Chapter 566

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 566:

This had been Susan’s goal from the beginning, but she hadn’t expected it to happen so smoothly. She had always thought her father favored her more.

“Alright, but I wouldn’t be able to manage all these shops on my own,” Susan said.

“Don’t worry,” Esteban reassured her. “I’ll hire a professional manager to help you oversee everything.”

Susan clutched the gift tightly. Though it was material wealth, it bore a tremendous emotional weight. She couldn’t shake the nagging suspicion that her father was bestowing these gifts not out of affection, but because she had become useful to him.

“Once you’re married, build a good life with Dane. He’s a good man, just let him know,” Esteban said, his eyes filled with an unusual tenderness and affection that Susan had never witnessed before.

“Okay,” she murmured, her head bowed, a profound heaviness settling in her heart.

She had yearned for such a warm family moment for years, yet now, it felt strangely uncomfortable.

The next day, everyone was excited when they saw the big news: Susan and Dane would hold their engagement party soon, and the entire family wanted to celebrate with them. Today was also the day Jada was released from the basement. Her legs wobbled, and her once vibrant face looked pale. She had lost ten pounds, leaving her looking frail and exhausted. Mara felt so sorry for her that she couldn’t help but hug her, tears filling her eyes.

“Your father is so cruel. How can he have the heart to lock you up for seven days?” Mara cried even harder.

At that moment, Jada’s transformation was startling. Her eyes were cold and hardened with hatred. However, there was a surprising calmness in her demeanor.

After eating and changing into a sleek, elegant outfit, Jada stood in front of the mirror, checking her appearance. Her dress accentuated her slim figure and hid her swollen knees. Although she still looked pale, the makeup she applied made her regain some of her nobility and dazzling appearance.

Mara told Jada about Susan’s engagement party and Esteban’s plan to give the Riggs Group to Susan.

With tears in her eyes, Mara cursed Esteban for being heartless. Jada, on the other hand, remained calm. She said indifferently, “Should I be surprised? I’ve known for a long time that he only cares about Susan.”

“What are we going to do, Jada? We can’t just sit still and wait,” Mara said, clearly distraught.

“Wait? I’m not the one who sits still and waits,” Jada sneered. Then she noticed a call from Wesley. She turned to Mara and said, “Mom, I’m going out first.”

Soon, Jada arrived at the racetrack.

Wesley had been busy over the past few days, organizing a skilled team and reaching out to former HB Club members, convincing them to join him and create a fully-fledged racing team. He was eager to make a name in international racing and was excited to tell Jada about it. But when he turned to look at her, he was startled to see how frail she looked.

“Jada, what happened? How did you become like this?”
