Chapter 456

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 456:

The surveillance video was replayed. When Jada heard the name “Jensen Kinney,” her body went rigid. She had anticipated that Jensen would be involved. Jensen would undoubtedly know exactly what Susan and the staff member were talking about. No way!

Taking a seat, Jada pulled out her iPad. Soon, the screen was flooded with codes. Meanwhile, on stage, Isabella felt increasingly uneasy. The situation was becoming more unpredictable by the minute. She stood there, her nerves fraying. If Susan hadn’t been behind this, wouldn’t she become a laughingstock? People would think she always relied on others’ opinions…

As the surveillance video began to play, it suddenly flickered and went black. “What happened?” The crowd murmured, growing restless. Madisyn, narrowing her eyes, realized that someone was tampering with the auction venue’s internet connection. She swiftly pulled out her phone and began working on it. Andrew, following suit, also retrieved his phone but noticed that Madisyn was already busy with hers, her fingers moving rapidly. He smiled and set his phone aside.

This was a battle fought without bullets. As confusion spread among the crowd, the screen remained completely dark. Jada stared at it, a smile playing on her lips.

“Crack, crack, crack!”

In the next instant, the screen flickered back to life, but the iPad in Jada’s hand suddenly powered down. Shocked, she attempted to restart it, but the screen remained stubbornly black, making it difficult for her to breathe. Had someone just counterattacked her?

Since Jada had managed to enter the Qiviut Organization, it was clear she was both skilled and adept at hacking. Was someone defending the auction network and countering her efforts? Could it be? Jada quickly scanned the room, but with so many people absorbed in their phones, she couldn’t pinpoint the culprit.

She fell on Jared, who was holding a laptop. If Jared was indeed a member of the Qiviut Organization, he would likely be a hacker as well. Could he be the one? Jada pursed her lips. It seemed she would need to bring Jared into the fold as soon as possible.

At that moment, a voice emanated from Jared’s phone. “I already know what they were talking about.”

“Okay, go ahead.”

Jared grabbed a microphone from somewhere and positioned it in front of the phone. Jensen’s voice echoed clearly throughout the hall. “The person holding the box said, ‘Excuse me, is this box supposed to be here?’ The staff member replied, ‘Yes, you can give it to me.’ The woman with the box then said, ‘Okay, then I’ll head back!'” After Jensen’s recitation, a profound silence followed. This was starkly different from what the staff member had initially reported.

At this moment, the staff member’s face turned an ashen hue. As everyone’s gaze fixed on her, her legs gave way, and she collapsed to her knees. The collective realization dawned on the crowd: the staff member had been lying.

“What a marvelous day today! The situation keeps turning on its head!”

“It’s more thrilling than a TV drama! If it wasn’t Susan, then who on earth framed Madisyn?”

“It was worth coming here today.”

Jared remarked, “Generally speaking, when something happens, the person who stands to gain the most is usually the one behind it. What do you think?” His observation was spot-on, and several people nodded in agreement.

Everyone paused to reflect. Given that Madisyn had gotten into trouble and Susan had been accused of framing her, who would have benefited from this scheme? It seemed the only plausible answer was Jada.

After all, if Susan’s reputation were tarnished, Jada would have a better chance of securing the Riggs Group. This maneuver could also estrange Madisyn and Susan from each other. Realizing this, the crowd quickly grasped the complexity of the situation. They recalled that from the start, Jada had been orchestrating and steering the narrative.

Jada sensed the shift in the crowd’s perception. Overwhelmed by the realization and the weight of Jared’s words, she began to cry. “Madisyn is my friend. I saw that she was being wronged, so I spoke up on her behalf. Madisyn, you believe me, don’t you?”

Jada gazed at Madisyn with a mix of grievance and hope, but Madisyn’s expression remained conflicted. She lowered her head and said, “I don’t know. You’ve been asking me to admit my mistake and apologize from the start.”

That was true. Jada had initially doubted Madisyn and suggested an apology. As a result, the crowd’s gazes toward Jada became complex. Watching Jada, Isabella felt as though she had been struck by lightning. Yes, it seemed Jada had been guiding the situation all along! If Jada hadn’t made those statements, she would not have felt so compelled to confront Madisyn about the authenticity of the crown. While others might still be unsure about Jada, Isabella was almost certain that Jada’s actions were deliberate. At that moment, she had become a mere pawn, following Jada’s lead. She was a prominent figure in Ansport, but today’s events would undoubtedly tarnish her reputation in the future.

Clenching her fists, Isabella confronted Jada. “Jada, did you orchestrate all this?”

“Isabella, what do you mean?” Jada feigned innocence.

“It was your words that led me to confront Madisyn about the authenticity of the crown. So it turns out I’m just another pawn in your game, isn’t that right?”

Isabella sneered.
