Chapter 255
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 255:
Tatiana narrowed her eyes suspiciously. âIs she seriously planning to give Mr. Damari Klein that landscape painting?â
Courtney couldnât contain her laughter. âOh my goodness. I canât believe how foolish she is. Mr. Damari Klein can definitely tell it is a fake.â
Tatiana glanced at Courtney and said, âThis is a golden opportunity for you. Madisyn is so clueless that she canât even tell if a painting is real or fake. In comparison, Mr. Damari Klein will undoubtedly see you as the smarter, more genuine one.â
Courtney mulled over what Tatiana had said but remained silent.
After leaving the market, Madisyn and Andrew decided to have dinner together before heading back home. Once she was back in her bedroom, Madisyn carefully opened the landscape painting. The ancient piece held an inexplicable air of mystery, as if it contained secrets within its brushstrokes.
After staring at it for a while, Madisyn began working. She knew she couldnât possibly give such a worn-out gift to Damari, even if it was real. When she first saw it at the street stall, she instantly recognized its authenticity. But the seller didnât seem to care, completely unaware that it was a genuine antique.
She realized sheâd been incredibly lucky to stumble upon it. However, she knew it needed some restoration before she could present it to Damari. The light in her bedroom stayed on until the early hours of the next morning as she worked tirelessly to make the painting worthy of being a gift. Finally, exhaustion took over, and Madisyn drifted off to sleep. She and her family had planned to visit Damari around noon for lunch.
At eleven oâclock, her alarm jolted her awake. After freshening up, she left the house with her parents. The Klein familyâs ancestral home was located in a secluded area, far from the city. After a lengthy drive, they finally reached the base of a mountain. Madisyn admired the breathtaking scenery, noticing the Klein familyâs mansion in the distance, resembling a castle hidden in the forest.
With just one glance, she could tell this was an exceptional location, perfect for such a grand estate. Wealthy families always seemed to have homes in the most ideal locations.
âHow much longer until we get there?â Madisyn asked.
âWeâve already arrived. This entire mountain is owned by the Klein family,â Glenn explained. âItâll take us another ten minutes or so to drive up to the gate.â
She was left utterly speechless. In other words, the moment they drove onto the mountain, they were already on the Klein familyâs property. It was no surprise that people disliked the wealthy; she felt the same way.
At last, they reached the gate of the Klein familyâs estate. After parking, they stepped out of the car and made their way into the grand living room. Laughter and familiar voices reached their ears.
âMr. Klein, itâs been such a long time since we last met! You look fantastic, and I must say, Iâm a little jealous,â Saraiâs voice rang out.
The normally stern and composed Sarai was now laughing cheerfully in front of Damari. Even Rowan and Courtney were smiling, a stark contrast to their usual haughty and self-important expressions. What a group of hypocritical artists!
Madisyn looked at them and felt even more repulsed. Rowan and his family had a knack for putting on a show. It was no wonder her grandfather didnât care much for them.
âGlenn, youâve finally arrived,â Rowan exclaimed as he stood up to greet them. âBut didnât we agree to arrive at ten oâclock? Why are you here now at eleven?â
What was he talking about? Madisyn and her parents exchanged puzzled looks, clearly confused by Rowanâs comment. Noticing their confusion, Rowan turned to Sarai and asked, âWait, whatâs going on? Didnât we plan to visit Mr. Klein at ten?â
Madisyn and her parents understood exactly what was happening. It was clear that Sarai had misled Rowan about the timing of their visit.
Glenn responded coolly, âIs that so? It sounds like maybe your wife made a mistake.â
After embarrassing Sarai, Glenn turned to Damari and greeted him warmly, âMr. Klein, itâs been a while. How have you been?â
Damari looked at Glenn with a hearty laugh and replied, âIâm doing well. How about yourself?â
âIâm good too. Iâve been staying in Ansport lately, so I made it a point to visit you. And by the way, this is my daughter, Madisyn,â Glenn said, introducing Madisyn to Damari.
Madisyn stepped up gracefully, offering a warm smile. Her voice was soft and pleasant as she said, âItâs a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Klein.â
Damari examined her carefully. Being a man of high status, he was accustomed to people trying to win his favor, like Rowan and his family, who always seemed pretentious and unable to hide their flattery. On the other hand, Madisynâs gaze was clear and genuine, neither obsequious nor overbearing. She stood out as more sincere compared to Rowan and his family. Damari nodded with satisfaction, thinking to himself that Andrew clearly had good taste.
âIt must have been challenging to find your daughter back, Glenn. Iâve heard sheâs had quite a difficult time out there over the years. Please, have a seat,â Damari said kindly. Madisyn and her parents took their seats beside Damari. Rowan and his family were left to the side, quickly disregarded. Courtneyâs smile faltered, and her eyes grew cold. She felt justified in her resentment toward Madisyn and her parents. Their presence had immediately drawn Damariâs attention away.
