Chapter 76
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 76:
âYes, I do,â Andrew said.
Waylon expressed his surprise, saying, âAndrew, youâre like a brother to me!â
With his usual casual elegance, Andrew looked at Waylon. âShould I instead hate her?â
This left Waylon slightly taken aback. That did seem to make sense, didnât it?
âNo,â Waylon replied, âdo you like my sister because of me, or do you genuinely like her?â
After pausing to think, Andrew admitted, âBecause of you.â Without Waylon, how could he have met Madisyn?
Feeling a wave of relief, Waylon exclaimed, âI knew we were best friends!â Clearly, Dane had been overthinking things. After all, Andrew was his close friend; it wasnât likely he harbored romantic feelings for his sister. Andrewâs affection for Madisyn stemmed from his connection to him.
Following their meal, they strolled through the back garden. Andrewâs garden boasted a collection of rare plants, and Madisyn showed an interest.
âWould you like to stay over tonight? Itâs quite lovely here at night,â Andrew said.
Waylon nodded in agreement, then looked at Madisyn.
After a brief hesitation, Madisyn responded, âIf Waylon is staying, Iâll stay too.â
âItâs getting late. We might as well stay here.â Waylon yawned. âIâm quite tired after the flight today.â
âAlright, Iâll get the guest rooms ready.â
Andrew designated the southernmost room for Waylon. âItâs quiet here. Youâll get some rest, and no one will bother you.â
Your adventure awaits at gαâηÏνððsâ¤cãm
âI hadnât realized you were so thoughtful,â Waylon expressed his gratitude. âSo, where do you two sleep?â
âWe live just over there.â
âOkay.â Waylon scratched his head, sensing something odd but unable to pinpoint what it was.
Since it was late, they all headed to their separate rooms for the night.
Madisyn walked with Andrew to a room. He opened the door and said, âThis is your room.â
Inside, the decor was impressively elegant. The blue and white theme gave the room a fresh and beautiful appearance, with attention to detail evident everywhere.
âAnd yours?â Madisyn asked.
âNext to yours,â Andrew pointed at the next room.
Madisyn remarked, âThis could easily lead to misunderstandings.â
âHow so? Iâm right here if you need anything,â Andrew said with a smile, his demeanor both noble and aloof.
Was he pretending to be naive? Madisyn wondered. Choosing not to challenge his pretense, Madisyn retired for the night.
She slept soundly, without dreams.
The next morning, Waylon planned to take Madisyn out for some leisure time. With Waylon around, Madisyn took a few days off from work.
Meanwhile, the finals of the much-anticipated national dance competition kicked off. The event took place in Ansportâs largest exhibition center, drawing thousands of spectators. This event was crucial as it was a qualifier for the international dance competition.
It had been years since dancers from Lorpond had ranked well in the international competition, so the public was keenly interested, hoping to see outstanding dancers that would bring honor to the nation.
Backstage, the dancers were preparing. Lynda was giving Kristine some last-minute advice. Elaine, Glenn, Dane, and Waylon were all present.
Elaine held a bouquet of flowers and handed them to Kristine, saying, âGo for it, Kristine. We all believe in you!â
Kristine accepted them with a smile. âThank you, Mom. Iâll do my best to win first place. Whereâs Madisyn?â She scanned the area but didnât see Madisyn.
âShe went out early this morning. She might have had other matters to attend to.â
âWell, okay. At such a crucial moment, I wish she could be here.â Kristineâs voice held a trace of disappointment mixed with a subtle undertone of satisfaction and irony. Of course, Madisyn wouldnât come. Kristine was shining too brightly; surely Madisyn wouldnât want to witness her success!
Lyndaâs expression hardened slightly at the mention of Madisyn. Being more experienced, she could easily guess the undercurrents of a young womanâs feelings. She shared Kristineâs sentiment. If Madisyn was absent at such a pivotal time, it only meant she didnât want to be here.
âFamily should come first, shouldnât it? What could be more important than Kristineâs big day?â Lynda remarked coolly.
Kristine quickly offered a âthoughtfulâ explanation, saying, âItâs okay, Aunt. Perhaps Madisyn truly is tied up with something. Iâm just glad you could make it.â
They chatted briefly before Kristine returned to her practice. Elaine and the others decided to step outside.
As they exited, they happened to pass by Jenna and her family, who had just arrived.
Jeffry immediately recognized Glenn. Phyllisâs gaze was fixed on Elaine.
âThat womanâ¦â Phyllis muttered under her breath.
âWho?â Jeffry was confused.
Phyllis clarified, âShe was the woman who stood up for Madisyn at the mall last time.â
Jeffryâs expression darkened. âAre you sure?â
âYes, it was definitely her,â Jenna chimed in. âDad, whatâs going on?â
Jeffry was about to break out in a cold sweat. âDo you see who sheâs with? Thatâs Mr. Glenn Johns!â
