Chapter 372

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 372:

When Susan heard what Madisyn said, she suddenly felt her eyes sting. She had spoken with determination moments ago, but deep inside, she was still worried. She knew she couldn’t match Jada’s connections. Fortunately, Madisyn was there to support her. Madisyn made her feel she was not alone. She replied, “Okay, Madisyn.”

“And don’t think that I am simply helping you. Actually, I will also benefit from this. Once you take over the Riggs Group, we can have more collaborations. So, it’s a mutually beneficial arrangement, right? That is why, whenever you need my help, be sure to let me know,” Madisyn said earnestly.

“I understand. Don’t worry. You will always be the first to know if I have problems.” Susan was deeply touched by Madisyn’s sincerity. “With you by my side, I will definitely become stronger.”

They talked for a while before hanging up.

Since Edge Entertainment was new and developing steadily, Madisyn didn’t need to devote all her time to it. She could now deal with other things, so she began investigating the person who had started the Johns Group with her grandfather. His name was Dalton Smith. Dalton was in his seventies; he had already retired from the company and was enjoying his later years. Since his retirement, he was replaced by Edgar Smith, his second son and the company’s current vice president. In terms of education and capability, it was said that Edgar was impeccable—a typical elite executive.

Madisyn continued to dig deeper.

She found that Dalton was genuinely a good person. He had never taken advantage of her grandfather. In fact, after her grandfather passed away, he also left the company and would visit his grave from time to time. Dalton and her grandfather were not blood-related, but they treated each other like brothers. He really didn’t seem like someone who would seize power.

The next day, Madisyn woke up early and prepared to go to the company.

While riding in Andrew’s car, she was lost in thought.

“What are you thinking?” Andrew gently asked when he noticed she was absent-minded.

His voice brought Madisyn back to her senses. She hesitated to tell Andrew, but when she saw the gentle and trusting look in his eyes, she decided not to keep anything from him. “The fact that Jenna, Aidyn’s daughter, and I switched at birth is accidental!”

“Really?” Andrew was obviously surprised. “Tell me about it.”

“From the very beginning, I suspected Jeffry had kept something from me. It turned out someone had asked him to raise me. But I haven’t found out who this person is. I’m still investigating,” Madisyn explained.

“They can’t be from the Johns family. Your aunt and uncle are not that type of people,” Andrew said after quickly analyzing the situation. “So, it must be someone close to the Johns family. And the one most interested in the Johns family is Dalton.”

Andrew’s analysis shocked Madisyn, but it was not how quickly he came to the conclusion; it was because of how well he knew the Johns family.

Andrew looked at her widened, round eyes and found her very adorable. He reached out and pinched her cheek. “Prominent families are always well-informed about their connections.” Madisyn realized that she was not as well-informed as Andrew.

“But don’t think Dalton is such a person,” Madisyn said. “How about Edgar?”

“It’s most likely Edgar,” Andrew said calmly, but there was a hint of certainty in his voice. “Edgar may seem gentle and kind, but he is not as good as he appears.”

“You think so?” Madisyn’s eyes narrowed. It seemed she needed to investigate Edgar further.

Andrew reached out and stroked Madisyn’s head. “He probably had plans to switch your brothers as well, but he didn’t have the opportunity until it was your turn. In your absence, Kristine smoothly entered the Johns family, making it easier for Edgar to gain control of the Johns Group.”

Madisyn couldn’t help but admire Andrew’s reasoning. “Andrew, you are amazing. I am truly impressed.”

“Thank you for the compliment, honey. I am your boyfriend. So, whenever you need me, I am always here.” Andrew held her in his arms, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “So, what’s your next move?”

“I’ll investigate Edgar first.”

“Alright. Don’t worry. I’ve got your back.”

While chatting, the car had already arrived at Madisyn’s company.

To Madisyn’s surprise, before she even started investigating Edgar, she received the news that he had arrived in Arasport. While she was busy working, Glenn and Elaine suddenly came to her office.

“Dad?” Madisyn was surprised to see him there. Wasn’t he supposed to be dealing with matters at the branch office at this time?

“Madisyn, are you busy today? You must be tired,” Glenn said, putting the fruits and snacks he brought on the table. “Take a break first.”

Elaine added, “Madisyn dear, don’t overwork yourself. You can delegate tasks to your subordinates.”

“Dad, Mom, it’s okay. I’m not tired,” Madisyn replied with a smile. “What brings you two here?”

“Glenn left the company matters to Edgar to handle. Oh, you haven’t met him yet. I’ll introduce you to him if there’s a chance. He is the son of our company’s second biggest shareholder. He used to assist your brother, but now he is the general manager of the Arasport branch. I’m idle now, so your mom and I have time to visit you; we’re just resting anyway.”

Madisyn could tell from Glenn’s words how much he trusted Edgar.

She was surprised, not expecting Edgar to show up before she could even start investigating him.

Suddenly, Madisyn asked, “Dad, are you and Edgar close?”

Elaine laughed. “Close isn’t adequate to describe their relationship. They practically grew up together like brothers, sharing everything.”

“That’s right, Madisyn. He’s good,” Glenn said solemnly.

Upon hearing this, Madisyn held back the words she wanted to say.

Obviously, her parents thought highly of Edgar. And she hadn’t started her investigation yet. If Edgar was not the one who had had her switched, she would only ruin their relationship.

Moreover, her father and Edgar were running the Johns Group. Any tension between them could affect the entire company.

With this thought in mind, Madisyn decided to investigate first before informing her parents.

Glenn and Elaine could see that Madisyn was busy with her work. They didn’t disturb her too much, so they said goodbye to her and went on a date. Before leaving, Elaine reminded Madisyn, “My dear, don’t work too hard.”
