Chapter 338
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 338:
Dora asked, âAre you certain the baby Courtneyâs carrying is Andrewâs?â
âAbsolutely. Courtney slept with Andrew!â Sarai replied without hesitation.
Dora exhaled, a sly glint in her eyes. âI have a better idea. Want to hear it?â
âGo ahead,â Sarai said, intrigued.
As Dora revealed her plan, both Sarai and Courtney were stunned. âIs that really necessary?â Sarai questioned.
âIt is our backup plan. If Andrew insists on denying it, weâll use this. Donât worryâhis grandfather has a strong sense of justice. Heâll make sure everythingâs handled fairly,â Dora replied calmly.
Sarai sighed. âOkay, I understand.â She set down the phone, still feeling uneasy. The lengths these powerful families would go to were beyond anything she had ever imagined.
âMom, I still want to keep the baby,â Courtney said softly.
âDidnât you hear? This is just a backup plan. As long as Andrew acknowledges the child, you wonât have to consider anything drastic,â Sarai reassured her.
Courtney bit her lip, then suddenly thought of Madisyn. She quickly dialed her number, a sly smile forming on her face. âMadisyn, are you busy? Iâm coming over,â Courtney said, her tone upbeat.
As soon as Andrew left Klein Manor, he called Madisyn. âI know who the pregnant woman is. Itâs just as I expected.â
Madisynâs voice held a note of curiosity. âYou donât have to tell me. I already know.â
âHow did you find out?â Andrew asked, surprised.
âShe called me,â Madisyn replied.
Courtneyâs arrogant tone had made it clear who the pregnant woman was; there was no doubt in Madisynâs mind.
âWell, her child isnât mine,â Andrew stated firmly.
âThen why does she believe it is?â Madisyn questioned, her curiosity piqued.
âI entered the room, but I got out of there quickly,â Andrew clarified. âIâm the one who slept with her.â
Madisyn pieced it togetherâAndrew had set Courtney up on purpose. His methods were ruthless and direct.
âIn my view, Courtney isnât smart enough to have planned this on her own,â Andrew continued. âCorbettâs mother was also there when I arrived at Klein Manor, backing her up the whole time.â
A realization hit Madisyn. âSo theyâre working together?â
âExactly. If theyâre trying to drag me down, theyâre going to pay for it.â Andrewâs voice was cold and cutting.
Madisyn couldnât help but admire his strategy. He was letting them bask in their false victory, only to reveal the truth when they were at their highest, watching them plummet into despair.
After the call ended, Courtney arrived, eager to gloat. She wasted no time, slamming a piece of paper on the desk in front of Madisyn. Without looking up, Madisyn continued her work.
Courtneyâs eyes narrowed as she waited for a reaction. âArenât you curious about who the father of my child is?â she asked, pride dripping from her words.
âWhat? Am I the father?â Madisyn retorted dryly.
Courtney was momentarily speechless. She had expected Madisyn to be rattled, but instead, she was met with calm indifference. Staring hard at Madisyn, she leaned in and said slowly, âItâs Andrew.â
Her eyes narrowed as she searched Madisynâs face for any sign of distress.
But Madisynâs expression remained infuriatingly calm, a wall of indifference.
Desperation creeping into her voice, Courtney repeated, âItâs Andrewâs child!â
âI heard you the first time,â Madisyn replied, her voice cool and detached.
Courtneyâs smile faded into a frown. âWhy arenât you reacting? Whatâs the matter? Are you and Andrew not together anymore?â
Madisyn finally looked up, her gaze piercing. âAnd why should I take your word for it?â
Courtney smirked. âMadisyn, youâve been deceived by Andrew. I can swear this child is his. We had sex right after your car accident. He doesnât care for you as much as you think. Donât be a fool.â
Madisynâs eyes darkened. âYou think I should believe you? The same person who tried to have me killed?â
Courtney faltered. âIâm just letting you know that Iâm carrying Andrewâs child, his firstborn!â
Madisyn leaned back in her chair, her expression unbothered. âAnd you think thatâs something to be proud of? Even if the child is Andrewâs, itâs still illegitimate. Has he even promised to marry you?â
Courtney wasnât worried about that. âThis is his first child. He wonât deny it. And if he tries, his grandfather will make sure he acknowledges it.â
With a smug look, Courtney added, âMadisyn, you should step aside while you still can. Iâm going to marry Andrew. If you walk away now, it wonât have to get messy.â
