Chapter 534

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 534:

My Love

On the helicopter, Madisyn breathed a sigh of relief upon realizing everyone was safe. She also noticed that Sewell and Maxine had courageously stayed behind to safeguard everyone else. How could someone like Sewell deliberately lure them into such danger?

It was clear now; she had been utterly deceived. Back at the company, Madisyn arranged some takeout for the group, urging everyone to settle down. She pulled Sewell aside for a private discussion. “Did anyone outside the crew have knowledge of your filming schedule?” Madisyn asked.

Sewell reflected for a moment. “We didn’t share it with anyone specifically,” he answered.

Madisyn maintained her composure as she said, “It appears we have a mole among us. Someone had informed Tatiana that we would be filming on the snowy mountain today, which subsequently led to her discussion with Hector.”

“Miss Johns, how did you come to know this?” Sewell asked, visibly confused.

Madisyn was reserved with her response. “Today’s incident wasn’t accidental. Keep vigilant and try to uncover the identity of the mole,” she instructed.

“Understood,” Sewell replied, his tone resolute.

Upon returning to her office with Andrew, Madisyn played the recording of Tatiana and Hector’s conversation. The room filled with Tatiana’s maniacal laughter, then fell silent.

Madisyn set down her phone, her expression unreadable. “I discovered something,” she declared.

“It seems Hector has suspected he was under surveillance from the beginning,” Andrew noted. “He’s been preparing for this moment to turn your own tools against you.”

A chill ran across Madisyn’s face. Hector’s cunning was far superior to any ordinary adversary’s. This realization underscored the danger he posed, far greater than they had anticipated.

Madisyn promptly called Dane to update him on the situation and cautioned him about Hector’s unpredictability.

She then turned to Andrew. “If Hector believes I’ve exhausted my strategies, he is gravely mistaken.”

Andrew raised an eyebrow.

Madisyn quickly opened her computer, and soon a surveillance video flickered to life on the screen. It showed footage inside a home, with Hector and Tatiana occasionally passing through what seemed to be the hallway.

Impressed, Andrew couldn’t help but commend her. “Impressive. Not only did you bug Tatiana, but you also managed to install surveillance in this house. Hector probably hasn’t even noticed.”

“That’s right. Howard assisted me in developing this system. It can monitor activities even without a signal and remains undetected,” Madisyn revealed with a smile. “Hector would never guess that the painting he spent millions on conceals a surveillance camera,” she added, her voice laced with satisfaction.

“Your strategies are truly remarkable,” Andrew responded.

“To deal with someone like Hector, one must be cunning,” Madisyn remarked, her smile unfading. “Besides, after what Hector did to me, I won’t let him off easily. His retribution is coming soon.”

A cold glint flashed in Madisyn’s eyes, her resolve strengthening. She suddenly wondered if her demeanor in front of Andrew was inappropriate. Men usually preferred kind and gentle women, right?

Biting her lip, she felt a pang of guilt as she glanced at Andrew. However, his eyes reflected gentle amusement, with no trace of disgust.

Madisyn coughed slightly, feeling a twinge of uncertainty. “Do you think I’m a bad person?” she asked.

“Why would I think that?” Andrew questioned gently, prompting her to continue.

“Because I’m ruthless, and my tactics against Hector are quite devious,” she explained, her voice tinged with concern.

“Not at all,” Andrew replied assuredly. “Being kind to your enemy is being cruel to yourself. I admire your approach.”

Madisyn felt a wave of delight wash over her. Grasping his hand, she said warmly, “Thank you, my love.”

This term of endearment made Andrew smile.

Upon returning to the company, Andrew was grinning from ear to ear, leaving everyone curious about what good news had made their boss so jubilant. Could it be that he had landed the coveted multi-billion-dollar international project? Little did they know, his happiness stemmed simply from Madisyn calling him “love.”

Meanwhile, news of the avalanche quickly dominated the headlines. Tatiana watched the reports intently, hoping to see casualties announced. However, there were none. Could Maxine and the others really have escaped unscathed? Tatiana was annoyed. Even if there were no deaths, there should have been injuries, right? Could it be that Maxine and the others’ bodies hadn’t been found yet? Pondering this possibility, Tatiana felt a bit reassured and called Hector.

“Hector, look, they haven’t reported any casualties. Does that mean they haven’t found the bodies yet?” she asked.

“No one was hurt,” Hector replied calmly.

Tatiana was incredulous. “How is that possible? Hector, didn’t you calculate everything perfectly? They did take a helicopter, didn’t they?”

“Yes, but I didn’t expect they would take two helicopters, which ultimately saved everyone,” Hector explained, revealing his oversight.

Tatiana was instantly displeased. It was infuriating that they escaped death again!

“What do we do now? Does this mean Madisyn has already realized your hostility?” she asked, her tone edged with worry.

Hector’s response came with a steely calm. “Madisyn has been suspicious for a while. Whether she knows now or not is irrelevant—she lacks concrete evidence. But we must accelerate our efforts and secure our goals without further delay.”
