Chapter 446

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 446:

Madisyn quietly pulled out her phone and began examining something on its screen. The manager’s expression hardened with irritation; for him, Madisyn had become a problem that needed to be swiftly dealt with to prevent further interference. With a weary tone, the manager said, “Miss Johns, I’ve shown you respect, and even inspected the kitchen when you requested. Now you’re making baseless accusations against us. Is this the way the Johns family treats people? You’re accusing us of dishonest practices without a shred of evidence. We are fully committed to our responsibilities and have no ill intentions!”

The statement left an uncomfortable silence in the canteen.

Everyone’s gaze shifted to Madisyn. Despite knowing that the manager was involved in questionable activities, it was unwise for her to make accusations without proof, as it could backfire.

To many, it seemed like Madisyn was not smart enough. Different thoughts crossed everyone’s minds as they looked at Madisyn.

Hector spoke up. “Madisyn, I advise you to refrain from such claims in the future. And Jamir, you need to improve your performance to make amends for this situation.”

Jamir Gibson, the canteen manager, sighed and nodded. “Understood, Mr. Lyons. I’ll do my best.”

With just a few authoritative words, Hector resolved the issue, further cementing his image as both noble and capable.

“I must say, Mr. Lyons has a way with words and a remarkable level of emotional intelligence,” someone murmured.

“Absolutely. It’s no surprise he’s the vice president of the Johns Group. Miss Johns could learn a lot from him. If it weren’t for Mr. Lyons, Jamir might not have let her go,” another person whispered.

Hector was admired by many for his exemplary character, gentleness, and lack of scandal.

Finally, Madisyn looked up from her phone and said, “If there were no evidence, I wouldn’t have pushed for anyone’s dismissal. But here’s the proof.”

Lifting her phone to display the screen, she added, “Here are the bills. Many of them contain discrepancies, and the purchases don’t match what was actually served.”

The crowd gathered around as Madisyn displayed the bills on her phone.

“I’ve activated short-distance file transfer. You should be able to access the document now,” she said.

With mobile phone technology becoming increasingly popular, many people used them for quick document transfers.

As the crowd took out their phones, Hector did the same, his gaze sharp and focused. Jamir, however, dismissed the situation, believing that Madisyn could not possibly uncover anything significant so quickly.

But as he opened the document and scanned through the evidence, his confidence crumbled.

What was going on?

Was it real?

Jamir stared at Madisyn with a look of sheer horror.

The evidence of kickbacks was undeniable, along with disturbing revelations of other unethical practices.

How did Madisyn uncover all these?

Jamir’s mind raced.

Shock rippled through the crowd as they absorbed the document. The more they read, the angrier they became. One person, fuming, picked up a plastic bottle and threw it at Jamir, shouting, “You’re truly despicable! I ended up in the hospital because of the expired food you served. I never suspected you would be behind it!”

Others joined in with their grievances. “I suspected the food was off, but I never imagined you were intentionally buying substandard products. How could you accept so many kickbacks and serve such terrible food? Have you no shame?”

While kickbacks were unfortunately common in the company, blatant disregard for quality and safety—opting for cheap, spoiled meat and refusing to hire cleaners—was beyond the pale. The thought of consuming such unsanitary food left everyone feeling nauseated.

Amidst the outrage, Madisyn’s ability to expose these wrongdoings earned her deep respect. Her skill in unearthing such incriminating evidence was truly impressive.

Turning to Hector, Madisyn asked, “Can we proceed with firing them now?”

Hector, having reviewed the evidence himself, nodded in agreement.

He glared at Jamir, his voice sharp with disappointment. “How could you betray my trust like this? I’m thoroughly disappointed. Call the vice finance director here immediately. I want to see how he handles this mess!”

The vice finance director, Jamir’s superior, arrived shortly after.

Faced with the undeniable evidence, he bowed deeply and offered a sincere apology to everyone, pledging compensation.

“I am truly sorry for the situation. I will compensate each of you with one thousand dollars,” the vice finance director said.

With compensation amounting to over a million dollars in total, the gesture was significant, and while it didn’t entirely resolve the grievance, it was a fair resolution.

The crowd, though still unhappy, accepted the offer.

Hector turned to Madisyn. “What do you think, Madisyn? Jamir is clearly at fault. Effective immediately, he is fired, and the entire canteen staff will be dismissed.”

Madisyn looked at the vice finance director. “It seems he has been deeply involved as well.”

The vice finance director protested, “Miss Johns, I acknowledge my management issues, but I assure you, I’ve never engaged in any illegal activities!”
