Chapter 550
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 550:
Susan smiled warmly at Madisyn, aware that these spices posed a challenge for most to identify. âItâs okay. Iâll help you pick out the spices you need.â
Madisyn selected more than a dozen spices from the extensive collection, arranging them thoughtfully before Susan, who stared in astonishment. âWow, you can make perfume too? Most people canât even discern which spices to use!â
âI know a little,â Madisyn replied. As a doctor, she possessed some knowledge in this realm. She chose not to involve herself further, settling into a nearby chair, ready to spring into action if Susan needed her. Halfway through, a waiter knocked softly and entered, delivering a pitcher of water and an array of snacks.
Susan, wholly absorbed in her task, felt the tug of thirst and reached for a glass. However, Madisyn, sensing something was off, swiftly grasped her hand.
At the same moment, Susan noticed a faint, unsettling scent wafting from the water. âThere might be something in this water,â Susan remarked, her expression shifting to one of concern.
Madisyn said with calm certainty, âIf Iâm not mistaken, this water is likely laced with a sedative. Take a sip, and youâll fall asleep. If Iâm right, it was probably sent by the princess in the next room.â
The princess, steeped in her royal pride, would undoubtedly find it hard to stomach the disrespect shown to her. Yet, with such devious machinations, did she truly deserve the title of princess?
âThis woman is simply outrageous!â Susan exclaimed, unable to restrain herself any longer. With determination, she approached the array of spices, selecting a handful before skillfully blending them together.
A mere fifteen minutes later, she deftly wrapped the concocted powder in paper, rolling it tightly before heading to the window and blowing it toward the neighboring room.
Madisyn offered an approving thumbs up. âImpressive! You managed to whip up a sedative fragrance in such a short time!â

Susan replied, âI didnât want to cause her trouble, but she pushed too far. We need to show her what weâre capable of, or sheâll keep causing us problems.â
Madisyn couldnât help but admire her greatlyâthis was the fierce Susan she had always known.
Meanwhile, in the next room, the princess was utterly engrossed in making her perfume, exuding confidence in her skills and unwavering determination to win the competition. A bodyguard leaned in to whisper something in her ear, and a satisfied smile spread across her face.
However, before long, a yawn escaped her lips as she felt an unsettling wave of drowsiness wash over her. Though she had ensured a restful nightâs sleep for the competition, an inexplicable fatigue now tugged at her senses. She pinched herself, trying to stave off the creeping lethargy, but the weight of sleep was overwhelming, her eyelids growing heavier with each passing moment.
âPrincess, whatâs the matter?â
âSomething feels off! Someone has drugged me!â she gritted her teeth.
âBut no one came in here. How could you have been drugged?â the bodyguard replied.
The woman was equally baffled, and then a thought struck her like lightning. âIt must be those two women!â
Her mind was clouded, fighting against the overwhelming urge to succumb to sleep, but she struggled to concentrate on her task.
Three hours later, the competition drew to a close, with the doors of the contestantsâ rooms sliding open automatically. The judges stood waiting at the thresholds, ready to collect everyoneâs perfumes.
The princess thrust her work into a judgeâs hands before striding over to Susan with an air of fury.
With her arms crossed and an imperious glare, she barked, âGet her!â
Instantly, her two bodyguards sprang into action, restraining Susan, whose expression darkened. âWhat are you doing?â
âYou drugged me, didnât you?â Jessica Wilson shot back, her voice laced with indignation. âYou Lorpondians are quite crafty. Take her away!â
The uproar naturally attracted the attention of the other contestants. Witnessing Jessicaâs blatant bullying of Susan, they cast sympathetic glances in her direction, yet felt utterly powerless. After all, Jessica was a princess of Aswil.
Jada stepped out of her room, arching an eyebrow at the unfolding scene. She felt thrilled. She had been contemplating how to eliminate Susan from the equation, and Susan had foolishly provoked Princess Jessica! This princess was notorious for her vengeful and ruthless nature!
But why on earth was Madisyn still sticking around with Susan? âI advise you not to do this,â Madisyn said.
âAnd who are you?â Jessica shot her a dismissive glance, gesturing for the bodyguards to escort Susan away.
Madisyn pressed on, âDo you know who she is? Sheâs Jadaâs older sister. Surely youâve heard of Jada Riggs, the acclaimed perfumer from Lorpond! If you dare treat my friend this way, Jada wonât take it lightly!â
Jessicaâs brow furrowed in irritation. Before coming here, she had done her homework on the potential winners, and Jadaâs name had been on the list. She turned to face the crowd, her gaze locking onto Jada. âAre you Jada Riggs?â she asked icily. âI intend to take your sister away. What are you going to do about it?â
The eyes of the onlookers were fixed on Jada. A cold sweat broke out on her brow as Jada found herself in a difficult position. Everyone was well aware of her relationship with Susan; if she stood idly by, she would undoubtedly be branded as cold and heartless.
But this was Princess Jessica! Jada had no desire to provoke this tyrannical woman. What in the world was Madisyn thinking? Didnât she want to stop being Susanâs friend? Why was she suddenly stepping up for Susan now?
âSusan, I just heard Princess Jessica claim you drugged her. This is a competition; how could you stoop so low?â Jada wore her customary expression of feigned softness and helplessness. âI know you want to win, but you canât resort to such underhanded tactics. Sheâs just an innocent contestant!â
