Being a woman herself, Elaine could easily tell that this woman had a crush on her son. However, it seemed clear that Howard didn’t share those feelings, so Elaine responded to her casually.

Andrew kept piling food onto Madisyn’s plate until it was stacked like a small mountain. She shot him a glare and said, “You don’t have to keep serving all of this.”

“Take your time,” he replied with a smile.

Just as Madisyn was about to respond, the woman interjected, “Miss Johns, I really envy the relationship between you and our CEO. You two seem so close.”

“It’s alright,” Madisyn replied with indifference.

But the woman was persistent. “Miss Johns, you have to try this skincare product. My friend brought it back from abroad. Your skin is already amazing, but this will make it even softer.”

Madisyn gave it a quick look. It was clearly a high-end skincare product, no doubt about that. But the thing was, she didn’t even know this woman. Why would someone she didn’t know hand over such an expensive item? A bit puzzled, Madisyn politely declined. “No, thank you.”

The woman wasn’t ready to take no for an answer. “It’s totally fine. You’re Mr. Johns’s sister, after all. I really think you’re gorgeous, and I’d love for you to stop by more often,” she said, her voice full of warmth.

That was when it clicked for Madisyn—this woman was being so generous because of Howard. However, Howard already had a girlfriend.

“No, I’m all set with skincare products at home, really,” Madisyn hesitated, wondering if she should mention that Howard was already taken. But then she caught a look from Howard and quickly said, “So, Howard, how are things going with you and your girlfriend?”

Howard smiled, appreciating how well his sister understood him. “Very good,” he replied casually. That simple exchange was all it took to stir up quite a buzz in the room.

“Wait, did he just say he has a girlfriend?”

“Oh my God! Whoever she is, she’s insanely lucky. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be Mr. Johns’s girlfriend?”

“Yeah, she must be something special if she caught his eye.”

The room was buzzing with chatter, and envy was practically radiating from everyone’s eyes. But the woman who spoke with Madisyn was taken aback. Was the woman from that night really Howard’s girlfriend?

Howard, ever polite, said, “Thank you. My girlfriend’s a bit shy, but maybe we can all have dinner together sometime soon.”

“Alright, we’re looking forward to it.” Everyone eagerly anticipated it.

Even Elaine was caught off guard. She had no idea her son was seeing someone.

The woman’s eyes welled up with tears, and after a moment, she quietly excused herself. “I’m… I’m going to the restroom.”

She quickly left the room.

It wasn’t hard for anyone to see that the woman had a thing for Howard. Watching her walk away, they couldn’t help but sigh, “What a shame!”

Everyone shook their heads in sympathy.

In the restroom, the woman couldn’t hold back her tears any longer.

The truth was, she had liked Howard for a long time. As a technician, she greatly admired his abilities. Beyond that, he was kind, polite, and an all-around amazing person. She had put in so much effort just to be by his side. Finally, when she got the chance to work with him, she found out he had a girlfriend.

Overwhelmed, she couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. Nearby, someone commented, “Wow, my favorite celebrity is absolutely stunning!”

“Did she post any new photos? Let me check. Wow, she looks amazing. I knew she would be a big hit the first time I saw her.”

Hearing the voices, the woman quickly wiped away her tears, not wanting anyone to notice her distress. As she turned to leave, she caught a glimpse of their phones, displaying photos of a woman that seemed oddly familiar.

The woman was stunning, her face almost doll-like in its perfection. Yet, despite her beauty, there was something genuine and serene in her eyes—a simplicity that was undeniably captivating.

Wait a minute… wasn’t this the same woman she had seen in Howard’s room that day?

“Excuse me, could you tell me who this is?” she asked quickly.

The waitress, thrilled to share her enthusiasm, eagerly explained, “Oh, that’s Milly Duncan, my absolute favorite star! You might not recognize the name since she’s new. She just started in her first TV drama, and her acting is really impressive. I first liked her for her beauty, but she turned out to be incredibly hardworking too. Isn’t she gorgeous? I have photos if you’d like to see.” The waitress swiped to another photo.

The woman was left speechless.

There was no denying it—Milly was breathtakingly beautiful. In fact, she couldn’t remember the last time she had seen someone quite this gorgeous.

But then a troubling thought crossed her mind. Was Howard the type to prioritize looks? She had believed he wasn’t focused on appearances, but it seemed he was just like any other man.

For a moment, she felt her fascination with Howard wane.

Seeing the woman in a daze, the waitress assumed she was stunned by Milly’s beauty. “You should follow her on social media!”

“No, that’s okay,” she snapped out of her thoughts and left.

The waitress was puzzled by her reaction.

After the celebration party, everyone headed back home.

As Elaine got into the car, she asked Howard, “You have a girlfriend? Who is she?”

Elaine was absolutely thrilled and overwhelmed. All her sons had been single for a while, and now two of them were in relationships. She could hardly believe it. Could this mean she might soon have a grandchild?
