Chapter 417

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 417:

“‘Catch her!” Dora shouted, her voice urgent.

Even though Madisyn had skillfully gotten rid of the chains, escape was impossible. The bodyguards surrounding them were all highly trained ex-special forces.

As Dora’s command echoed, she was swiftly subdued by a man sent by Andrew. Struggling against him, she screamed, “Don’t bother saving me! Get Madisyn!”

Dora no longer cared about her own safety—her mind only focused on Corbett; he had to be saved, no matter what. Her eyes gleamed with desperation.

As long as her men captured Madisyn, she could break free from Andrew’s control. Dora watched as the bodyguards sprinted towards Madisyn. But in one fluid motion, Madisyn spun around and delivered a powerful kick, sending one of them flying. Her movements were so quick and precise that Dora barely registered what had happened before the guards lay scattered on the floor, groaning in pain. Andrew’s men immediately moved forward, restraining them.

Dora, shaking with rage, snarled, “Damn you all! Do you think you can stop me? If I’m going down, we all are!” Suddenly, a countdown began.

Everyone froze, eyes widening in terror. There was a bomb. Dora had lost all reason.

Madisyn’s heart pounded in her chest. She hadn’t expected Dora to go this far. Without a second thought, she grabbed Andrew by the arm, pulling him toward the exit.

“Do you really think you can leave?” Dora’s voice dripped with malice. “You made me suffer, and if I’m going to die, I’ll make sure I take you all with me!” She let out a crazed laugh that echoed through the warehouse. Her laughter was unnerving—she had truly lost her mind.

But to Dora, death meant nothing if she could take them down with her.

Suddenly, the window burst open and a shadowy figure darted in.

Dora’s momentary surprise turned into a frown. Who was this intruder? The warehouse was seconds from destruction. Why would someone break in now?

Her eyes narrowed as the figure moved swiftly, pulling out a pair of scissors. Shock rippled through her as she locked eyes with the intruder. She hadn’t anticipated this. The night had been full of surprises, yet Dora had been certain her plan was foolproof. Who could have predicted someone would come to disarm the bomb at the last moment?

Was it really that easy to disarm?

As she pondered, the countdown halted abruptly. The silence that followed was deafening.

Overwhelmed, Dora fainted.

Madisyn watched the mysterious figure who, having disarmed the bomb, now slipped away as quickly as he had appeared.

“Let’s go,” said Andrew, gripping Madisyn’s hand firmly. They hurried out of the warehouse and into a waiting luxury car. Once safe, Andrew inspected Madisyn, his gaze darkening at the sight of a bruise on her face. “Her end is near,” he growled, his voice low and dangerous.

“I’m fine,” Madisyn reassured, rubbing her chin thoughtfully. “I just can’t figure out who the man that disarmed the bomb was. Why would someone just appear out of nowhere to help us?”

“I’ll have someone look into it,” Andrew responded, his tone serious. “Whoever he is, he’s clearly capable, but he didn’t seem intent on harming us.”

Madisyn nodded, still deep in thought. “Alright.” After a moment of reflection, a sudden thought struck her. Could it have been her who helped them?

Meanwhile, the mysterious man in black perched on a tree branch after leaving the warehouse. With a whistle, a white pigeon swiftly approached.

He carefully tied a small note to the bird’s leg, stroking its feathers gently before sending it off. The pigeon vanished into the inky black sky.

An hour later, Milly stood on her balcony, gazing quietly at the small white dot approaching through the night. She extended her hand, and the pigeon gracefully landed on her palm. Gently, she untied the note and unfolded it, revealing nothing but a blank piece of paper. It seemed everything had gone as planned.

Milly set the paper aflame, watching it disintegrate into ashes.

Earlier, Milly’s friend had discovered that Madisyn had been kidnapped. Concerned, he had asked Milly if she should help. Knowing that if anything happened to Madisyn, Howard would be devastated, Milly agreed and asked her friend to assist. Now, she owed her friend a favor.

The next day, news of Dora’s arrest spread.

Madisyn suggested they turn her over to the police, fearing Andrew’s methods would be far harsher than any legal punishment.

At that moment, as he read the headlines online, his heart sank with shock and grief.

“‘Dora was arrested? What did she do?”

“It seems to be attempted murder. It’s terrible—these rich families are just monstrous.”

“Damn, who did she try to murder?”

“No one knows for sure. But whoever it is, it is just horrifying. This family has really fallen from grace.”

“I’m done with Corbett’s products. I’m deleting his number from my phone.”

“I’d go with Howard’s instead. It’s cheaper, and the battery lasts forever.”

“Thinking about the Johns, it’s clear these rich families are a tangled web. One misstep, and you could be dead. In their world, it’s either die or achieve untold glory.”
