Chapter 1954
The Secretly Rich Man
Gerald Crawford: The Secretly or invisible Rich Man Chapter 1954
Whatever the case was, the stall Gerald and Raine had chosen to eat at was established by an old couple.
After sitting down, Gerald immediately called out, âBoss!â
Upon hearing that, an old woman quickly walked over to their table, handing both of them menus as she said, âWell, hello there! Come have a look at what youâd like to have!â
Hearing that, the duo began scanning through their menusâ¦
Truth be told, this was Raineâs first time eating at a night market. With that in mind, she was rightfully overwhelmed by the immense amount of options the menu had to offer.
Gerald, on the other hand, had been a regular when it came to ordering night market food. Due to that, it didnât take all that long for him to raise his hand before saying, âBoss! Iâd like to have twenty mutton kebabs, a plate of fried noodles, one roasted fish, a plate of chicken wingsâ¦â
By the time Geraldâs list was done, Raine could only stare wide-eyed at him. What a lot of foodâ¦!
Turning to look at her, Gerald then asked, âWhat about you, Raine? Donât worry about the costs, just order whatever you like!â
Shaking her head in response, Raine simply smiled faintly as she replied, âWell⦠Youâve already ordered quite a bit, senior⦠Why donât we finish that first?â
Hearing that, Gerald simply nodded before saying, âAlright, that will be all for now, boss! If we need any more food, weâll tell you âGot it! The food will be served in a while!â replied the old woman with a smile before quickly making her way back to her stall.
To be honest, even though the other stalls appeared to have quite a number of customers, this particular stall was barren aside from Gerald and Raineâs table. With that in mind, it was no wonder why the old couple looked so happy to serve them. After all, they were providing them with business.
Regardless, while waiting for the food, Raine noticed something which prompted her to immediately whisper, âHey, senior! Look there! I think the one roasting the kebabs is the old womanâs daughter!â
Upon hearing that, Gerald turned to look at where Raine was staring⦠and true enough, the woman roasting the kebabsâwho looked to be around the same age as Raineâseemed to be their daughter.
âTo think that sheâs already earning money at such a young age,â muttered Raine with a sigh, now feeling that she had it much better compared to herâ¦
Whatever the case was, it was about twenty minutes later when all the dishes were served.
Since the old lady was here anyway, Gerald took the chance to ask, âThat your daughter, boss?â
Chuckling in response, the old woman then replied, âShe is, actually! My husband and I were around thirty when we conceived her, and weâre just thankful that sheâs so responsible and diligent. You know, even though she studies hard, she still makes it a point to come help us after school! We really appreciate it since weâre too old to get things done fast enoughâ¦â
Realizing that she had said a bit too much, the old woman then smiled before adding, ââ¦Anyway, do enjoy your meal! Iâll be attending to other things first, but if you need me, donât hesitate to call!â
Watching as the old woman then returned to her stall, the duo shrugged before starting to dig inâ¦
Since Gerald hadnât eaten kebabs in ages, being able to eat them now brought back several joyous memories⦠What blissâ¦
However, his moment of peace was cut short when a loud âcrashâ suddenly filled the air, followed by someone yelling âBeat itâ!
Following that, even more smashing sounds could be heard! What kind of chaos was brewing
