Chapter 369

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 369:

This hair tie was once taken off from Madisyn’s head—Andrew had kept it, waiting for the perfect moment to return it when Madisyn needed it again.

“It’s just a hair tie. Surely Madisyn wouldn’t be that stingy, right?” Wesley shrugged as he spoke.

In front of so many people, if Madisyn refused, she risked upsetting the entire group. Yet, her expression remained neutral.

Andrew’s gaze turned cold.

Before he could say anything, Jada intervened. “Wesley, that’s uncalled for. A girlfriend’s hair tie holds significance. It’s not something to be shared casually with outsiders.”

“But Jada, you’re hardly an outsider,” Wesley retorted. “What’s the point of keeping it if it’s not being used?”

The other men, deeming the hair tie insignificant, silently agreed with Wesley.

If Madisyn couldn’t part with something as simple as a hair tie, that would indeed seem petty.

Without hesitation, Andrew pressed the service bell.

Promptly, a server approached, and Andrew requested, “Bring us a hair tie, please.”

The server returned shortly and presented a hair tie to Jada.

The group fell into an awkward silence, but Jada smiled appreciatively. “Andrew is the wise one among us. Take a lesson from him—that’s how you handle such situations gracefully.”

Madisyn couldn’t resist giving Jada a second glance. The hair tie held little value to her; she had remained silent only to gauge Andrew and Jada’s reactions. Andrew’s response aligned with her expectations and pleased her. Jada’s reaction, however, caught her off guard. Though Jada had always seemed kind and gentle, Madisyn suspected there was more to her—a carefully maintained facade. Yet, keeping up such a facade wasn’t something just anyone could do.

A flicker of intrigue sparked in Madisyn’s eyes.

The moment passed, fading into the background as the conversation shifted to focus on Jada.

“Jada, are you planning to join your father’s company now that you’re back?” Wesley asked.

“Yes, my father has always wanted me to step into the family business.”

“Oh, you’re so exceptional. Riggs Group will surely thrive with you. When the time comes, you must collaborate closely with us.”

Jada smiled warmly. “Actually, I should be the one eager to work with all of you.”

“As long as you’re interested, Jada, any partnership you want, consider it done!” Wesley replied eagerly, glancing around at the others. “Right, everyone?”

“Right!” They all nodded.

Madisyn’s heart fluttered. The young men gathered here were from Arasport’s most influential families. This meant Jada had access to incredible resources. In that light, what would become of Susan?

Though they came from the same family and shared the same father, the way people treated them was worlds apart. With Jada in the picture, Susan’s chances of making a name for herself in the company seemed slim.

“Madisyn, what are you thinking about?” Jada’s soothing voice snapped her back to reality.

“Oh, just that your father has another daughter, right?”

Jada looked slightly surprised. “Are you talking about Susan? What about her?”

“Though you’re both from the Riggs family, there’s quite a gap between you two,” Madisyn remarked, watching Jada’s expression carefully.

Was Jada unaware of the schemes Mara had used against Susan, or was she just pretending?

In truth, Madisyn already knew the answer.

Jada responded warmly, “My sister doesn’t really enjoy working at Riggs Group. She has her own passions. But I believe it doesn’t matter who leads the company between us. Even if I inherit it, our dividends will be the same. After our parents pass, it will just be the two of us, and she will undoubtedly be the most important person in my world.”

“Jada, how is that fair?” Wesley interjected, his tone disapproving. “She’s useless. Why should she get anything from the company?”

“Shut up!” Jada snapped, her complexion paling with anger. “Wesley, you’ve crossed the line.”

Stunned by her outburst, Wesley immediately clammed up.

The room fell silent. The others seemed ready to speak but chose to hold their tongues at that critical moment.

Madisyn felt a weight in her heart—Jada’s influence was much greater than she had previously realized.

In a barely audible grumble, Wesley muttered, “Susan really is useless.”

“And what about you?” Madisyn retorted coolly, her voice cutting through the tension. “I’ve heard you barely engage in family matters, wasting your days on races and frivolities. If we’re making comparisons, who really is the useless one here?”

“What gives you the right to talk to me like that?” Wesley flared up, his face a portrait of indignation.

“And what gives you the right to pass judgment on others like that?” Madisyn’s sharp gaze pierced Wesley, sending a shiver down his spine. How could such a formidable aura come from someone who seemed so fragile?

Reluctantly, Wesley fell silent, eager to escape her scrutiny.

“Alright, Wesley, you were out of line,” Jada interjected, her tone a mix of reproach and conciliation. “Remarks like that will only cause trouble for you. Let’s just enjoy our meal.”

After dinner, they left the private room.

Wesley trailed behind Jada as they approached Andrew’s Rolls-Royce. He scanned the area but didn’t see the driver.

“Jada, I can’t drive you home today; I have another engagement. You should go with Andrew,” he quickly suggested.

Jada exchanged a brief look with Andrew, who gave a subtle nod in agreement.

Wesley, seizing the opportunity to show his politeness, opened the passenger door. “Jada, please, get in the car. You should rest. The long flight must have been exhausting.”

“I won’t sit in the front,” Jada stated firmly. “The front passenger seat is usually reserved for the girlfriend.”

“Come on, we’re all friends here. No need to be so particular about it!” Wesley urged.

Reluctantly, Jada slid into the front seat.
