Chapter 1012
The Secretly Rich Man
Gerald Crawford:The Secretly Rich Man Novel (Invisible or Poorest) Chapter 1012
Once their meal was over, Gerald left the hotel together with Zander and the others. Upon arriving at the hotelâs entrance, they were promptly greeted by a butler who immediately said, âSome people from the Long family in Yanken wish to pay you a visit, Chairman Lovewell!â
âThe Longs? Humph! For what reason have they come over to visit me? Who did they send over to be their representative?â replied Zander who was clearly much more confident now that Gerald had agreed to help him.
âThey sent the second lady of the Long family! Sheâs currently waiting to meet you and she even brought along several great gifts to celebrate the success of the treasure exchange event!â explained the butler.
Upon hearing that, Gerald lifted his head slightly.
The second lady of the Long family? Could it really be
âDoes the Long familyâs representative bear the surname of Yorke, by any chance?â asked Gerald.
In response, the butler immediately smiled before saying, âShe does, indeed!â
So it really was Xavia!
For some reason, Gerald felt rather peculiar the moment he heard that Xavia was here. After all, he hadnât met her for over a year now and he had completely forgotten about her until today.
With the passing of time, it was natural for incidents of the past to slowly be forgotten. However, there was one incident that Gerald knew he wouldnât ever be able to forget.
That incident being the time when he was being pursued by both the Longs and the Moldells almost an entire year ago. While both families had desperately tried to kill him back then, Xavia had let him off, essentially saving his life.
âItâs been over a year now⦠I wonder how sheâs doing now⦠Regardless, she deserves to live a peaceful life⦠In other words, itâs better if we donât meet at all,â Gerald thought to himself before laughing slightly bitterly.
âMr. Crawfordâ¦? Mr. Crawfordâ¦â whispered Zander beside him.
ââ¦Hmm?â replied Gerald as he snapped out of his daze.
âHaha! I was just wondering where youâre currently staying. If itâs convenient for you, why not move into the Lovewell familyâs manor for now? Iâll tell the others to arrange the best room for you if you agree,â
suggested Zander.
âSounds good,â replied Gerald with a nod.
With things decided just like that, all of them then returned to the Lovewell family manor.
Upon arriving there, Zander and Gerald parted ways. While Gerald headed for his new room, Zander himself headed to the reception area of his home to meet up with Xavia.
âItâs a pleasure to meet you, Miss Yorke. Iâve seen the list of gifts you presented to us, and I must say that all of them are extremely expensive and valuable! Our family would feel bad for accepting all of them!â said Zander cordially.
âYouâre being way too modest, Chairman Lovewell! Youâve made some time to meet me despite your packed schedule! That alone is already a blessing to the Long family!â replied Xavia.
Hearing that, Zander smiled as he looked at Xavia. Since the Longs were allowing such a young lady to deal with such important things, Zander was sure that she had all sorts of tricks and skills up her sleeves.
Even though he knew that, the gracefulness that she expressed through the prudent way she spokeâ
as they exchanged pleasantriesâovershadowed any wariness that Zander initially had. He was well aware of it too, and that made him respect Xavia even more.
âSince youâre a busy man, Chairman Lovewell, I wonât beat around the bush. Iâve come here today in wonder if youâve read the cooperation proposal that the Long family drafted. If possible, the Longs from Yanken truly wish to have a strong cooperation with the Lovewells. If you agree, then the Longs will instantly provide the Lovewell family with a project worth a billion and five hundred million dollars.
Consider it our way of expressing our sincerity.
Upon hearing that, Zander felt his eyelids twitch slightly. Though he was clearly moved, he kept his cool. After all, he was in no hurry to reveal what he was truly feeling.
âWe appreciate your trust in us. Regardless, putting talk about cooperation aside for the moment, I heard from your people that you seem to have some cousins here in the Logan Province. Iâm not sure if youâve already heard from them about how we do things here in the Logan Provinceâ¦â
The good relationship between the Longs and Moldells was no secret among those working in the business field. However, the same couldnât be said about the relationship between the Moldells and Lovewells.
Due to that, it was natural for Zander to want to know more details about the affair since a Long representative was now at his door.
âYouâre quite well informed, Chairman Lovewell. I do indeed have a few cousins and relatives living here. Itâs their hometown, after all. However, we havenât been in touch with each other for many, many years. As a result, you may as well just treat it as if itâs my first time here in the Logan Province. In other words, Iâm afraid Iâm not quite familiar with the procedures here that you mentioned. â
âRegardless, you can be assured of one thing. Once you gain the project, the Lovewells will definitely earn money. I feel that the bond between the Longs and the Lovewells will simultaneously also be strengthened, donât you think?â replied Xavia with a smile.
In response, Zander simply nodded.
At that moment, the butler entered the reception area and said, âEverything has been appropriately arranged for Mr. Crawford, Chairman Lovewell. May I know if thereâs anything else that you wish for me to do?â
âNothing for the moment. Just be sure to tell the others to serve Mr. Crawford well. None of them are to slack off!â
