Chapter 457
The Secretly Rich Man
Gerald Crawford:The Secretly Rich Man Novel (Invisible or Poorest) Chapter 457
Gerald had not seen Elena in a while, and she seemed much prettier now.
âElena Larson is gorgeous!â a stunned Hayward exclaimed. Sharon, nonetheless, wasnât jealous at all.
She had to admit that Elena was a real beauty.
âOf course, she is! Elena is Mr. Crawfordâs godsister. She has to be!â Liam smiled.
âThen why isnât Mr. Crawford here, Liam?â Leila asked.
She was really hoping to see who Mr. Crawford was.
âLet me tell you why. My dad mentioned heâs someone who keeps a low profile and doesnât like banquets and functions as such.â Liam explained as if he knew about Gerald very well.
âAw!â Leila was disappointed.
âHey Leila, would you like a drink? This fruit juice is imported, itâs excellent! Let me get you some!â
Douglas was unhappy seeing Liam and Leila hitting off well.
âIâm good. Just leave me be.â Leila frowned at Douglas and turned towards Liam again.
âI need one, please!â A waiter passed by Lilian, and she reached out for a drink.
Lilian was parched after what happened earlier on, and she was even more anxious now.
Elena delivered her speech on the stage as her eyes skimmed around the room.
Suddenly, someone shouted, and everyone went silent.
It was Lilian.
She had discovered how lovely the drink was, and she wanted to get one for Gerald too, but the glass slipped, spilling the drink all over him and herself.
âOh, no! Let me help you!â Gerald quickly offered to help.
He grabbed some napkins, helped Lilian clean her dress, then wiped the remainder of the liquid off his pants.
âHow embarrassing! She canât even hold a glass properly!â
âI know, right! Elenaâs still speaking, and sheâs only bothered by the food. Ridiculous!â
A few people seated at the same table insulted her.
âThere is an obvious difference between finding a rich boyfriend and dating a fraud. Even the standards are worlds apart!â added Sharon, sniggering away silently.
âThank heavens I didnât end up with her!â Hayward exclaimed.
Leila just looked at Gerald and shook her head judgmentally.
âIâm so sorry! I really didnât mean it!â A scared and quivering Lilian immediately apologized.
Her face blushed a bright beetroot, and she tugged hard on Geraldâs sleeves.
âGerald, I think we should leave!â
Lilian knew how tall of an order it was to get Gerald acting like someone of wealth, but she chose to follow him anyway. Never did she think she would embarrass herself like that.
âWhy should we leave? Itâs just a glass. Weâll be fine!â Gerald found it really intriguing that a girl like Lilian would have such low self-esteem.
Gerald remembered his first time attending such functions. He was not unlike her.
