Chapter 264
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 264:
Rowan and Sarai left. Bruno watched Madisyn for a moment before departing with his wife.
âMadisyn is not a simple woman,â Dora remarked.
Bruno nodded and replied, âYes. Madisyn knew there werenât any cameras at home, but she mentioned them deliberately. It was foolish of Courtney to fall for that so easily.â
At the time, he intended to hint to Courtney that there were no cameras, but he hadnât anticipated that Andrew would play along with Madisyn and confirm the presence of surveillance in the manor. Their united front caught Courtney off guard, leading her to give up on her accusations.
Idiot!
âBut such fools are easy to manipulate,â Dora said with a smile. âNow, we donât even have to lift a finger to stop Madisyn from marrying Andrew.â
âHoney, weâre on the same page,â Bruno responded, embracing her with a smile. As long as Madisyn didnât marry Andrew, the future leader of the Klein family might very well be their son. But if Madisyn and Andrew were to marry, Andrew would undoubtedly be the future leader.
In the living room, Damari expressed his sympathy, saying, âMadisyn, youâve been wronged. I never imagined your cousin would stoop so low.â
âMr. Klein, donât worry about it,â Madisyn replied calmly, genuinely unfazed. Damari was impressed by her composure. As he held Madisynâs hand, she suddenly felt his pulse under her fingertips. She looked at Damari, startled.
âMadisyn, whatâs wrong?â Damari inquired.
Madisyn hesitated and then said, âNothing. Mr. Klein, please take care of yourself.â
âHa-ha, donât worry. Since Iâm not busy these days, Iâm sleeping quite well,â Damari said with a smile. He was quite fond of Madisyn and invited her to stay for dinner before she left.
After dinner, Madisyn climbed into the car with her parents. Elaine immediately turned to Glenn and asked, âWhat do you think we should do now?â She looked intently at him.
Glenn felt a mix of helplessness and bitterness, but his expression remained stern and determined. âI need to have a serious discussion with Rowan.â
âWe canât just let this slide!â Elaine stated firmly.
Glenn nodded. He knew that both he and his wife had been incredibly patient with Rowan and his family, but that patience had its limits. He couldnât believe Courtney had attempted to frame Madisyn. He was resolved not to let her get away with it. Observing her parents, Madisyn realized she was unexpectedly the one with the least worries at the moment. She didnât have to do anything; her family was ready to defend her.
With a slight smile, she pulled out her phone and texted Andrew, asking, âIs your grandfather not feeling well?â Andrew immediately responded, âHow did you know?â
Madisyn replied, âI can tell. Is it a heart problem?â
Andrew let out a sigh. âWow, you can even spot that.â Madisyn explained, âIâve picked up a few things about medicine.â She realized that Damariâs health issue must be complex. If not, with his resources, he certainly would have secured the best medical treatment available.
Madisyn got Damariâs medical records from Andrew. Checking his condition, Madisyn was lost in thought. It was not a fatal disease, but the specific medicine for this condition was very rare now. It seemed she needed to find a solution.
The silence of the night was shattered by loud crashes at Rowanâs residence. After arriving home, Courtney violently destroyed anything within reach. She had never felt such humiliation in her life.
Sarai, feeling pity for her daughter, tried to intervene, saying, âCourtney, please stop⦠Thatâs your fatherâs favorite vase!â
âBang!â
The vase shattered. Courtney, overtaken by rage, continued to break everything in sight. Then, a sharp slap halted her. Stunned, Courtney fell to the floor, her frenzied expression freezing as she slowly looked up at Rowan. Rowan had slapped her!
Tears poured down Courtneyâs cheeks.
Sarai was shocked. âHoney, what are you doing? Our daughter was the victim here!â
Rowan stared at his wife incredulously. âAre you serious? She was the victim? If she hadnât tried to frame Madisyn, she wouldnât have embarrassed herself. Donât you see? Those who intend harm only end up harming themselves. Isnât that obvious?â
