Chapter 346
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 346:
âMy familyâs affairs are none of your business. At least Susan is kind-hearted and sensible, unlike some malicious people who might destroy a whole family,â Madisyn said, her smile barely present.
Josie realized Madisyn was implying that she was malicious. She couldnât stand it but dared not fight back. If Madisyn was serious about pairing Susan with Dane, Josie would be out of luck!
Josie shot back a glare at Madisyn and Susan, then turned and left. It was clear she needed a new strategy.
As she moved forward, Josie noticed Estebanâs car hadnât left. The window was down, revealing Estebanâs stern, unsmiling face. Taking a deep breath, Josie approached him. âMr. Riggs, why are you still here?â
Estebanâs expression didnât change. He had heard everything the three women had talked about. âDonât even think about collaborating with my company,â he said coldly.
Josieâs face fell. âMr. Riggs, why?â Before she could say more, Esteban rolled up the window, and his luxury car drove off, leaving a cloud of exhaust. She stood frozen for a long while. Slowly, she tightened her grip on her bag. With the cooperation gone, she had to redouble her efforts to win over Dane!
When Madisyn and her friends returned to their car, Evie exclaimed, âWhat is wrong with Josie? I canât believe sheâs still not backing down!â
âBy the way, Madisyn, is Susan Daneâs girlfriend?â Evie asked curiously. Madisyn nodded.
Evie expressed her astonishment, saying, âI never thought Dane would date someone!â
Susan appeared a little shy. Seeing her reaction, Evie sighed and said, âSeems no man can resist a beautiful woman!â
Madisyn smiled and said, âStop, or Susan might jump out of the car.â
Evie responded, âI didnât mean any harm!â
They all went home. As Madisyn neared her parentsâ house, she saw the lights were still on. Earlier, she had explained things to her parents, but she felt concerned they might still be upset.
Approaching the door, she suddenly heard a loud slap coming from inside.
Madisyn was stunned and quickly opened the door.
Inside the living room, she saw not only Elaine and Glenn but also Sarai and Courtney.
Elaine had just slapped Courtney.
âWhat is wrong with you, Elaine? How could you strike my daughter?â Sarai shouted, glaring at Elaine.
Elaine sneered, âSarai, youâre vile. We were lenient with you before, and this is how you repay usâby trying to steal my daughterâs boyfriend? You have no heart. We should have had your daughter arrested when we had the chance!â
A flicker of shame crossed Saraiâs face, but she dismissed it quickly. âSo what? If my daughter goes to jail, sheâs still carrying Andrewâs child. Heâll make sure she gets what she deserves. Youâre just envious. You think everyone loves Madisyn, but you know what? Andrew loves my daughter!â Saraiâs tone grew increasingly triumphant.
Despite the slap, Courtney wore a smug smile, staring down Elaine with a defiant and cold look. Once she married Andrew, she planned to settle scoresâshe would pay back that slap a hundredfold.
âMadisyn,â Elaine turned to her daughter, concern in her eyes.
Madisyn took her motherâs hand gently and reassured her, saying, âIâm okay. Theyâre fooling themselves. Donât let them get to you.â
âFooling ourselves? The child Courtney is carrying is very real,â Sarai snapped, implying Madisyn was in denial due to her distress. She continued, âMadisyn, I suggest you step aside and end things with Andrew. Courtney is going to be his wife. Damari has already accepted the child.â
âLet them marry if they can,â Madisyn said calmly.
Sarai squinted at her. âSo, youâre not leaving Andrew?â
Madisyn smiled and met her gaze. âIt seems youâre the one lacking confidence. Youâre afraid Andrew wonât marry Courtney if I donât step away.â
âCourtney is carrying Andrewâs baby. Heâs going to marry her!â
âYour trump card is this baby, but are you certain itâs Andrewâs? Even if it is, what will you do if Andrew doesnât accept it?â Madisyn responded calmly.
Saraiâs expression turned grim. She had hoped Madisyn would be flustered, but instead, she was full of confidence.
Madisyn had made a valid pointâif Andrew denied the child, Courtney would be powerless.
They might consider leveraging public sentiment to sway Andrew, but what if he remained indifferent?
âLeave within a minute, and never come back!â Madisyn said, her voice icy and authoritative. Sarai and Courtney shuddered under the severity of her tone.
