Chapter 649
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 649:
Jada had been drifting in a fog for the past few days. Her spirits lifted only when she learned that the Qiviut Organizationâs assessment was about to begin. If she could secure a spot with them, her future would be bright, and she wouldnât have to rely on the Riggs family anymore.
She was immersed in her studies when Wesleyâs call interrupted her.
âJada!â Wesleyâs voice came through, tight and strained.
Jada asked, âArenât you grounded? Did your grandfather let you out?â
âNo, Jada. I couldnât bear the thought of being cooped up at home, so I did something that made my grandpa even angrier. Now he wants to cut ties with me,â Wesley said. âJada, I have nowhere to go now.â
âWhat? Are you serious?â Jada gasped, shock washing over her.
âYour grandfather wouldnât be that heartless, would he?â
âZahirâs back, and naturally, my grandpa favors him,â Wesley lamented, his voice dripping with defeat. Jada struggled to process the news. That old man, Clayton, was far too biased!
âJada, can you take me in?â Wesleyâs voice brimmed with hope.
âI⦠of course, I can,â Jada replied.
Wesleyâs spirits soared. He knew full well that Jada was far too kind-hearted to turn him away.
âItâs just that Iâm not in a great situation either. My parents are going through a messy divorce. I can give you some cash to stay in a hotel for now,â Jada said.
Wesley frowned and asked, âJada, donât you have your own place?â
âThat house was given to me by my dad, but now he doesnât want me to keep it. Thereâs nothing I can do,â Jada sighed.
In reality, she was now living in that house. The relentless bickering between her parents had become unbearable, and with the looming assessment pressing down on her, she knew she had to escape.
Wesley reluctantly agreed.
Once he hung up, he turned to Zahir, a smug grin spreading across his face. âSee? I told you Jada wouldnât abandon me.â Zahir remained silent, his expression unreadable.
Moments later, Wesley received a money transfer from Jada.
It was ten thousand dollars.
His eyes widened in disbelief; surely, he must have misread the figure.
Ten thousand?
That was a sum he typically spent in a single day. To him, this amount was practically worthless.
He couldnât help but ask Jada, âJada, did you accidentally send the wrong amount?â
âWesley, to be honest, with my parents going through a divorce, I donât have much money right now. Youâll have to make do with it,â she replied.
Wesley responded, âI seeâ¦â
Zahir observed this with a sneer, taunting, âGo ahead. Letâs see how long you can survive on ten thousand.â
