Chapter 592

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 592:

Maxine asked, “Not a secretary?”

Norton shook his head and said, “She was a blonde woman, not a business partner.”

Maxine pinched Norton playfully, exclaiming, “If you knew she was a business partner, why did you want to say something?”

Didn’t he realize that girls were often suspicious? What if Madisyn felt upset because of this?

Norton quickly scrambled to apologize. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”

Madisyn, however, remained unfazed, simply lifting her cup to take a sip of water. The little episode faded swiftly into the background.

Halfway through the meal, a commotion erupted at the door.

“Miss, you can’t go in.”

“I know someone inside.”

Madisyn turned her gaze and spotted Jada and Wesley.

What a small world it was, running into each other like this.

Wesley waved at Norton, calling out.

Since they were already at the entrance, there was no reason to turn them away. Norton glanced at Maxine with hopeful eyes, silently seeking her approval.

Maxine frowned. Today was supposed to be a quiet meal with Madisyn, so why were these people intruding? She remained silent, but Norton quickly picked up on her meaning. Turning to Wesley, he said, “Let’s catch up another time.”

Wesley protested, “Norton, can’t we join?”

“Sorry,” Norton replied.

It was clear to Wesley that Maxine was the one who didn’t want Jada and him there. Frustration bubbled up inside him as he noticed the growing closeness between Norton and Madisyn.

This infuriating woman! She had stolen his friends away! With no other option, Wesley and Jada left.

Maxine watched them go, clearly displeased. Norton quickly reassured her, “They just happened to run into us here. Forget about them. We’re here to enjoy our meal. If you don’t want them around, I won’t let them join.”

“Okay,” Maxine nodded.

Madisyn continued eating, but Wesley’s departing glance left her with a lingering unease. This feeling soon proved justified.

After answering a phone call, Norton looked back at them, his expression stunned.

Maxine asked, “What’s wrong? Tell us.”

Norton replied, “Wesley has taken over the Lambert Group.”

The internet was buzzing with the news: Wesley had been promoted to CEO of the Lambert Group today.

“Is that really so shocking?” Maxine muttered, slightly dissatisfied.

Norton explained, “It’s not just that. His first act as CEO was to cut all partnerships with the Johns and Klein families.”
