Chapter 421
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 421:
Madisyn was convinced. Assassins had to master various skills, including how to act, which explained why Milly was such a convincing actress.
âAlright, head back and get ready. Youâll start filming tomorrow.â
Once Milly departed, Madisyn rang up Andrew to fill him in.
âLeaving the Serpentine Players isnât straightforward,â Andrew said.
âIndeed, so letâs hope they canât find Milly. Sweetie, Iâm relying on you,â Madisyn said warmly.
The way Madisyn called Andrew âsweetieâ had a soft and endearing quality that touched Andrew deeply. His eyes twinkled with amusement, but his voice carried a playful scold as he said, âSo, you only use that nickname when you need something? I would like to hear it more often.â
âThatâs just too cheesy for me. Iâm not doing it,â Madisyn replied firmly.
Andrew, a bit disappointed, scratched his nose. âAlright. By the way, I got a call from Waylon yesterday.â

âWaylon?â
âYes. Heâs feeling the strain of constantly being overseas and missing out on time with everyone.â
Madisyn pictured Waylonâs troubled expression when he spoke of his difficulties, which she found slightly amusing. Waylon had been overseas for quite some time. She phoned him, and as soon as he answered, he began venting.
Their conversation was lengthy. As they were about to say goodbye, someone came to visit Waylon.
Upon spotting this person, Waylon panicked. âOh no, why is he here again?â
âWhatâs the matter?â
âAh, I canât talk right now. Sheâs been hounding me a lot lately.â Waylon appeared genuinely bothered.
âDonât you just turn her down? Is there anyone you canât refuse?â Madisyn asked.
âItâs complicated. Sheâs the bossâs daughter.â
Clearly, Waylon was very charming if even the bossâs daughter showed interest in him. Waylonâs company was a leading business in the nation, and Tatiana also belonged to that company.
Madisyn joked, âIf you end up with her, could you inherit the company?â
âCut it out. I donât like her at all. If this continues, Iâm going to lose my mind!â Waylon sounded genuinely upset.
Madisyn couldnât help but find Waylonâs predicaments amusing, making it difficult for her to feel sorry for him. âHang in there, Waylon. If it gets too much, maybe try finding a girlfriend.â
âIâll consider it if the opportunity arises.â
Then they ended the call.
As time moved on, the next day arrived. The recording for the variety show started. Upon Millyâs arrival at the venue, Tatiana was noticeably taken aback.
âWas Milly actually a guest on the show?â
This was bound to be interesting. They would compete, and it would become apparent to everyone the stark contrast between them, proving that Howard was only enamored with Milly for her beauty!
People were often initially captivated by Millyâs stunning looks, then their expressions soon grew complicated. They might be easily impressed by someone like Milly, but not Howard. In the eyes of many, Howard was as lofty and unreachable as the moonâhow could he be merely attracted to someone like her?
Being placed on a high pedestal can sometimes be a burden. Howardâs predicament was a perfect illustration of this. People expected Howard to be with someone as remarkable as himself, not Milly.
As the variety show was about to kick off with the initial segment of forming teams and chatting, everyone engaged warmly, aiming to come off as friendly and gather more fans on camera. Tatiana picked two teammates first.
She extended the invitations, and they quickly accepted, not daring to decline, leaving the remaining two to turn their attention to Milly.
âNext, we move to our talent contest. Each team will pick a member to draw lots, and they must perform whatever comes up,â the host said. Tatiana drew and it was dancing.
She was pleased. âLooks like Iâm on my side today!â
Seeing this, Millyâs team instantly felt a wave of discouragement. All three of Tatianaâs members were skilled dancers. Losing the contest meant facing the consequences.
âWhy donât you give it a try?â one of Millyâs teammates suggested to her.
Milly stepped up and pulled a card.
It showed acrobatics.
âOh, itâs acrobatics. Are you able to do that?â the host inquired.
Milly and her two teammates looked utterly shocked. Acrobatics? They were entertainers, not circus performers! Milly certainly hadnât lucked out with her draw!
The host joked, âOur guests are wearing troubled expressions. Perhaps theyâre not good at this. No worries, we have professional trainers on hand to assist.â Tatianaâs team members appeared to relish the unfolding drama.
Even with professional help, mastering complex acrobatic routines in a short time was a tall order. They soon began their preparations.
The teammate who had encouraged Milly to draw looked disappointed. âYou really drew the short straw. It looks like weâre bound for failure.â
Millyâs other teammate, with a round face, sighed and said, âThereâs not much we can do about it. Even if one of us had drawn, the result could have been the same. The show likes to stir up a bit of drama, anyway!â
