Chapter 60
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 60:
âHow can that be? Two hundred thousand sales, just this morning, they barely had anything. How did they suddenly close two hundred thousand deals?â Josieâs voice was full of disbelief as she stared at the skyrocketing sales figures. She muttered, âCould Madisyn have gotten desperate and paid people to buy her products? That would be foolish.â
In her mind, that was the only explanationâMadisyn must have orchestrated some underhanded scheme. Josie felt a smug satisfaction at the thought, lowering her opinion of Madisyn even further. She chuckled to herself, thinking Madisynâs move was utterly ridiculous.
However, while Josie clung to this explanation, Kristineâs smile began to waver. She had just received a notification about a trending news story. As she clicked the link, her heart skipped a beat.
âIs Natural Beauty Making a Miraculous Comeback?â
Reports flooded in about how Natural Beautyâs products were not only alleviating allergies but were also seeing a surge in salesâtens of millions of dollars in a single day. The figures were still climbing, with predictions that Natural Beauty could surpass Migge Skincareâs best sales numbers.
Kristineâs previously calm demeanor stiffened as she scanned through posts and reviews. Users raved about their improved skin conditions, praising Natural Beautyâs ingredients. The comments were overwhelmingly positive, full of praise for the company that had once been plagued by scandal.
From the other end of the call, Josieâs voice came again, tinged with shock. âHow is that possible?â
Kristineâs eyes glinted with realization as she murmured, âIt seems Madisyn really knows what sheâs doing. Sheâs only been in charge for a short time, yet sheâs completely turned things around.â
Josie scoffed, refusing to believe it. âShe must have paid for those reviews! She knows her way around the internet, but she doesnât realize that the higher she climbs, the harder sheâll fall.â Her sneer was audible, but beneath it, Josieâs confidence wavered.
Kristine remained silent.
Meanwhile, at Riggi Huggi, Madisyn was thoroughly enjoying the dishes.
âSince you like the food here so much, youâd probably love the meals at my place too,â Andrew said with a soft smile, his eyes lingering on her.
For a moment, Madisyn found herself torn between admiring the food or the man sitting across from her.
âWhy would you say that?â she asked, curious.
âThe chef here trained under my personal chef,â Andrew explained nonchalantly, a hint of pride in his voice.
Madisyn smiled. âYou must have quite the influence in the culinary world here in Gemond.â
âIn a way,â Andrew chuckled.
The conversation flowed easily between them, and soon, Madisyn found herself wondering what dining at Andrewâs home might be like.
Midway through dinner, Madisyn excused herself to visit the restroom. Upon leaving, she unexpectedly ran into someone she hadnât seen in a long timeâGiana.
Giana, who had been on a phone call, quickly ended it as soon as she spotted Madisyn. They exchanged looks, tension building in the air.
âItâs been a while,â Giana said, her lips curving into a tight smile. âYouâre living with your real parents now. Howâs everything?â
Madisyn took note of Gianaâs high-end designer attire and replied with a polite smile, âEverythingâs going well. You seem to be thriving yourself.â
âIâve invested quite a bit. Itâs paying off,â Giana replied, her tone laced with arrogance.
The conversation shifted, and Gianaâs expression grew more serious. âI hear youâre now the president of Natural Beauty.â
âThatâs right,â Madisyn confirmed, her voice steady.
Gianaâs brows furrowed. The calm confidence Madisyn exuded was unsettling. After leaving the Chapman family, Giana had expected Madisyn to struggle. How had she managed to rise to such a position?
âDid you come here with that man?â Giana asked, a slight edge in her voice.
âWhich man are you talking about?â Madisyn responded, confused.
Giana waved the question off, her tone growing more critical. âListen, you should stop paying for fake reviews. Migge Skincare wonât stand by while you play these games. If you apologize now, I can help you smooth things over.â
âFake reviews?â Madisyn repeated, her smile fading. âThe positive feedback for Natural Beautyâs products is real, Giana. I donât need to resort to tricks.â
Giana sighed, clearly exasperated. âMadisyn, donât be naive. Youâre no match for the Reed family. They could crush you. The only family that can stand up to them in Gemond is the Johns family. Do you think youâre one of them?â
Madisynâs eyes narrowed. âMaybe I am.â
âYouâre being ridiculous,â Giana snapped, before turning on her heel and walking away.
Later that evening, Andrew drove Madisyn home. As they pulled up to the Johns familyâs residence, Madisyn spotted a familiar car parked by the gateâDaneâs. She felt a pang of guilt as she stepped out of Andrewâs car.
âMr. Johns, hello,â Andrew said smoothly, his tone respectful yet confident.
Dane, standing near his car, offered a polite smile, though there was an unmistakable coldness in his gaze. âThank you for everything, Mr. Klein.â
The tension between the two men was palpable, but Madisyn pretended not to notice.
