Chapter 903
The Secretly Rich Man
Gerald Crawford:The Secretly Rich Man Novel (Invisible or Poorest) Chapter 903
With Mindyâs small hand being so smooth and warm, it wasnât long before Gerald started feeling weird.
Before he could even say anything, however, Mindy began dragging him over to a few small stone stools in the garden where both of them sat.
âYou know, Sanderson, Iâve been wondering why I keep finding you to be so familiar⦠After some thought, I think itâs because of how similar our past experiences are⦠While itâs true that Iâm a rich young lady whoâs been living in luxury all my life while youâve had an extremely difficult pastâeven having to face such a miserable accidentâboth of us are similar in the way that neither of us had proper friends our entire lives,â explained Mindy.
Hearing that, Gerald simply nodded slightly.
âI resented that fact a lot when I was younger, you know? You may not know it, but because of a certain family, both Jasmine and I were grounded within the house for the longest time. Thatâs akin to torture for me since Iâm the kind of person who simply canât stay put in a place for long⦠Iâm sure youâre able to relate to that to a certain degree⦠Regardless, due to my lack of contact with others, Iâve never been in a relationship before. Before I knew it, almost twenty-three years have passed and till this very day, I donât think Iâve ever fallen for anyone, at least not in the way that soap operas usually play out,â
added Jasmine as she held onto her chin.
In response, Gerald pointed at Mindy before making a few more gestures.
âHmm? Could you perhaps be saying that Iâm pretty so it should be easy for me to get a boyfriend?â
asked Mindy with a smile.
After seeing Geraldâs nod, Mindy simply sighed before saying, âWhile Iâm no longer grounded these days, I feel nothing for any of the rich heirs Iâve come across. Itâs true that I do want to fall in love, but none of the people Iâve met make my heart flutter at all!â
At that, Gerald nodded again.
ââ¦Well, there was one person⦠However, I only got to be together with him for a short while⦠Heâs a good guy who I have to admit, is also quite cuteâ¦â
Raising an eyebrow, Gerald gestured again.
âHmm? Why didnât I confess to him?â
After seeing him nod, Mindy sighed before saying, âHumph! Itâs a long story! To simplify, from what Iâve seen, heâs a sc*mbag!â
ââ¦Ah?â replied Gerald, shocked.
âTell you what, Sanderson. That friend of mine? Itâs true that heâs nice to people, but heâs a little too nice to everyone, you know? Especially toward girls. Itâs kind of sc*mmy, donât you think? Itâs honestly the thing I hate most about him! Thatâs the reason why my feelings for him eventually ended,â
explained Mindy.
With that, Gerald made another gesture, akin to cheering her on.
âWorry not, Iâll definitely find the love of my life one dayâ¦â replied Mindy as she looked at him with a faint smile on her face.
âSpeaking of which, Sanderson, do you care a lot about how others view your physical appearance?â
asked Mindy.
As he nodded, he pointed at his face before putting on a terrified expression. For now, he knew he had to keep the act up.
âWere you saying that your appearance would scare others away? Youâre afraid that no one will befriend you after seeing your burn marks?â
Upon seeing him nod in agreement, Mindy then asked, âWell Iâm not afraid⦠And I wonât give you a cold shoulder, even after seeing what you look like. So Sanderson⦠Would you please take your mask off for me?â
Hearing that, Gerald quickly shook his head.
âWell, since youâre that reluctant, I wonât force you⦠Keep in mind, however, that weâre still close friends. No matter what you look like under that mask, I wonât dislike youâ¦â said Mindy firmly.
It truly hadnât crossed Geraldâs mind that Mindy would say such things. In response, he simply nodded understandingly.
âAh, here you are, sir!â said a servant out of the blue as she began walking over.
Hearing that, he stood up while tilting his head at the servant.
âSee, the young ladyâs left shoulder has been aching a lot of late. Weâd like you to have a look at her condition, sir,â added the female servant.
