Chapter 294
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 294:
As Jenna met Courtneyâs eyes, a thought sparked in her mind, growing more powerful with each passing second. âIâll figure something out,â Jenna whispered.
âNo need; Iâve already found a way. Jenna, I know what youâre thinking, and Iâm here to help you,â Courtney said, her gaze steady and sincere.
Her reassuring look gave Jenna the confidence she needed. Yes, if they didnât remove Madisyn from the picture, their lives would be nothing short of a nightmare. With newfound determination, Jenna nodded firmly.
Madisyn had no inkling that these two were plotting against her. She had enjoyed a relaxing day and went to bed early, drifting into a deep, peaceful sleep.
The next morning, she paid a visit to Susanâs grandfather, Erick Bowers, who was recovering well and had just woken up. When Erick learned that Madisyn had arranged for his surgery, he was deeply appreciative.
âSo, youâre Madisyn. Susan talks about you often,â he said warmly. âI knew your grandfather, Nolan. We used to play chess together!â
âReally? I had no idea that you knew my grandfather!â Madisynâs eyes widened in surprise.
âOf course! Your grandfather was a legendâeveryone knew him,â Erick replied with a smile.
Hearing her grandfatherâs name stirred something deep within Madisyn. Though she had never met him, his legacy was powerful, and she could feel the admiration people had for him.
âMr. Bowers, just continue to rest and stick to a light diet, then youâll be fine,â Madisyn advised.

âI will, thank you.â Erick smiled, then turned to his granddaughter with a gentle look. âSusan, youâve got a good friend. That puts my mind at ease.â
âYes, sheâs been wonderful to me,â Susan said, her eyes glistening with emotion. âGrandpa, you have to promise me youâll live a long, healthy life.â
âI intend to,â Erick replied, his voice full of warmth.
As Madisyn watched the heartfelt exchange between Susan and her grandfather, a sense of calm washed over her. Despite the tensions between Susan and her father, it was clear that her grandfatherâs love and support were steadfast.
Madisyn lingered at the hospital until after lunch before finally heading back to work. On her drive, a sense of unease began to creep in. Glancing in the rearview mirror, she noticed a car following her.
Madisynâs eyes narrowed. Was someone tailing her? But who could it be and why? She quickly scanned her mind for her enemies in Gemond or Ansport, but couldnât quite determine who it might be.
Without missing a beat, she pressed down on the gas. Her luxury car roared through the traffic, expertly maneuvering between vehicles. Startled drivers and pedestrians turned their heads, one even leaning out of his car window, shouting, âIs that for a movie?â
In no time, Madisyn shook off her pursuer and arrived at Edge Entertainment, ready to start her workday.
In the midst of a busy afternoon, Madisynâs phone rangâit was Jared. âBoss, Iâve got some information on the matter you asked me to look into.â
âIs it about Damari?â Madisyn asked, her attention sharpening.
âExactly. Thereâs a lab thatâs been developing a medication specifically for his condition. Theyâve been at it for years, but itâs still incomplete. Interestingly, they even tried to bring you on board as a consultant,â Jared explained. âIâve heard that the drug is eighty percent complete. Only the final, crucial step remains. This medication could be a game-changer for Damariâs heart condition.â
This was the breakthrough Madisyn had been waiting for.
âPerfect. Send me the labâs name,â she said.
A few moments later, the labâs name popped up on her screenâit was located in Ansport. Without hesitation, Madisyn sent an email to the lab under her alias, Mia.
It didnât take long for a reply to arrive.
âAre you really Dr. Mia? Weâve been hoping you would join our research! When can you come? Iâll arrange a meeting with our boss!â The enthusiasm in the response was palpable.
Madisyn quickly typed back, âHow about today?â
âGreat! Iâll send you the contact details for our boss. Heâll get in touch with you today. See you soon!â
âAlright,â Madisyn replied quickly.
Not long after, Madisyn received a call from the labâs boss. âHello?â
The voice on the other end was deep and magnetic. For a moment, Madisyn hesitatedâthere was something oddly familiar about it. She quickly dismissed the thought. There was no way Andrew could be the boss of a lab.
âHello,â Madisyn responded, slightly adjusting her voice. âThis is Mia. Iâm interested in joining your lab, but I have one condition: I need to take one dose of the medication with me once the work is complete.â
âThat wonât be a problem. Letâs set up a meeting.â The boss agreed without hesitation.
âSure!â Madisyn agreed.
They quickly arranged a time and place to meet. Madisyn was impressed with the efficiency of her new partner. After work, she changed into something more casual and headed to the restaurant where they had agreed to meet. When she arrived, she noticed someone already seated in the private dining room.
The man sat quietly, sipping coffee, exuding an air of effortless nobility. Madisyn stopped in her tracks, stunned. Had she walked into the wrong place? It was Andrew!
