Chapter 545
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 545:
Madisyn was speechless.
Howard asked Nalani to go back to her work and continued talking to Madisyn. âWhatâs this call about, Madisyn?â
âAre you and Nalani a couple now?â Madisyn asked bluntly.
After pausing momentarily, Howard answered, âWeâre planning to be.â
Madisyn suddenly felt sad.
Milly had done so much for Howard without his knowledge. And now, Milly had to see him with someone else. She must be hurting so much.
âWhatâs wrong, Madisyn?â Howard asked, concerned. He always noticed the smallest shifts in her mood. Yet, he remained oblivious to Millyâs constant presence by his side. Madisyn felt a deep pain in her heart but kept it to herself. She didnât want her brother caught up in trouble.
âItâs nothing, Howard. But have you really moved on from Milly?â Madisyn asked.
The smile on Howardâs face dimmed as he responded, âSheâs gone, Madisyn. What is there to move on from? You know why she got close to me.â
To Howard, Milly was beyond forgiveness.
âDo you love Nalani?â Madisyn continued.
After a moment of contemplation, Howard said, âSheâs a good match and has been kind. I think itâs worth a shot. Iâm at an age where settling down and getting married would make our parents happy.â
âNonsense. Youâre still young, Howard. You should marry for love. Anything else will only worry our parents,â Madisyn said.

âI have my reasons. Nalani is a good person,â Howard insisted. Unable to change his mind, Madisyn ended the call with a heavy sigh.
Howard put his phone away and looked out the window. The tree outside stood quiet in the night, enveloped in shadows. Nalani gazed at Howard with admiration and walked over to hold his arm. âMr. Johns, itâs late. We should call it a day.â
Howard gently pulled his arm away and said, âAlright, letâs go.â
The night was far from ordinary.
Madisyn wasnât the only one feeling uneasy.
Tatiana left the hospital and went straight to Hectorâs place. Hector didnât get off work until very late.
When she saw him, Tatiana greeted him, saying, âDarlingâ¦â
âSlap!â
Tatiana found herself on the floor, her hand on her cheek, looking up in disbelief. Hectorâs face was expressionless, as if someone else had struck her.
She gazed at Hector, stunned. In her memories, Hector had always been kind and polite, never once losing his cool.
Was it really Hector who had just hit her?
ââDarling?â Tatiana asked softly.
Hector extended his hand to help her up, softly touched her cheek, and said, âIâm sorry. Are you alright?â Tatiana smelled alcohol on his breath.
He was drunkâ¦
That explained it. Some people just lose control when they drinkâ¦
Feeling aggrieved, Tatiana embraced him tightly. âYou frightened me. Why have you been drinking? Is it because of the rumors online?â
âYes, Tatiana,â Hector answered quietly, yet his voice was steady.
âItâs okay. Youâre smart enough to handle this,â Tatiana reassured him, despite her own precarious situation. After all, she had declared that if Global Entertainment was behind Kathyâs ordeal, she would have to kneel and apologize.
âWill you help me?â Hector asked, his eyes locked on hers.
Tatiana replied, âTell me, how can I be of assistance?â
As Hector laid out the details, worry deepened on Tatianaâs face. âBut if I admit to that, wonât I be blamed? Will my film still be released?â
âAs long as Iâm here, you have nothing to worry about. If you donât step up, everyone will blame Global Entertainment,â Hector said, his gaze never leaving Tatiana. âTatiana, without Global Entertainment, you have no future.â
Tatiana was aware of this yet remained fearful.
âConsider it carefully, Tatiana. Iâm at a pivotal moment in my career. If Global Entertainment falls, my plans will fall through,â Hector said as he stroked her cheek, his tone chilling like a devilâs whisper.
Tatiana remained still, the wind howling outside the window. The following day brought gloomy weather.
Madisyn awoke to the howling wind, a stark sign of winterâs onset with a sharp drop in temperature.
Just a few days prior, Andrew had given her a down jacket. Madisyn disliked bulky clothing, yet today, she had no choice but to wear it.
