Chapter 439
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 439:
Jadaâs smile faltered. âNorton, weâve never met your girlfriend. Why donât you bring her along to dinner with us next time?â
âSure, but sheâs quite busy and might not be able to make it. Sheâll join us when she can,â Norton replied. Following dinner, the conversation turned to investment in Jadaâs business. Almost everyone had pledged at least two million. Finally, attention shifted to Andrew, the wealthiest and most influential among them.
âAndrew, how much are you considering investing in Jada?â Wesley inquired with interest.
Jada responded softly, âItâs just a small venture. I donât require a large sum.â
âSince itâs your first company, it is a significant step. Weâve been friends for years, so Andrew should contribute generously,â Wesley remarked with a smile, then turned to Andrew, awaiting his response. The others were also eager to learn how much Andrew would invest in Jada.
Jada regarded him with a soft, hopeful look. Andrew replied, âI have my assistant arrange for the funds to be transferred to you directly.â However, he didnât specify the amount.
Jada nodded in agreement. âAlright.â
Following dinner, everyone left. Jada then addressed Madisyn. âSince everyone else is investing, what about you, Madisyn? Itâs not that Iâm pressing, but as we are friends, it might not look good if you donât contribute. Others might be disappointed with you.â
Her apparent consideration was, in reality, a veiled threat for Madisyn to invest. Jadaâs tactics were truly off-putting.
âWhat amount are you looking for?â Madisyn asked.
âItâs entirely up to you.â
âIn that case, Iâll match Andrewâs contribution,â Madisyn replied.
Jada nodded in agreement. She was genuinely curious about their contribution, expecting Andrew to invest no less than ten million dollars. Securing twenty million dollars in one night for her new venture was a feat.
Jada then proceeded to handle company matters. On their way home, Madisyn informed Andrew that Jada had asked her to invest. âSo, are you going to invest in Jada?â Andrew questioned.
âWhat about you?â
âJada saved me in the past, and Iâve supported her a lot over the years,â Andrew said. Things had changed, and with his new relationship, helping Jada unconditionally seemed inappropriate.
âIâll ask Norton to handle the investment on my behalf,â Andrew said. âIâll provide him with the funds to invest in Jada.â
âOkay.â
The next day, Jada made rapid strides. After purchasing an entire floor in an office building, she started her new company and quickly received the investments her friends promised. Since they were friends, no formal contracts were signed. The investments were more favors than formal agreements.
Jada received six million dollars from Norton. Her eyes sparkled with surprise. Norton had promised her three million the day before, so why had the amount doubled? It seemed her words from yesterday had made an impact.
When Norton called, Jada inquired softly, âWhy did you give me such a large amount? Wonât your girlfriend be upset if she finds out? Maybe you should reconsider.â
Norton replied with a smile, âJada, youâre as considerate as ever. Thereâs no need to worry. This amount includes contributions from both me and Andrew. He instructed me to send the money on his and Madisynâs behalf. Consider it an investment from both of them.â
Jadaâs smile faltered. Had Andrew and Madisyn really only contributed three million dollars in total?
Norton, who once might have misunderstood Andrew, now understood that maintaining distance from other women was essential for someone with a girlfriend. âJada, Iâm glad to hear youâve received the funds. I need to get back to work now and then meet up with my girlfriend,â Norton said.
Jada responded with a simple âokay.â As she looked at her phone after the call ended, a sense of unease settled over her.
With both men having girlfriends, was she no longer a consideration for them? If all her friends soon had girlfriends, where would she stand with them?
She texted Norton once more, inviting him to bring his girlfriend along for their next dinner. She was curious to see who could draw him away from her.
Jada was in a foul mood. She had expected Andrew to contribute at least ten million dollars, but to her surprise, it was only three million. Moreover, it was given by him and Madisyn together.
After a busy morning, Jada felt a bit worn out by noon and sank onto the sofa. She had been so caught up in her work lately that she hadnât had time to recharge her energy. After lunch, she decided to drive to the hospital to pick up her supplements. While at the hospital, she spotted a familiar face.
It was Susan.
Jada squinted in surprise, wondering what she was doing there.
