Chapter 1723
The Secretly Rich Man
Gerald Crawford:The Secretly Rich Man Novel (Invisible or Poorest) Chapter 1723 ââ¦Miss Zorn?â says the narrator. Is it you, sir?â As he faced the trees, Gerald enquired.
ââ¦Gerald?â So, itâs you!â exclaimed Juno, as she and her servants hurriedly emerged from the trees.
âMiss Zorn, what brings you here?â As he looked at her, Gerald was taken aback.
âWhat do you mean when you say what brought us here?â
Itâs been two days since you left! Even so, I had a feeling you were still alive!
Iâm just glad I was able to track you down! What are you doing all the way out here, anyway?â
Gerald turned to look at Old Hughes for a brief moment after hearing Junoâs question before awkwardly replying, ââ¦About that⦠Letâs just discuss it when we get back. âHow are the others doing?â says the narrator.
âDonât worry, theyâre all doing fine. Theyâre currently recuperating at the Zorn familyâs home!â Gerald breathed a sigh of relief as Juno replied with a smile.
âAll right, then⦠âWho is he nowâ¦?â Juno inquired, raising a brow and casting a glance at Old Hughes.
âThis is Old Hughes, and heâs the one who saved me!â Gerald said after a brief moment of staring at the elderly gentleman.
ââ¦Oh? I see what you mean! So, Old Hughes, itâs a pleasure to meet you! Juno Zorn: My name is Juno Zorn, and I am the Zorn familyâs eldest young lady! âMany thanks for rescuing Gerald!â Juno said this in an obnoxious tone.
âThereâs no need to thank me!â Old Hughes replied with a smile. Anyone would have acted in the same way!
After all, as the saying goes, âsaving a life is more valuable than constructing a seven-story pagodaâ!
Also, the pleasure is mine, Zorn familyâs eldest young lady!â
While he was familiar with the Zorns, this was Old Hugheâs first encounter with a member of the family.
âWell, now that youâre safe, Gerald, letâs get back to my place!â Juno exclaimed. After all, it wasnât exactly safe to stay out here for extended periods of time.
When Gerald realised this, he turned to face the old man and asked, âAgreed!â Why donât you join us, Old Hughes, while weâre on the subject?
Regardless of what you say, I want to express my gratitude for everything youâve done!â
âGerald is correct! With that in mind, Old Hughes, please come along with us!â Juno seconded the motion.
Old Hughes, on the other hand, just smiled and shook his head before saying, âWhat that sounds lovely, Iâll have to refuseâ¦â
Gerald could only helplessly say, ââ¦Well, alright thenâ¦,â when he saw the old man was truly unwilling to come along. Since that is the case, please accept my heartfelt gratitude! Donât worry, Iâll find a way to repay your kindness!â
Old Hughes simply replied, âAlright, alright, off you go!â with a chuckle. Remember to be cautious out there! Make good use of it!â
Gerald gave a firm nod when he heard that. Gerald would have used the sword properly even if the old man hadnât reminded him.
After that, Gerald, Juno, and her men slowly vanished into the forestâ¦
A shadowy figure leapt out of the forest, followed by a dozen more men in black garb, not long after that group had leftâ¦
Stopping right in front of Old Hughes, the shadowy figure asked, âHow did it go, Master Hughes?â with a sinister expression.
âThe sword is now in Geraldâs hands,â Old Hughes simply replied, staring back at the shadowy figure.
With that said, itâs now up to you to get to work!â
