Chapter 539

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 539:

The directors were firmly convinced that the Chairman must be an important figure! With the chairman stepping in, they believed the issue would undoubtedly be resolved.

“If the problem can’t be fixed, then return all my money,” one of the directors demanded.

The manager attempted to soothe their frayed nerves, saying, “We’re all in this together. What’s the point in making such threats? Finding a solution is what truly matters.”

“Well, it’s not our fault!” another director snapped back. “The chairman will figure something out. Everyone, let’s remain calm,” the manager reassured them.

The meeting concluded on a decidedly sour note. Back in his office, the manager was taken aback to find Hector waiting for him.

“Chairman!” he exclaimed.

Hector’s expression remained steady, his voice deep and resonant. “Still no sign of Kathy?”

“No,” the manager replied, agitation evident in his tone. “The netizens aren’t as gullible as before. If we keep recycling the same excuses, no one will believe us.”

“What about the other artists?” Hector inquired.

“They’ve all fled! Should we capture them?” the manager asked, but quickly added, “They’re just causing a ruckus to grab public attention. If anything happens to them, the public will notice immediately. We can’t afford to act rashly.”

Hector understood the situation. His mature features took on a frosty demeanor, his eyes gleaming with icy resolve. Madisyn… she was truly smart.

He had always believed Dane was the most formidable of the Johns family, yet he found himself reconsidering. This girl, who had only rejoined the Johns family this year, proved to be the most enigmatic and discreet of them all.

“Find out where they are,” Hector commanded, his eyes narrowing.

This was a simple matter to investigate; their informants had already spotted them entering Edge Entertainment.

“They’re likely seeking refuge at Edge Entertainment. It’s their only option,” the manager speculated.

Hector chuckled darkly. “Well, isn’t that just the perfect solution?”

The manager was momentarily taken aback but soon grasped Hector’s intent, his eyes glimmering with admiration.

Meanwhile, at Edge Entertainment, Eleanor and her group stepped into the office, confronting Madisyn’s cool, indifferent gaze.

Leading the pack, Eleanor dropped to her knees before Madisyn. “Miss Johns, we sincerely apologize. We were foolish before. We realize that leaving the company made us traitors, but there is no other way out now. If you would only take us in, we would do anything you ask!” Eleanor pleaded, her entire body trembling. Global Entertainment had taken our Kathy, and it was clear they could do the same to them.

After their posts on Twitter, they were acutely aware that Global Entertainment would soon be hunting them down. They needed a formidable ally.

Madisyn laughed in exasperation. “Do you really think Edge Entertainment is a revolving door where you can waltz in and out at your leisure?”

The group dared not lift their heads, fully aware of the despicable nature of their actions. But now, their lives were at stake.

“Miss Johns, we’ll do anything if you’ll take us in!” Eleanor implored, bowing deeply, followed by the others. Madisyn regarded them with a frosty stare. “Do you understand that the moment you stepped foot in this office, you handed Global Entertainment an opportunity to reclaim its former glory?”

“How can that be? We all posted on Twitter. Everyone knows what kind of company Global Entertainment is now. They can’t possibly make a comeback!” Eleanor argued, her brows creased in a frown.

“Take a look for yourself,” Madisyn remarked coolly.

Eleanor fished out her phone and was met with a statement from Global Entertainment’s PR department. It featured photos of her and her group entering Edge Entertainment, brazenly accusing them of stealing secrets and framing Global Entertainment. As for Kathy, they alleged that she was being concealed by Eleanor and her crew.

Eleanor’s complexion drained of color, her body succumbing to weakness. She crumpled to the floor, utterly powerless in that moment.

The others gazed at their phone screens, a chill creeping down their spines. Global Entertainment’s narrative had masterfully transformed them from pitiful victims into perpetrators. The reasoning was plausible, especially considering the fierce rivalry between Edge Entertainment and Global Entertainment. It was entirely within the realm of possibility that Edge Entertainment had orchestrated this scheme to frame Global Entertainment.

The netizens who had once rallied behind them were now starting to waver.

“I don’t even know what to think anymore.”

“The corporate battle is brutal. I almost fell for their lies! I mean, in this day and age, who can just kill someone so easily?”

“Edge Entertainment really knows how to play the game. I admire their tactics.”

“This is all too much for me. Can someone break this down professionally?”

“Both narratives could be true. The crucial piece is Kathy. Was she taken out by Global Entertainment or hidden away by Edge Entertainment?”

Eleanor clutched her phone with a fierce grip, her knuckles turning white. They had gambled everything to unveil the truth about Global Entertainment, only to see their efforts crumble under the weight of their own missteps.

Had they not come here, the flames of scandal would never have reached Edge Entertainment. Eleanor wept uncontrollably.

“Eleanor, you swore you’d do anything, but I can’t take you in. Global Entertainment has their eyes on you. If you genuinely seek refuge, I can offer you an escape,” Madisyn said firmly.

A glimmer of hope ignited in everyone’s eyes.

“Go to the police,” Madisyn suggested. The group was momentarily taken aback but soon understood the meaning of her words. They filed out of the office.

Madisyn’s assistant strode in, sneering at their behavior. “They have no shame—betraying the company and now groveling for your protection! And to top it off, they’ve brought trouble to us!”

“Everyone faces the consequences of their actions; they’re making amends now,” Madisyn stated coolly. She immersed herself in her work. By afternoon, the latest hot news broke online.

A photograph had surfaced of Eleanor and her group being apprehended and escorted to the police station.
