Chapter 408

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 408:

“Yes, if he became the CEO, he would ruin the company!”

“Yes, we have been deceived!”

The other directors who had supported Corbett also spoke up.

“The most crucial aspect for the company is unity, as my grandfather always emphasized. Clearly, some have failed to uphold this. Thus, the board can do without such individuals,” Andrew spoke these words slowly and with a frosty tone. Once he finished, he rose and exited the room.

The attendees in the meeting room were taken aback. They understood that Andrew intended to dismiss those who had supported Corbett!

They were board members, while Andrew, though the CEO, had not yet been officially handed the company by Damari!

How could Andrew dismiss them?

They felt a mix of anger and fear. Losing their jobs meant losing their lavish lifestyles!

“In my view, you brought this upon yourselves. You knew the sort of people Bruno and Corbett are.” The other directors showed no sympathy. Such rotten apples would only damage the company.

Bruno’s and Dora’s faces turned pale with anger.

“Damn it! What the hell is happening?”

Outside the conference room, Dora urged Bruno, “Darling, please figure out how to help Corbett!”

“He’s just useless!” Bruno seethed with resentment. He felt fate was grossly unfair. He couldn’t match up to his older brother, nor could his son compare to his nephew. Why?

At the police station, the couple was detained for conspiracy.

Tears streamed down the woman’s face as she looked at Madisyn. “I admit my mistakes. I’m ready to face the consequences. I just want to see my son. I’ve done everything you asked. Can I see him now?”

“Okay,” Madisyn replied.

She went out and returned with the young boy beside her.

Upon seeing his parents, the boy ran to them.

As the woman embraced her son, she sighed with relief and held him close. At that moment, she realized that although they were short of money, they should use the right ways to earn it.

“Sweetheart, please take care of yourself at home, okay? I’ll have your grandma look after you.” Tears fell as she caressed her son.

The boy looked up, his eyes wide with confusion. “Mom, why? Where are you and Dad going?”

Tears welled up as the boy said, “Mom, are you leaving me again? NO, you can’t do this again!”

He was terrified.

The woman’s heart sank with guilt, and she began to cry. She realized the truth: good actions bring good results, and bad actions bring bad consequences. It was because they had chosen to frame the Klein Group that their son had been sold by that evil woman.

If only she hadn’t harbored ill intentions, her son wouldn’t have been taken away.

Thankfully, her son was returned to her.

“Colin, I’m not leaving for good. I just have some matters to handle. Stay well with Grandma,” she said, though her voice quivered with emotion.

The man, with tears in his eyes, said to the boy, “Colin, remember, Dad and Mom love you the most. Make sure you listen to Grandma at home.”

The boy was sad to leave his parents.

The woman, distressed, looked at Madisyn and pleaded, “Miss Johns, I’m sorry. I know we should not have involved you because we made serious mistakes, but please, our child is innocent. Could you perhaps visit him occasionally while we’re away?”

Madisyn understood that despite this couple’s faults, they loved their son dearly.

“Okay,” Madisyn said.

The boy was indeed in a pitiful state.

He was so young, yet he faced separation from his parents.

Madisyn led him out of the police station. He looked back at his parents reluctantly. Once in the car, he bowed his head and asked, “Did my mom and dad do something wrong?”

“Why do you think so?” Madisyn was caught off guard. Did he know something?

“Because only bad people are taken to the police station,” the boy muttered, his lips trembling as he fought back tears.

Madisyn said softly, “They did make mistakes, but their love for you is strong. They’ll return after they’ve corrected their errors this time.”

Tears streamed down the boy’s cheeks.

“Madisyn!”

Hearing her name called urgently, Madisyn exited the car and saw Andrew approaching quickly. He reached her and embraced her warmly.

Madisyn caught the familiar scent of him. “Is everything settled? Did everything go well for you?”

“Yes, thanks to you. At just the right moment, the live stream went viral, and everyone saw it,” Andrew clung to Madisyn tightly.

Madisyn smiled and gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “You always have your strategies. I know even if I didn’t intervene, you would be fine. Corbett is no match for you after all.”

Indeed, even without the live stream, Corbett couldn’t take over the company.

Yet, Madisyn’s intervention had certainly smoothed the path.
