Chapter 585
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 585:
The crowd exchanged glances, realization dawning on them. Rosemarie had been dealing with an old wound. With a heavy sigh, Rosemarie added, âIâve lost⦠Iâm not as strong as I used to be.â
âYou didnât lose!â Jada, now certain of her masterâs authenticity, shook her head. âEven hurt, youâve done so much. Madisyn could never compare to what youâve accomplished!â
A wave of regret swept over everyone standing there. They had been so quick to believe Madisyn, easily doubting Rosemarie. If any of them were hurt, they would never have been able to pull off what Rosemarie had.
Wesley, feeling embarrassed, said, âRosemarie, why didnât you tell us you were injured sooner?â
He couldnât believe for a second that Madisyn had fairly beaten Rosemarie. Her win didnât sit right.
He shot Madisyn a sharp look. âDid you know Rosemarie was hurt and deliberately challenge her just to make yourself look good?â
Madisyn stared back, speechless for a moment. She thought Wesley was being ridiculous.
âShe never mentioned anything about her injury before the race. Now sheâs playing the victim after losing the competition?â Madisyn sneered. âYouâre not Rosemarie. Look at you, fooling everyone.â
Jada, furious, snapped back, âMadisyn, stop talking nonsense! Rosemarieâs my teacher. Even injured, she performed well in the competition. If she hadnât been hurt, you wouldnât have had a chance.â
Wesley had always trusted Jada, so when she said her master was Rosemarie, he didnât question it. However, when Madisyn mocked Rosemarieâhis idolâWesley couldnât stay quiet.
He swung his fist straight at Madisyn.
Before it could land, Andrew stepped in. He grabbed Wesleyâs arm and shoved him hard enough that Wesley stumbled. Wesley, fuming, glared at him.
âAndrew, how can you defend her? Madisynâs completely out of line! Donât you care about racing? Donât you look up to Rosemarie? Sheâs such an amazing racer! How can you stand by and let Madisyn trash her?â
Andrew shot back calmly, âRosemarie lost, Wesley. Open your eyes. If she had an injury, she shouldâve mentioned it before the race, not after. That just looks like an excuse. And letâs be realâRosemarieâs not the type to act helpless just because she didnât win.â
Wesleyâs confidence started to shake.
That was true. Rosemarie was tougher than that. Was this woman really her?
Wesley paused, unsure.
Then, Rosemarieâs voice came, slow and steady. âI quit racing because my injury holds me back. If you donât believe me, then just leave.â She turned, ready to walk away.
Jada was quick to grab her arm, her voice firm. âI believe you, Master!â
Jada turned toward Wesley, her expression sharp. âWesley, werenât you the one who admired Rosemarie the most? Are you really going to give up on her just because sheâs not performing well anymore?â
Wesleyâs hands tightened into fists, his body shaking slightly.
