â
Rowan was uncertain, saying, âBut I donât think sheâs lying.â
âDo you honestly believe that Andrew has fallen for Madisyn?â Sarai questioned.
Rowan replied, âMadisyn truly is beautiful.â
This was undeniable. Sarai glared at Rowan sharply and retorted, âYouâre being naive! Beauty is trivial. Do you think someone of Andrewâs stature hasnât encountered more beautiful women before? Itâs character that counts most to men like him!â
Rowan sighed, feeling defeated. Just then, he received the good news from Glenn. âHutton has agreed to take Courtney as his student!â
âReally?â Sarai rushed over to see the message and was thrilled. âOh my God, I knew Courtney would succeed.â Courtney, overhearing this, swelled with pride. She then inquired, âHas Madisyn been accepted as well?â
Sarai grinned and said, âHow would Hutton be willing to accept her as his student? Donât worry, Courtney!â Courtney was brimming with confidence and pride. She eagerly shared the news with her friends. Her friends, also in the art community, were envious of her. They all knew of Huttonâs prestige in the art world and were jealous of Courtneyâs opportunity. They all voiced their desire to attend the new student introduction banquet to meet Hutton.
Amidst their worship, Courtney agreed to their requests. Sarai, struck by a thought, suggested, âLetâs invite the Klein family to the banquet. Itâll be the perfect opportunity to showcase Courtneyâs talents.â
âSure.â Rowan nodded.
The moon appeared to dangle from the tree branches. Soon, the sun slowly ascended. A new day began.
Madisyn wrapped up her work early that day and received a call from Andrew. âSweetheart, are you done with work?â
âYou called just in time. Iâve just finished,â Madisyn replied with a smile.
Andrew also smiled and said, âGreat. Would you like to come over? Iâll take you out for dinner after finishing work myself.â
They had been dining at home recently, and Andrew wanted a change today.
âOkay.â
Madisyn then headed for Klein Group. Their companies were both located in the city center, so she got there quickly.
When Madisyn reached the ground floor of Klein Group, someone approached her and asked, âAre you Miss Johns?â
âYes.â
âMiss Johns, please follow me.â The secretary courteously guided Madisyn to the CEOâs office. She knocked on the door and soon heard someone saying, âPlease, come in.â
Madisyn entered the office. The spacious office was styled in a subdued, retro gray, exuding quiet luxury and elegance.
Madisyn said, âYour office is quite stylish.â
âIf you like it, why not work with me here?â Andrew looked at Madisyn warmly.
Madisyn shrugged. âNo, thank you. How long do you need?â
âAbout twenty minutes. Take a seat.â
Madisyn settled comfortably on the sofa and noticed several imported snacks on the coffee table, all her favorites.
âI didnât know you kept snacks in your office,â Madisyn commented.
âI had my assistant prepare them for you. If you like them, I can always ask him to get more,â Andrew said.
