Chapter 83
Comeback Of The Adored Heiress
Chapter 83:
Madisyn squinted happily, the corners of her eyes crinkling as she savored the moment.
âWhen are you heading to the competition?â Andrew asked, his elegant all-black suit making him look both refined and distinguished.
âThe day after tomorrow,â Madisyn responded.
âArenât you nervous at all?â
âNope! Not at all,â she replied, taking another bite of her cake with a relaxed demeanor.
Andrewâs gaze lingered on her. He was captivated by the clear, bright quality of her eyes. They resembled the tranquil surface of a summer lakeâeffortlessly calm and deeply alluring.
As Madisyn enjoyed her cake, oblivious to the surroundings, another pair of eyes watched her intently.
That person was Jenna.
Lately, things at the Chapman Group hadnât been going well. Jenna had finally managed to lock down a meeting with a key client, Harrison Miller, whose sleazy demeanor she had tolerated because of the potential benefits his partnership could offer.
The meeting had gone well, raising Jennaâs hopes for a boost in Chapman Groupâs status.
âMr. Miller, let me escort you out,â Jenna said with a practiced smile as they concluded their business discussions.
As Harrison stood, his attention was suddenly drawn away by a sight across the cafeâit was Madisyn.

Jenna turned to see what had captivated him and caught Madisyn in the company of that pretty boy again. The scene piqued Jennaâs interest; the pretty boy with Madisyn looked strikingly familiar. Wasnât he the same guy who had stepped out of that sleek Lamborghini the other day?
It couldnât be. Could it?
Jenna didnât believe Madisyn could end up with a handsome and affluent man. In her view, Madisyn was supposed to always be a step behind her. Here, Jenna had managed to secure a partnership with Harrison, and yet Madisyn was wasting her time away with a frivolous relationship.
âMr. Miller, do you know my sister? Ever since her expulsion from our family, sheâs been aimless, her personal life a chaotic mess. She seems to have a penchant for surrounding herself with various men,â Jenna remarked, nodding subtly towards Madisyn.
Harrisonâs brow furrowed in confusion. âVarious?â
âYes, mostly male models, or so it seems. That appears to be her type,â Jenna said, injecting a note of feigned concern while observing Harrisonâs increasingly perplexed expression.
Buoyed by what she interpreted as a shared disapproval, Jenna couldnât resist the urge to confront Madisyn directly.
âMadisyn, itâs been so long, yet youâve shown no signs of change. Canât you live without a man? You donât seem interested in self-improvement, just in hanging out with pretty boys.â
Madisyn, interrupted mid-bite, replied coolly, âMust you bark like a dog while people are eating? Canât you find relevance without stirring up trouble?â
Jenna, a flush of embarrassment coloring her cheeks, retorted, âIâm only looking out for your best interest, Madisyn. How can you misunderstand me?â
âMy personal affairs are none of your business. If youâre that idle, perhaps you should focus on building some good karma instead of meddling,â Madisyn retorted sharply, dismissing her with a wave.
Jennaâs temper flared. âYouâre the one on a path to ruin, fraternizing with random male models as if in a moral freefall. Donât you realize how unsavory that crowd can be? Itâs repulsive.â
Despite her efforts to remain scornful, Jenna found herself unexpectedly taken aback by Andrewâs undeniable attractiveness. This was undoubtedly the most handsome man she had ever laid eyes upon. However, thinking of how many women he must have slept around with gave Jenna a reason to feel disgusted.
âMadisyn, look at your poor parents, toiling away in the countryside, while youâre here lavishly wasting money. Donât you have any remorse? Youâre utterly self-centeredâ¦â
Before she could continue her tirade, a sudden splash of water silenced her, leaving her dazed and speechless.
Jennaâs eyes widened in disbelief as she turned to face Andrew.
The gall of this man, daring to splash her with water, was outrageous.
âHow dare you? Do you have any idea who I am? I could ruin your career with just one call,â Jenna said, her anger boiling over.
Madisynâs laughter rang out, filled with incredulity. âOh? Are you truly that influential, capable of ruining someoneâs career with just a call?â
âHeâs just a model. A mere nod from the Chapman family is enough to banish him from Gemond,â Jenna retorted with haughty assurance.
Madisyn couldnât contain her amusement, glancing at Andrew to gauge his reaction to Jennaâs boastful claim.
Andrewâs expression remained stoic, his emotions unreadable.
Meanwhile, Harrison, who had been quietly observing the exchange, seemed increasingly agitated. He had harbored doubts about the manâs identity, but Andrewâs demeanor now left no room for uncertainty. This was indeed Andrew from Ansport, a figure of considerable repute and influence.
âShut up!â Harrison suddenly burst out, his patience snapping.
As Jenna continued her tirade, he delivered a sharp slap across her face, stunning everyone.
Glaring at Jenna with fierce anger, he declared, âJenna, if youâre looking to destroy yourself, leave me out of it. Our deal is off, and I refuse to associate with the Chapman family in any way.â
Jenna stood frozen, her face a mask of shock. âMr. Miller, what is the meaning of this?â
