Chapter 476

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 476:

Madisyn held Howard’s hands gently. “Howard, do you trust me? Milly is fine.”

Howard’s gaze was vacant. Upon hearing her, he showed no response, thinking Madisyn was merely trying to console him.

“Howard, I’m not lying to comfort you. Milly is truly fine.” Madisyn looked at Howard intently, feeling compelled to reveal Milly’s true identity, fearing he might collapse under the distress.

Howard murmured, “Thank you, Madisyn.”

“Actually, Howard, Milly is an assassin from the Serpentine Palace. Her car accident happened because her organization discovered her.”

“Miss Johns, the patient is out of the emergency room,” a nurse interrupted, rushing over.

Howard immediately stood and followed the nurse.

Watching Howard’s retreating figure, Madisyn felt compelled to catch up to him.

The car accident victim’s face was unrecognizable, covered in bandages.

Howard sat by her side, his hands shaking.

“Howard, are you sure this is Milly?” Madisyn whispered to him.

Howard hesitated.

Indeed, he didn’t want to believe that it was Milly. After hearing Madisyn’s question, he felt a connection to the bandaged figure before him.

“But if it’s not Milly, then who could it be? It was Milly who was driving my car.” Tears filled his eyes as Howard spoke in a hoarse voice.

“Try to feel it again,” Madisyn urged.

Howard silently observed the bandaged figure again.

He felt no strong connection to the person. But with the severe burns, how could they be sure whether it was Milly?

The doctor said, “Mr. Johns, the patient has suffered extensive burns. We’ve done all we can, but it’s uncertain how long she will survive.”

“Okay.”

Then the doctor left the room.

Madisyn looked into Howard’s eyes and said, “Howard, trust me, this is Milly. Milly will come back to you.”

Howard gazed back at Madisyn. Something in him wanted to believe her, and he hesitantly asked, “Really?”

“I swear,” Madisyn said.

Howard turned to the figure on the bed. Madisyn suggested, “Howard, you need to rest.”

Howard bit his lip. Unsure if the woman was Milly, he wasn’t ready to leave her side. “I’ll rest here.”

Madisyn, seeing his determination, reluctantly agreed. She then left to get some food for him.

As Madisyn watched, Howard tried to eat, though his attention remained fixed on the woman in the bed.

Deep down, he hoped it wasn’t Milly.

Madisyn was deeply concerned for Howard and stayed by his side in the hospital.

She frequently checked her phone, sending several messages to Milly:

“Howard can’t handle this shock. Please get in touch.”

She glanced at the online comments about Edge Entertainment. There was still a lot of ridicule online, but by afternoon, the mocking had subsided. News had broken about Edge Entertainment’s plans to produce a science fiction film.

“Is this true? Is Edge Entertainment planning a movie? And a science fiction movie?” Nowadays, everyone knows that science fiction movies are the hardest to produce.

“I think this will do well.”

“Maybe because Milly and Maxine were let go, their company wants to make a science fiction movie to salvage their reputation. Shame. Toby Harvey, the best director for sci-fi films, is directing the film. Letting go of Maxine and Milly—how can Edge Entertainment even compare to Toby?”

“Edge is really putting itself out there this time. If they release a flop, it’ll be an embarrassment internationally.”

“Please, just stop, Edge Entertainment.”

Science fiction movies often attracted harsh criticism from both critics and audiences alike. Almost all netizens pleaded with Edge Entertainment not to venture into making science fiction films.

A previous science fiction movie from Lorpond had been ridiculed internationally—it was a disaster!

Madisyn ignored these comments. She was determined to create the best science fiction movie possible. Meanwhile, she joined the crew of the science fiction film that let go of Maxine and Milly. After a full morning’s work, she was wiped out. Making a science fiction movie was no small feat.

Yet, this challenge boosted her spirits. Toby and his production team were first-rate, and she believed they would indeed produce a top-notch science fiction film. This project was her chance to reclaim her status.

During a break, Tatiana caught up on the news from Edge Entertainment and couldn’t believe it.

“Mr. Harvey, Edge Entertainment is trying their hand at a science fiction film too!” she said to Toby, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Toby scoffed and said, “These days, everyone thinks they can make a science fiction movie. That’s why we’ve seen so many failures!”

“You’re right. I can almost hear how the netizens are going to roast them,” Tatiana replied, smiling.

It seemed this time Edge Entertainment might just shoot itself in the foot.
