Chapter 403
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 403:
Corbett could barely get a word out before collapsing onto the floor, completely drained of strength. Dora rushed over, but as soon as she approached, the overpowering stench hit her. The smell was so foul it was as if she had stumbled into a filthy restroom. Despite her discomfort, she gritted her teeth, assessed Corbettâs condition, and quickly called for the doctor.
A servant bathed Corbett, and the doctor examined him. âNothing too serious. He passed out from sheer exhaustion.â
Dora let out a sigh of relief, but concern lingered. As soon as Corbett woke up, she asked urgently, âCorbett, what happened? Did you fall?â
âIt was Andrew!â Corbett spat out.
âWhat did he do to you?â
âHe did this to me. I was in my car when someone rammed into me, and I ended up falling into a ditch. It had to be Andrew!â Corbettâs eyes blazed with hatred.
Doraâs anger flared up as well. âAndrew did this because he canât stand losing to you. Tomorrow, Iâll make sure your grandfather knows about this and punishes him.â
âAlright.â
The following morning, bright and early, Damari was already up, doing his exercises in the yard. It was before Damari, Bruno, and Corbett arrived. Damari noticed the three of them approaching and sensed that something was wrong, but he didnât say a word, calmly continuing his exercises.
âDamari, do you have any idea what happened yesterday?â Dora asked, her voice laced with anger.
âWhat happened?â Damari replied slowly.
âCorbett was run off the road and ended up in a ditch. If he hadnât been lucky, he couldâve died. It had to be Andrew. Heâs had some trouble lately, so he decided to hurt Corbett. Itâs despicable!â Doraâs fists tightened with fury.

âDo you have any evidence linking Andrew to this?â Damari inquired.
âItâs clear as day. Only Andrew would do this to Corbett,â Dora asserted confidently.
âWithout evidence, I canât do anything about it. Bring me something concrete if you want me to get involved.â Damari had no intention of getting entangled in this situation.
Dora was fuming with frustration, feeling that Damari was being unjust. When Andrewâs father was alive, Damari favored him. But now, with Andrewâs father gone, he seemed to have shifted his loyalty to Andrew.
âAnd what about them?â Dora turned to Bruno, who spoke up. âRemember what you said before? We were supposed to choose the heir to the Klein Group based on the phone sales. With Andrew dragging the company down, heâs no longer fit to be the heir. Our stock price is plummeting, and the internet is full of backlash. If this keeps up, weâre going to face massive losses. Itâs time for a change in leadership.â
Corbett watched Damari intently, his own ambitions carefully hidden behind a mask of sincerity. âGrandpa,â he began earnestly, âIâm not looking to be the heir, but this time, Andrewâs been careless, and itâs affecting all of us. People are criticizing us, and we need to restore our reputation. If I return to the Klein Group, I plan to put my company under its umbrella and focus on aggressively developing new technology products.â
âCorbett has had a passion for technology since he was young, and his skills are far beyond most. With his connections to foreign research institutes, heâs poised to lead the countryâs tech advancements. Under his leadership, the Klein Group could reach new heights,â Dora said proudly, her eyes on Corbett.
The three of them turned their attention to Damari. Given everything they had said, wasnât it time for Damari to change the heir?
However, Damari continued his exercises at a leisurely pace. He asked calmly, âWhich do you think is better, Howardâs phone or yours?â
Corbett was momentarily taken aback but quickly responded, âObviously, mine. Howardâs chip is subpar at best.â
âSounds like youâre not as tuned into technology as Howard is,â Damari said coldly. âIâve already bought both of your phones and had them checked out by the National Research Institute. Howardâs phone, despite being inexpensive, is of excellent quality and bound to become the future trend. Any issues he and Andrew are facing now will be nothing but a temporary setback.â
None of the three were in a good mood. They hadnât anticipated that Damari would continue to back Andrew. He had always been partial to Andrew.
No matter how exceptional Corbett was, Damari failed to see it.
Dora couldnât hold back, exclaiming, âIsnât it unfair? If Corbett were in Andrewâs shoes and caused such trouble, youâd replace him in a heartbeat! But you wonât do the same for Andrew. Do you want the whole company to be dragged down by him?â
Bruno, hearing his wifeâs words, didnât intervene. Deep down, he felt that Damari was being unjust.
After finishing his exercises, Damari turned his gaze to Dora. His eyes were cloudy yet intense. âIf Corbett were in Andrewâs position, this wouldnât have happened.â
