Chapter 450
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 450:
Tatiana trailed behind Hector as they went upstairs, and it seemed like she wanted to protest, but something held her back. Lowering her gaze ever so slightly, Tatiana watched Hector as he carefully disinfected her wound, tears brimming in her eyes. âYouâre such a kind man,â she said.
âWhatâs the matter?â Hector asked, his voice gentle as he noticed the tears streaming down her face. Tatiana quickly brushed her tears away and forced a smile. âItâs nothing. Itâs just⦠itâs been so long since I came across someone as kind and gentle as you.â
âIs that so?â Hector responded. âMaybe youâve just been crossing paths with the wrong kinds of people. Itâs not just that; most people these days are just opportunists. Iâm sure youâve heard rumors about meâmy reputation is pretty bad, and people have started looking down on me.â
As Tatiana spoke, tears welled up in her eyes again. She quickly wiped them away and said, her voice cracking, âPeople might gossip about you being with me. I really appreciate your kindness, but itâs better if I go.â
As she stood to leave, it looked like her knee buckled beneath her; the pain was too much to bear, and she stumbled forward. Hector swiftly caught her in his arms. âTake it easy. And donât say things like that. Whether youâre good or not, thatâs for you to decide. Everyone should live by their own standards, not by the judgment of others.â
Tatiana felt touched by his words. âYouâre incredibly kind, sir,â she murmured, gently wiping away her tears. He offered a small smile.

âDonât let this get you down. Hereâs my card. If you ever need help, feel free to reach out anytime.â
The moment she glanced at the card, Tatianaâs eyes widened in surprise. âMr. Lyons? I had no idea you were⦠â
âWhatâs the matter?â Hector asked, puzzled.
âYou are close to the Johns family, right? The Johns family would never approve of us interacting, Mr. Lyons. I donât want to make things difficult for you.â As she spoke, Tatiana slipped the business card into the pocket on Hectorâs chest, letting her fingers lightly graze his collarbone.
With that, Tatiana turned on her heel and walked away. She could feel Hectorâs eyes on her as she made her exit, a satisfied smile dancing in her eyes. She held him exactly where she wanted him.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Madisyn had been watching the stairs closely. The moment she spotted Tatiana descending, she finished the wine in her hand, a knowing smile creeping across her face. Tatiana had played right into her hands.
âYou look like youâre in a good mood. Is everything going according to plan?â Susan asked, her curiosity piqued.
âEverythingâs going perfectly,â Madisyn replied with a grin, swirling the glass in her hand. This time, she wasnât just going to deal with Tatianaâsheâd be able to dig up some dirt on Hector too. Two birds, one stone.
âOh, Madisyn! There you are!â Jada approached with a casual stride, taking the seat right next to Madisyn. âSo, what are you pulling up for auction?â
When Susan saw her arrival, her face soured. âJada, we were in the middle of a conversation. Could you stop interrupting?â
âWhat? I just wanted to chat with Madisyn for a bit. I didnât mean to interrupt,â Jada said, her voice soft as she lowered her head, feigning sadness. âIâll leave if it bothers you.â
Wesley was irritated. âWhy canât Jada speak like the rest of us? Whatâs your problem with her, Susan?â he asked.
âThis has nothing to do with you,â Susan shot back. With that, she stood up abruptly and walked away. Dane quickly followed after her without a word.
Andrew glared at Wesley sharply, making him duck his head and grumble under his breath, âSusan was way out of lineâ¦â
Jada turned to Madisyn, her face still wearing a sad expression. âIâm sorry, Madisyn. I didnât mean to bother you.â
Madisynâs voice was calm and low. âDonât worry about it. We were just chatting because we happened to sit together. Honestly, if it werenât for Dane, I wouldnât even bother talking to her.â
With a satisfied smile, Jada tilted her head and asked, âSo, you want Dane and Susan to break up? I honestly think your brother deserves someone better.â
Lowering her voice even more, Jada whispered, âItâs not just Dane seeing her; she has someone else.â
âWhat do you mean by that?â Madisyn asked, raising an eyebrow.
âIâve got proof. You have to trust me on this, Madisyn,â Jada replied with a firm nod.
Madisyn caught the serious look in Jadaâs eyes and felt a bit uneasy. Still, part of her found it hard to believe that Susan could be involved with another man.
âAlright, so whatâs your evidence? If itâs convincing, Iâll let Dane know,â Madisyn said after a brief pause.
âI canât show you right now, but I need you to trust me on this. Susan isnât the right person for Dane,â Jada replied confidently.
Madisyn looked a bit uncomfortable as she responded, âI trust you, but Daneâs really into her. If I say anything bad about her, heâs going to be upset.â
Jada stopped pressing the issue. She had planned to use Madisyn to drive a wedge between Dane and Susan, but it seemed her plan wasnât working. Susan was more cunning than she thought.
âBy the way, do you have any idea what Susan is planning to auction later?â Jada asked, shifting the conversation.
âI think itâs a bottle of perfume,â Madisyn replied. Something occurred to Jada, and she asked, âAnd what about you? What are you putting up for auction?â
âIâm offering an antique.â
Jada nodded, and Wesley, with a warm smile, added, âJada, the title of Charity Angel always went to you before. This year, itâs bound to be yours again.â
Jada let out a light laugh. âI donât really need the title. What matters most is helping the kids in need.â
âJada, youâre so generous,â Wesley said with admiration. The others quickly chimed in with their own praises, and it wasnât long before Jada became the focus of everyoneâs conversation.
It was clear Jada held a prestigious position in the high society of Ansport, sparking envy among the other ladies. After dinner, the guests made their way to the auction hall, where the excitement of the evening was about to unfold.
Seating in the hall was arranged based on status, and both Madisyn and Andrew were given spots right in the front row. As guests continued to arrive, Madisyn scanned the room but didnât spot anyone for quite a while. She lowered her eyes, lost in thought.
Before long, all the guests had taken their seats, and the auction finally kicked off.
