Naked Truths
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Isabella's Point Of View
In my dream the skies are blue and the sun is bright and shining. The lovely sounds of birds singing with one another could be heard only a mil away and there is a honey bee perching on a clover nearby. The streams run clear and there are fishes in the river that can be seen swimming with one another. There are beautiful blue butterflies everywhere, fluttering their little wings peacefully all around me.
I was there sitting on the soft dewy grass loving its scrunchy feeling between my fingers and in front of me were two sandwiches, a pie, and a glass tea kettle full of warm tea was placed on a blanket. Just where was I?
'Am I dead?' I thought to myself. This place looked too good to be true. It felt like heaven.
I notice that I am wearing a thin white sleeveless dress but that's not the most surprising thing about all this.
Next to me is Dimitri, he is wearing a black fitted t-shirt and long black jeans and his hair was styled in a quiff. He stares up at the sky while the sun shines down on his beautifully tanned skin, a blue butterfly sits at the tip of his finger, he plays with it gently, admiring the beauty. I watch as he looks down at me with a smile, his long lashes fanning his cheeks.
I watch as he then pours himself a cup of tea and takes a small sip.
As if knowing that I was busy staring at him, he catches my eyes again and before I can turn away a grin spreads across his face, a wide divine smile. "Isabelle." He calls my name in a way that no one has before, the way he says my name has me begging for more.
"Yes," I replied. Dimitri's hands touch my face and gently I feel his hand stroke my lips. It made my heart beat faster.
"What you seek is seeking you." He whispers.
What? I don't understand. What I seek is seeking me? That didn't make any sense to me.
"Open your eyes." He says, this time with much urgency.
"They are open, Dimitri." I told him. I could not understand what he truly meant to say.
"Come back to me, Isabelle." He rasps, running his fingers into my hair.
"Dimitri." I whisper.
I stare up at the blue sky, and slowly it starts to disappear and the dream begins to fade away. I knew it was a dream because it was all too good to be true.
When I open my eyes I am back in my room at the castle. Dimitri is standing beside my bed, watching me with those eyes.
"Hi," he says softly with a look of relief.
"Thank the heavens you are awake." I quickly turned to the side to see Gabe standing by the window, it was dark outside. Was I out the whole day? "You got me so worried to death. Don't do that again." He scolded, his voice full of concern.
I try to sit up but the pain in my leg won't let me, I remove the blanket and examine my now wrapped up thigh. It was dressed with bandages.
"Gabriel, please get Isabelle something to eat." Dimitri states, glancing at my leg.
"Of course Alpha." Gabe nodded with a knowing smile, then he went off.
"How are you feeling?" Dimitri asks, his voice cool and calm.
"Like as if I just got run over by a bloody rhino. My head hurts" I managed to say, I could feel a throbbing pain invade my head.
"How long was I out?" I questioned.
"Just a day." He answered looking down at me with those eyes that I could never read. Every memory from yesterday started flooding right into me.
I remembered everything fully well now. I was attacked by the shapeshifter, Alectryon. He slashed me and was about to kill me but then I was saved by a beast. It was him. Dimitri was the beast.
My thoughts finally recollected everything now. Was he also after me like every monster? He took some steps closer to me, I don't know why I moved away. I have always felt safe around him, like he could never hurt me, but now I don't know what to think seeing him in that form.
He stopped moving towards me and then just said. "I know you have many questions. Rest, we will talk later when you are feeling much better. And your friend, Iris, is here too." He left and as if on cue, Iris came in. Lance followed behind her, holding her hands in his. Since when did they become this close?
"Isabelle!â She exclaimed, her eyes overjoyed to see me awake. âYou definitely took your sweet time in waking up." She beamed at me. There was something about her that seemed so happy, so complete. Maybe it was the fact that Lance's snake-like arms were curled up around her too. What was going on between them? Were they a couple?
"I'll give both of you some time to talk." He said before giving Iris a quick kiss on the lips. Wow! What did I miss while I was unconscious? They were definitely a couple.
"And I'm glad you finally woke up Luna." Lance added with a small smile. I had a lot of questions, and as soon as he left the room I fired away at Iris.
"What did I just witness? Lance and you, when did this all happen?" I asked her with a smile. Iris joined me on the bed, breaching the spaces between us
"Yeah, guess what? Turns out Lance is my mate." She says, causing my eyes to widen in pure surprise. I knew how much Iris always wanted to find her mate, she even started losing all hope.
"I finally found my mate, well technically he found me on the ship first, but whatever." She spoke, you could literally feel the happiness pouring out of her. This was all she ever wished for, to find the one promised to her by the moon goddess.
"How did it happen? Tell me all about it." I positioned myself on the bed ready for the details.
"On the ship, when we were being chased by the shapeshifter, you were behind me and I just kept running till I felt someone grab me into a room, and immediately I knew it was him. I felt the sparks and so could he. But he recognized that I was a friend of yours so I told him you were in danger and Dimitri went to save you." Iris finishes. So Lance was also a wolf and her mate, I am happy that they finally found each other.
"I can't believe you were here all this while and you couldn't tell that you were in a wolf pack." She says to me, shocked.
"Really I can't believe it too. I had my doubts about them but I did not expect this. They are all liars" I let out a deep sigh.
"Well you were also lying to them too, everyone has secrets they want to stay hidden.â Iris says.
âBut I just don't know if I can trust them.â I quipped. I didn't know if I could trust anyone.
âMaybe you should try talking with Dimitri, after all he did save your life. Twice." She said, making a valid point.
"Yeah, he did. I'll go and speak to him." I admitted. Dimitri and everyone here may have lied to me but so did I, I wasn't completely honest with them either. So for starters I needed to speak with their Alpha.
I trudged towards his office, my leg still hurt but it was getting bearable, I could feel myself healing. I arrived at his door letting myself in after some knocks. He was there, standing with a book in his hands. His brows furrowed with surprise after seeing me.
"We need to talk now. And I need you to be completely honest with me." I said, with a demanding voice. He nodded in agreement as he shut the book in his palm, placing it on his desk before him.
âWhat do you want to know?â he says, his voice so calm and steady. His hands crossed before his chest as he leaned back in the desk behind him.
âTell me everything about you?â I say, trying to project my voice to seem as steady as his.
"My name is Dimitri Axel Castellan. I am a lycan and the last remaining one of my kind. You are in my pack, the Blood moon pack." He said. His eyes bored into mine, and the air left my lungs at the intensity. I could see every little speck and the way his eyes dilated in the shadows of the room. He wasn't lying, I could tell that much. He was being completely honest with me.
"Is there anything else you like to know?" He says with a slow nod.
"So you all are werewolves?" I asked, just for clarification.
"Yes." He affirmed, his gaze unmoved from mine.
"So what is the real reason that you brought me here?" I questioned, our gaze getting intense.
"Because I need you." I shivered at his words. What did he mean he needed me? I try to focus on my questions instead of getting swayed by these feelings building up in me.
"Did you know what I was? Who I was?" I asked, watching the look in his eyes soften.
"Not at the very beginning but after you left I realized that you were a witch. Isabelle I don't know why all these monsters want you dead but I can promise you this, I won't harm you and no one here will. It is no secret that you have grown attached to the people here and they all love you too." I watched as he took a deep breath before finding what to say next.
"I will understand it if you want to leave but I would prefer it if you don't. In the end the choice is ultimately yours." He finished, with his face straight and unwavering. His words were very honest and brought comfort to my mind. At least I knew I could trust him, I couldn't fully explain why but my gut feeling somehow felt at ease with him. It felt like I could believe whatever he said.
"I would like to stay." I said, I watched as his face lit up with a smile.
"Good choice." He smiled. " You and Iris are welcome to stay here as long as you would want, after all Iris is my beta's mate."
âAnd what about you, haven't you found your mate yet?â The words escape my mouth before I can get the chance to stop myself. Oh goddess, why did I just ask that?
âI have found her,â he says with a grin.
âWell that is good for you. I only hope she is nothing like Rubi.â I said to him.
âNo, she is much different, trust me. She is fierce. Beautiful and has the prettiest smile.â
âI hope to meet this girl you speak of someday.â soon
âSoon you will.
"Ok see you tomorrow. Alpha." I waved, making my way out through the door. He was following behind me.
"Goodnight Isabelle." He said. I went back to my room. Everything finally felt right for once but I still had one thing that irked me. It was the dream I had earlier about Dimitri, it felt like someone was trying to tell me something. Like it contained some hidden message that I just couldn't decipher.
'What you seek is seeking you.' I replayed Dimitri's words in my mind.
"What does that even mean?" I ask myself in frustration. God I knew it all meant something but I just couldn't put my fingers on it. I had to figure out what it all meant.
