Chapter 531

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 531:

Andrew felt a wave of warmth wash over him as he pressed a kiss to Madisyn’s cheek. “Let me get you some hot milk to help warm you up.”

“Sounds good,” she replied.

Andrew prepared a glass of hot milk for Madisyn. As she took a sip, the delightful flavor warmed her from the inside out.

“Aren’t you feeling cold?” Madisyn asked, wrapping her fingers around his icy hand.

Andrew looked back at her with eyes full of gentle affection, his smile so charming it was hard to resist. “Not at all. I’m perfectly fine!”

Madisyn couldn’t help but roll her eyes in disbelief. “Seriously, you need to go take a bath and warm yourself up. It’s freezing.”

“Okay,” Andrew said, a hint of reluctance in his voice as he walked away.

After a relaxing bath, Madisyn stood by the window, mesmerized by the delicate snowflakes drifting from the sky. The city below lay wrapped in a blanket of extraordinary stillness and beauty.

She pulled out her phone and noticed that Twitter was alive with activity, a stark contrast to the peaceful night outside. The HB Club had lost to the YM Club in the race and had even gone so far as to attempt framing their member, resulting in their complete disgrace.

Racing fans felt a deep sense of disappointment in the club. Additionally, all of Mercer’s past wrongdoings had come to light, leading to widespread condemnation of him as a genuine jerk. “It’s disheartening to think that someone like Mercer owns our country’s leading racing team; it feels like the future of racing is in jeopardy.”

“Everyone, no need to worry! Wesley and Jada have already distanced themselves from the HB Club.”

“It’s commendable that they chose to leave upon realizing the disgusting actions of the HB Club. Otherwise, I would have criticized them as well.”

“Wesley and Jada are gone. What about the others? How can anyone stay in a team like this?”

Wesley and Jada also made a post on Twitter, declaring that they had ties with the HB Club and were unaware of the club’s misdeeds. Their statements received widespread acclaim.

Many believed that the two were innocent and had been unfairly pulled down by the HB Club, speculating that Wesley and Jada would have flourished in a different team.

However, when Mercer caught wind of their Twitter posts, his fury boiled over. While the two had indeed contributed many resources to the team, the team had also provided them with the best resources, elevating them to the ranks of the top five racers in the country. Now they had left the team and even turned against it, casting themselves as the innocent party.

Mercer was livid. Damn it, he needed to start recruiting new members immediately. He was determined to make Wesley and Jada regret their decision!

As Mercer plotted his next moves, messages began flooding in from team members. “Coach, I regret to inform you that I can no longer continue. I must leave the club.”

“Coach, I need to attend to some family matters, so I can’t continue training…” One by one, several members informed him of their departure.

Confused, Mercer inquired about the reasons behind their decisions. Each one cited personal matters, but Mercer was skeptical. The simultaneous departures felt far too coincidental. Eventually, a member revealed the truth: Wesley and Jada had established a new team and were inviting them to join.

Mercer’s vision blurred as rage consumed him, nearly causing him to faint. These two had abandoned the team, cast blame on it for everything, and now they were poaching its members? In that moment, Mercer finally comprehended Hamlin’s feelings.

He had exited Hamlin’s team in a similar fashion, taking members along with him. Mercer’s gaze hardened. But he was not Hamlin, and he wouldn’t passively accept this.

“You can leave, but you will have to pay the exit fee,” Mercer declared.

The exit fees for the team were exorbitant. Wesley and Jada could easily cover it, but could the others? As the members stopped mentioning leaving, Mercer’s resentment toward Wesley and Jada remained. He vowed to make them pay dearly.

The following day, Madisyn visited Hamlin at the hospital. Hamlin appeared significantly improved, no longer the shell of himself he had been.

“You’re Rosemarie,” Hamlin stated with certainty upon seeing her.

Madisyn didn’t deny it; she simply nodded in acknowledgment.

Hamlin’s eyes welled with emotion. “I never imagined we’d reunite after all these years. Why did you stop racing after winning the championship?” Madisyn admitted sincerely.

Hamlin regretted this. “You put in so much effort to win the championship. Why not set your sights on the international stage?”

“I’ve got other priorities,” Madisyn replied, as if racing were just a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. Still, countless people aspire to win a championship at least once in their lives.

“What about now? Will you be competing in the international event?” Hamlin inquired.

“We’ll see,” Madisyn answered, clearly unsure. After chatting for a bit, she noticed a renewed sense of hope in Hamlin. As she left, she spotted a familiar figure on the first floor.

Having spent so much time together, Madisyn recognized the person from behind, despite the heavy disguise. She quickly decided to follow.

Susan stood outside the surgery room, her expression filled with anxiety. Madisyn looked around and realized they were in the gynecology department. What was Susan doing here? As she approached, she noticed the form in Susan’s hand.
