Chapter 15

I must get her back!

BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch

Dimitri's point of view

I was busy attending to the numerous Alpha's that attended the first crescent moon festival ball. Currently I was speaking with the Alpha of the Rock mountain pack and the other hundred Alphas from packs across the continent. We mostly discussed about forging future alliances between packs and creating a partnership in business, well every conversation was boring to say the least and I wasn't completely paying attention to the other Alphas. Right now all I could think about was seeing Isabelle and that too in the perfect blue dress I chose out for her. I knew she would look exquisite in it, just like a divine goddess. But where was she?

'Yes, where is our mate?' Luca asked, he was jumping in excitement and couldn't wait to see her. He wouldn't stop urging me to go and look for her, and I scanned through the crowded halls but I couldn't find her or her peculiar scent anywhere.

'Easy there Luca. We will see her soon, so relax.’ I retorted at Luca mentally. Lately Isabelle was basically everything we thought about, she took up every space in my thoughts and her essence clouded my thoughts. She was a great mystery to me, a mystery I needed to unravel. I heard Gabe call out to me from behind.

"Alpha," Gabe said, as he approached me accompanied by Dixie, one of the siphon twin witches. They were Seth's adopted kids. He took them after their mother, a great witch and a friend of the pack passed. She died right after giving birth, and she requested that Seth take care of her two girls, they were exceptional witches. But right now there was something in their faces that seemed very uneasy. There was a problem.

I stepped out of the company of my guest. "Did something happen?" I asked, staring at both their faces. They both exchanged a worried glance before Gabe began.

"It's about Luna.” Gabe begins and instantly I could feel myself tense up at her mention. What about Isabella?

“Dixie believes that she isn't just a human. She thinks that Luna is a witch." Gabe answered. I peeled my eyes off him and looked back at Dixie to confirm if what Gabe just said was true.

"I don't just think, I know." She defended, "I can feel and siphon magical energies all around and earlier today when I was with Isabella I could feel magical energy all over her bracelet, and I could read some inscriptions on it. There was a word in Celtic that meant 'to bind’. And when she touched me I could feel a raw but powerful magical aura surrounding her. So I believe that the reason why we never could tell that she was a witch was because of her bracelet. It is a binding bracelet. She used it to keep her witch side dominant and protected, but when Rubi snapped it, her magic was released." Dixie finished explaining.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing from them. Isabelle was a witch? It was really hard to believe, I always knew there was something special about her. This would partially explain why she is being hunted by all these monsters. I needed answers, this time it needed to come straight from her. No lies, no disguises, just the truth. She had a lot of explaining to do.

"It's really hard to believe that Isabella's a witch. She really feels like an ordinary human. I couldn't sense even the smallest trace of magic in her." Gabe said, still really skeptical about the entire idea.

‘We need to speak with mate now. We need to hear her own side of the truth.' Luca insisted, and I couldn't agree less. We needed to have a truthful conversation.

"I need to talk to her." I told them walking off to my office. I mind linked Lance telling him to find Isabelle for me, I couldn't sense her. Her smell was also gone from the entire castle.

After a minute Lance responded back through the mind link.

"She isn't here. Gemini and I have searched the entire pack but she isn't here." Lance stated. Where did she go?

"Alpha her things are still in place in her room. I'll keep searching around, maybe she got lost or something." Gemini added through the mind link. She still wanted to be hopeful but I knew that Isabella was far gone. She ran away. The papers that rested on the floor in my office said it all. She must have been overwhelmed and scared when she realized that I had her investigated and I have been pretending not to know who she was.

"Fuck this!" I cursed under my breath. I couldn't let her go away from me, I had to get her back. She wasn't safe out there on her own with all this monsters after her. She was mine to protect. Fuck this stupid festival I needed to find my mate, now! That was something Luca and I were on the same page about. No matter what happened, Isabella came first.

I was about to leave my office on my way to find Isabelle, when Gabe approached me with the other twin, Alexa beside him. They had an extremely dreadful look on their faces.

"Brother, I have got major bad news. We are under attack by a headless dude on a zombie looking horse." Gabe muttered, not even able to make his own words make sense.

"It's the headless horseman." Alexa quickly said, as Gabe continued to give her an extremely confused look.

"You know Death. From the folklore. That's the dude attacking the pack." She sighed at Gabe who continued to look at her like he didn't understand a single word that she said. "His name is Abraham Van Brunt. He is a revenant. Traditional folklore holds that the Horseman was a Hessian trooper who was killed during the Battle of White Plains on 28 October 1776. He was decapitated by a flying cannonball, and the shattered remains of his head were left on the battlefield while his comrades and troops hastily carried his body away." Alexa summed up, she was very knowledgeable and vast with the study of the supernatural occult and folklores.

"Thanks for the quick run down in history Alexa." Gabe said, "But why the bloody hell is he attacking our pack? what the hell do that guy want?"

"He is here for Isabelle. He is after her, just like every other monster. I have to take care of him myself.” I voiced, walking out of my office.

“What can we do?” Gabe asked, following behind me.

“Make sure all the guests are safe. I will handle this." I was assured. What type of fucked up mess did she get herself into that she is this wanted? She wasn't safe, I knew more monsters were going to be after her at this very moment. I needed to get to her first before any of them did.

"Yes, Lance and Dixie are busy trying to keep the crowd under control. It will be best if they don't even know what is going on." Gabe commented. Him and Alexa followed behind me while I mind linked the pack warriors to lead the horseman away from the pack and towards the plains in the east borders. I didn't want anyone getting hurt because of the horseman rampage.

"The horseman should have the remains of his severed head with him, that's his weakness and a way we can kill it. For the second time." Alexa said as we raced to join the others.

When we arrived, our pack warriors were already gathered at the forest, in their wolf forms and fighting against the headless horseman. He was saddled on top of his corpse like a horse, pulling on its reins. He attacked with a whip that was an actual spine.

Well enough of this bullshit, this ends now.

I ripped off the buttons of my shirt, throwing it to the ground. With a thunderous growl I lunged at the horseman, tackling him on his horse and sending him to the ground.

There it was, his head. It was kept inside a cloth sack by his waist side. I needed to get that away from him.

"Hey! Over here! You headless douchebag." Gabe mocked, trying to gain its attention. It worked, as the horseman began directing his attacks at Gabe who just avoided them swiftly, till he got close enough to deliver a kick on the horseman's left leg. The horseman wasted no time delivering a mighty blow in return, sending Gabe flying to the ground.

"Alexa! Now!" I yelled. I knew she would know what to do next to seize the opening. We needed him subdued.

"Fesmatós inces andromedá…" With a nod she chanted as the pendant on her neck glowed a bright red, it always did that whenever she used her magic, it was filled with enough magical energy needed for her to make her own spells without channeling anyone or her sister. She conjured and summoned thick green vines from within the ground, which began to tangle the horseman's leg, holding his hands and body still. The vines were subduing him. The headless horseman then swung his whip out to attack Alexa as she was busy concentrating on her spell.

"Fuck! Alexa, watch out!" Gabe screamed, successfully jumping and getting her down to the ground in time before she was struck down by the deadly whip. She must have lost her concentration on the spell because the vines lost their potency as soon as she fell.

The horseman then swung at me with his whip, I easily dodged his attacks, then I grabbed hold of his whip. It soon became a contest of strength as we both clung tight to the whip like it was our last lifeline, we both wouldn't let go of the whip, one of us in the end had to yield to the other.

It was getting hard keeping this up. I needed to go full lycan on this headless bastard. My eyes began to change to its bright crimson red color, while my body began to shake uncontrollably. I could hear the sounds of my bones snap and break, my long fangs were protruding from my teeth. Luca was now in complete control.

I let out a terrifying roar, as I dragged the whip with the horseman still holding it, flying to the ground before me. I picked him up, tossing him against the trees like a ragdoll. I slashed at the headless horseman, severing one of its arms from his bloody limbs, breaking and crushing his bones.

I ripped off the sack cloth by his waist side, in it was a bloody decayed skull. I threw it to the floor, smashing and stomping on it with my feet. The horseman shrieked as it began to crumple to the ground in a pile of black goo. It was destroyed for good now.

'Now we go and find our mate' I heard Luca say as he gave me control again, and I totally agreed with him. The little witch was in danger and we needed to find her.

"Gabe, Alexa, are you both okay?" I asked, helping both of them get up.

"Just a few scratches." Alexa replied, looking at her arm. "But I'm good, Alpha."

"Good. I need you and your sister to perform a location spell on Isabelle. I need to find out where she is." I told her. Finding Isabelle first was of utmost urgency, I had to pull some of my strings in the human world to get this done too.

"You can count on it." With that Alexa went off into the woods. She was going to the witches quarters.

"I haven't seen something as crazy as a headless man who can still ride a horse. Like that's crossing the line of crazy." Gabe commented, stretching out his shoulder.

"There's going to be more of them coming after her. She is in danger out there." The thoughts of her being in danger right this instant was suffocating to me.

"Don't worry Dimitri. We will find her and we will bring our Luna back home." Gabe gave me a reassuring smile, I nodded, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Dimitri. The siphon twins have found her." I heard Lance speak through the mind link, throwing a ray of hope my way.

“Where is she?” I asked.

"She is at medlands port." Lance answered.

"Good job. Now let's go get back my mate." I could see Gabe grinning as we both set out to find her.
