Chapter 293
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 293:
Andrew stopped Madisyn and spread a mat on the grass. âThere might be bugs in the grass.â
âHmm.â Madisyn gave him a curious look. âYou came prepared?â
âAlways,â he replied with a grin.
They both stretched out on the mat. It had been ages since Madisyn had simply lain back and stared at the sky. The vast blue canvas above was captivating, with clouds drifting leisurely by, filling her with a sense of calm and tranquility.
After a while, they continued their stroll through the park. Being newly established, the park was nearly deserted. They walked for quite some time without spotting another soul. âIs this place that remote? Why am I not seeing anyone else around?â Madisyn asked, puzzled.
âItâs not remote, just newly built. Only invited guests are allowed in, so itâs quite exclusive,â Andrew explained.
Madisyn quickly caught on. An exclusive park? But the luxury of it all didnât concern her. As they wandered deeper into the park, she marveled at how perfectly everything matched her tastes. Unable to contain her delight, she blurted out, âAndrew, I absolutely love this place.â
âThen come here often. You can even camp out if you want,â Andrew suggested with a smile.
As they ventured further, Madisyn realized the park was far bigger than she had imagined. There was a forest, a swing, and most importantly, the place was pristineâno overgrown weeds or pesky mosquitoes like in other parks.
By noon, Andrew had arranged for some supplies to be delivered for a barbecue. They started grilling lamb skewers, laughing and enjoying each otherâs company. Madisyn relished the rare and precious peace.

As dusk set in, casting fiery hues across the sky, Andrew glanced at Madisyn. âWe should head back. There are more bugs at night, but once all the facilities are finished, we can spend the night here.â
Reluctantly, Madisyn agreed, and they made their way out of the park and went home.
Unbeknownst to them, a car was parked near their villas, and its occupants were watching their every move.
âDid you see that?â Courtney looked over at Jenna, whose eyes were fixed on Madisyn with simmering hatred. Courtney smirked, satisfied that Tatianaâs intel had been accurate. It seemed Jenna indeed harbored a grudge against Madisyn even stronger than her own.
âYes, I saw,â Jenna replied, her voice dripping with bitterness.
âHer life is perfect.â
âOf course. Sheâs a Johns and now Andrewâs girlfriend. At this rate, sheâll marry Andrew, adored and envied by everyone,â Courtney said, painting a vivid picture of Madisynâs seemingly perfect future.
Jenna envisioned a world where Madisyn was celebrated while she remained a shadowy, despised figure. The thought was infuriating. âHow did it come to this? She had occupied my place for years, leaving me to struggle, and now sheâs living this flawless life. Why does everything always work out for her?â Jennaâs voice trembled with hatred.
Courtney sighed, âWhether itâs luck or fate, thatâs just how it is. And sheâs only going to keep rising. I genuinely sympathize with what youâve been through, which is why I invested in your familyâs company. But despite my help, your family is still on the brink.â
Jennaâs eyes widened in shock. The idea of her family going bankrupt was unbearable. Sheâd be forced back into her old, miserable life, mocked and scorned by everyone around her. She looked at Courtneyâs designer clothes and the sleek Maserati she droveâa world of luxury Jenna could only dream of. Realizing Courtneyâs influence, she asked, âYouâve helped me a lot. You wonât let my family fall apart, will you?â
âI donât want to see that happen, and I really do feel sorry for you. But my resources are stretched thin. If it werenât for Madisyn⦠I might have been able to do more to keep your family afloat,â Courtney said, her voice heavy with regret.
âMadisyn? What did she do?â Jenna asked, clearly baffled.
âLet me be clear. Iâm Madisynâs cousin. The Johns Group used to give my family a dividend every year, but after Madisyn came back, they cut us off. The money I invested in your familyâs company was from my personal funds. Thereâs nothing left to give.â
âWhy would she do that?â
âBecause she thinks we donât contribute to the company and donât deserve the dividend,â Courtney explained, frustration in her tone.
âBut youâre part of the Johns family!â
âThatâs true, but to her, itâs all about profit. My father had to join the Johns Group to fight for its leadership, but heâs not one for conflicts. I doubt heâll outmaneuver Glenn unless something drastic happens to Glennâs family and he gets distracted. Only then might my father have a shot at taking control,â Courtney said softly.
Jennaâs mind raced with possibilities. If something were to happen to Madisyn⦠The thought was unsettling. But if she killed Madisyn, she would have to go to jail!
âJenna, I need your help,â Courtney said urgently, gripping her hand. âI know you hate Madisyn as much as I do. If you assist me, and my father manages to take control, I promise Iâll make sure your family is taken care of.â
