No good guys
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Isabella's Point Of View
"How long do you think the trip will be?" Iris asked as we strolled through the pack's garden. It was a really beautiful scenery, with countlessly of dazzling plants and flowers, most of them holding magical properties like the gardenia flower that possessed the power to heal.
"I don't know Iris. All Dimitri said was I should get ready that I am coming with him on his business trip to Miami..j. I wasn't even allowed to pack anything." I remarked.
"Well it makes sense, he would need his secretary for his business so have fun." She laughed. I really got myself into this one, now I had no other choice than to go on this trip. Well maybe the trip wasn't entirely going to be terrible, miami was going to be a new scenery, maybe that is what I desperately needed, a change of air and maybe going to the beach.
It was just ten in the morning, I was already prepared for the trip. I was standing before a full length mirror, staring at the blue dress I was covered in, following it up with chic cowboy boots. I heard a knock on the door and it opened, permitting Gabe in.
"Oh goddess, my eyes are indeed blessed." He teased, shutting his eyes with his hands.
"Oh stop it." I smiled, turning to him. He stood there before me with his light brown hair and denim jacket and jeans. He was a huge whore for flattering, and was a good friend.
"Oh my eyes can't take it, really, you need to turn it down a bit." He added.
"Come on Gabe, you are going to make me blush." We both chuckled. From what I heard from him, he still hasn't found his mate yet, but he says some fortune witch had told him that he was going to stumble across his mate sooner than he thought. I hope he soon does because he deserves to find love.
"Dimitri sent me to get you. Are you all ready to go?" he asked.
"Yeah," I said, grabbing a brown jacket and my purse from the drawer. "I'm all set." Gabe led me out through the pack house and onto the parking lot where Dimitri was standing beside a sparklingly Black Ferrari.
He was branded in an ash suit and tie that clung to his very masculine shape. His long black hair was combed and gelled to perfection behind his neck.
His green eyes fell on me, taking my ability to breathe momentarily like he always does. There was something in his forest eyes that always seemed to have an effect on me, that always made me lose control of myself and thoughts. He had an effect on me that I haven't felt before, which was one of the reasons I believe this trip was a really bad idea.
"Isabelle -" his lips parted to say something but his words were caught in his throat.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing. We need to get to the airport." He says, opening up the door to the passengers seat for me. He got into the driver seat.
"Are we going with Lance?" I asked him.
"Don't worry, they will catch up with us there." He replied, igniting the car engines as they roared to life. "You look really nice." He quickly complimented as he drove off. A small smile perches on my lips.
The ride to the airport was fast, when we arrived we were greeted by the airport staff, they were humans and didn't know anything about the supernatural world Dimitri ruled. They only knew about his influence he had in the mortal world.
We were in a private cabin, and I was seated in the white leather seat of one of Dimitri's private jets. We were both sitting opposite each other
"So are you going to tell me exactly what this business trip is about?" I asked with raised brows.
"It is a partnership venture with a friend of mine, Alpha Regan, the alpha of the shadow pack." Dimitri began saying, I was even more surprised by the fact that he had friends apart from those in his pack.
"We are planning on building a hotel along the beaches of Miami. So we will go to the shadow pack first, then we will go to view the site at the beach." he finished explaining. But honestly, I couldn't wait to see the beach, and just swim in its waters or just feel the sand underneath my feet.
"How long will this business trip take?" I asked, wanting to know how long we had till we returned back to the pack.
"Maybe two or three days... I'm not really sure which." He said and my eyes instantly widened at his words.
"What?" He asked, noticing my reaction.
"Why didn't you tell me we were going to be staying that long? I could have packed some extra clothes." I scoff outrageously. If I had known we were coming to the beach or spending two days at best, I would have packed some extra set of clothes or a swim's at least.
"That would be a lot of extra luggage." He admitted.
"The hell Dimitri?!" I flared.
*Don't worry, you can just shop for clothes and whatever you need when we arrive." he says with a shrug.
I rest my head against the soft cushion behind me and stare at him just like
he's staring at me.
"Okay, is there anything that I should know about the shadow pack? Pack before we get there?" I ask.
"The Shadow pack are fierce and strong, and their Alpha is as tough as nails. They are completely secluded from the world and basically my pack is the only pack they have an alliance with but they are nice people but are a little touchy about their customs."
"What do you mean touchy?" I asked him and he just smiled.
"You are about to find out. We are here." He said, staring out through the window. We had arrived in Miami already. The city looked so alive, Dimitri picked up his coat and we ushered out of the jet and met a man who was already awaiting us with a Black rolce Royce and we got in for another ride.
After an hour of driving and listening to some cool jams on the radio we finally reached the pack borders and I couldn't help myself be mesmerized by the beauty of the pack.
"It is so beautiful." I gasp, looking out through my window. The mountain Hill was beautiful and high with thick beautiful green trees decorating it. Nature felt alive here just by looking at it.
"Wait till you get inside." Dimitri agrees.
He parks the car around a corner and the engine comes to a stop.
"We have to go on foot from here. The shadow pack doesn't allow vehicles in." He tells me, as we unbuckle our seatbelts. I guess we were going to walk.
As we step out, I see a huge black wolf approach us, I move slightly behind Dimitri and he gives me a reassuring look. Just then the wolf bows its head down in a sign of respect for us.
"It's okay Isabelle, she knows us." Dimitri tells me, making me calm down. "She has been expecting us actually." He adds.
The wolf motioned to me, tipping its head downward.
I look up to Dimitri. "What does she want?" I whisper to him.
"She wants you to get on." Dimitri interpretes.
My eyes widen in realization. "What, no way. I can walk, don't worry." I say smiling to the black she wolf.
"Isabelle you have to, it is considered disrespectful to refuse a ride in this pack and trust me you do not want to disrespect the shadow pack." Dimitri says warningly, somehow I felt like he was just joking but I didn't want to take the risk.
I sigh in defeat as I walk up towards the large wolf, it was bigger than most ordinary wolves but to be honest I wasn't phased at all. Compared to Dimitri's and the wolves at the pack, this was ten times smaller.
Dimitri grabs my hand and helps me get on the wolf, immediately I'm seated and the wolf starts to move slowly.
Whoa! This felt amazing. I have never ridden a wolf before so I wasn't quite stable but it felt thrilling. Soon he starts to run, really fast I might add. Not bad
I grab a handful of her fur, my heart skipping beats. I hear laughter come from my side, surprisingly Dimitri was keeping up with the wolf speed in his human form.
"You look like you are about to pass out right now." Dimitri taunts with a laugh. "Just relax Isabelle." He adds.
"Okay, I'll try." I cling tight to the soft fur on her shoulders, as she sped through the woods.
Soon and by soon I mean an hour later we reach the pack. I look around in awe of the buildings and identically constructed houses that were arranged at both sides. It was almost a village.
We approached a bridge as we walked past it slowly. People stared at us, some in wolf form, some in human form waving and bowing at us-well I think they were just bowing at Dimitri.
After crossing the bridge the wolf stops and lowers herself to the ground, that must be my cue to get off the poor thing.
"Thank you." I say, slowly rubbing her head and she growls in response before rising up, and racing out of here, into the bridge, we watch her till her wolf disappears from sight. What was her problem?
"What's up with her?" I asked, as we headed towards a huge castle.
"That is just how Tilda reacts to most people, it wasn't about you." Dimitri answered.
We turned back to the huge castle, as we made our way inside. The inside decor was even more beautiful than the exterior decor. It was sparkly and neatly put together.
"Dimitri. It is so good having you at my pack once again ." I heard a voice call. I turn around to where the voice came from to see a shadow at the door. What I assumed to be a shadow takes the form of a girl. Her tall and slender frame comes into view. She was pretty, and had wavy and brown hair. She wore black skinny jeans and a black coat.
She cocks her head to the side, her dark eyes widens as she gazes at me with a wild smirk on her lips. "I see that you came along with a friend." Her voice is soft yet rough.
In a flash she was in front of me. Her amber eyes were calm and emotionless, her eyes regarded me as if searching for my soul.
"Regan, this is Isabella. Isabelle meet Regan, Alpha of the shadow pack." Dimitri introduces her leaning on the table behind him.
But wait, she is Alpha Regan, the friend Dimitri spoke about? I thought Alpha Regan was a man.
"No way! She is the one?" She says looking back at Dimitri surprised and happy. He offered her a nod. She turned back to me.
"It is a pleasure meeting you, chosen one." She says to me with a smile. "Please make yourself comfortable."
"You know who I am?" I ask her.
"Yes, Dimitri told me. Don't worry your secret is safe with me, my pack will protect it.'' She gives me a warm smile.
"Okay. Isabella I need to go with Regan to settle some things but beta Tilda will attend to you." Dimitri tells me, a tall and muscular brown skin girl with long black hair comes in, and instantly I recognize her eyes. She was the wolf that gave me a ride earlier. Tilda, she was also the pack's beta.
Dimitri and Regan leave for the site , and I'm left with Tilda. Dimitri, being true to his word, told Tilda to take me to the mall, although she wasn't so keen on the idea she later gave in.
Currently, I am in the car with Tilda. I think the eerie and awkward silence in the car will kill me, so I turn in the radio
"If you even think about putting country music on the radio, I will kick you out of the car." Tilda warns me when we get on the road.
"Would you look at that, you and I have something in common after all." I say, tuning the radio to a pop station.
"Any person with a brain should hate country music, especially whatever Beyonce thinks she is doing." She says with a shake of her head, her eyes still trained on the road. I change the station stopping at a station playing the latest hit song. Currently, it is Too Sweet by Hozier. That song really makes me want to drink a strong cup of coffee.
The rest of the car ride was met in silence and I couldn't have had it any other way.
"Well, here it is." Tilda says, and I turn to look at her side where a huge Macy's was. "It's decent enough. You can get anything you want here." Tilda turns into where the macy's was. She looked for a parking spot and parked in the middle of the huge lot. There were a lot of cars here.
"Oh yeah before I forget." Tilda digs into her pocket. "I was told by Alpha Dimitri to give this to you." She said, giving me a black Express card.ike those really fancy credit cards you could only dream of having. It belonged to Dimitri and he wanted me to use it for my shopping...
I hesitate when I reach over and take the sleek black card. Dimitri's name was on the card. Dimitri Axel Castellan -- written in bold I had a feeling like this card had no actual limit.
We entered the mall checking out each stall. Tilda also helped out in picking some dresses, she had a really good sense of fashion.
I was planning on getting Dimitri a gift, but I wasn't going to get him a gift with his own money, I still had some money with me, although it wasn't much but it would have to do.
But what can I get him? It's harder to figure out what to give an Alpha that is already so wealthy and rich. I knew he liked books, I could start from there. Maybe I can get him a book. If he has a good sense of humor, getting him twilight would be funny. I snicker at the thought.
After trying out more dresses, I bought a few for me and Tilda and I had the gift I got for Dimitri wrapped. I was going to give it to him whenever I got a chance.
After reaching the car, we dumped the bags in the backseat, then Tilda took us back to the pack, but Dimitri still wasn't back.
Tilda showed me to a room prepared for me. It was late at night and I couldn't sleep, my nightmares kept me up so I decided to go and exercise a bit.
I went to the shadow pack's gym. It was huge and had all the right equipment needed to exercise but, I wasn't interested in lifting any weights, I was more interested in hitting something.
Firmly, I adjusted the black boxing bag gloves I had around my wrists. I get my stance right by standing with my feet shoulder-width apart and my front foot facing the punching bag. I did not hesitate in unloading my punches, making sure I threw powerful and snappy punches at the punching bag. I planted my feet firmly when throwing the punches and when I'm not throwing punches I move aroused on my toes. my breathing labored. I've been at this for probably an hour or maybe more, I can't exactly tell. Suddenly I'm getting a little bored with the exercise. it would have been a little more fun if I was sparring against a real life opponent. Now that would be entertaining.
I removed the boxing bag gloves. my long and thick black lashes pressed firmly together and the gate of my eyes shut close. And as usual my subconscious formed a well built sturdy figure, a monster that after my life it looked virile and manly. He wore black leather pants and a black tacky jacket that looked like one formed from the heat and strain of battle in the medieval times. His face was covered in a golden mask, but the color of his eyes were red and dangerous. The conviction in his eyes was as firm as every monster I had met--to kill.
I smirked to myself. my ocean blue eyes hardened and so was my conviction to protect myself as always. He balled his hands into fists and pulled them up in a fighting stance. Eagerly I lunged at him, striking him. He blocked and sent a swing at me, which I was swift to avoid. I kept my eyes closed to avoid breaking off my concentration and losing my imaginary adversary my mind always created when I needed to train..
Everything was going well. I was still standing strong even after countless minutes of heated battle. Finally I was able to get the better of my opponent, pinning him on the floor.
I knelt on the ground with my breath heavy and sweat dripping from my face when I heard a loud clap coming from the door. I quickly turned around to catch Dimitri leaning against the door to the entrance.
"Very impressive." He says, approaching me. I take off my boxing gloves and drink some water.
"Remind me never to get on your bad side." He confesses and I smile, he was wise for that.
"You are always on my bad side." I smirk, resuming my position before the punching bag and offloading several punches.
"Now I'm scared." He says, with a fake shudder. He looked really tired, I could tell from the look in his eyes, but it didn't show. My eyes caught a red crimson stain on his chin. It was blood, but it wasn't his blood. Something must have happened while he was away.
"You are back late. You have blood on your chin." I tell him casually, while still punching the heavy weight.
His hand quickly brushes the blood stain on his chin. "Yeah. Just some minor issue that couldn't be avoided,it is nothing to be worried about." Dimitri voiced.
"And who said I was worried." I let out a chuckle. "You don't look hurt so it's okay."
"Why are you still awake?" He asked, rolling up his sleeves, revealing a unique set of tattoos, trailing up from his arm to his shoulder. Watching him like this was extremely distracting for me.
"I- I couldn't sleep." I stuttered.
"Bad dreams?" he asks with a look that seemed to know it all.
"Yeah." I answer.
"Well if you aren't tired of pouring your anger on a bag why don't you pour it on me." He smirks.
"You want me to fight you?" I asked, quite shocked at his offer.
"Yeah. Or is the great Isabella Santacruz scared?" He says with a grin. I know what he was doing, he was baiting me and boy was it working.
"Never, I am more worried about hurting your fragile ego." I remarked sharply at him and he just laughed.
"You couldn't handle me." he says, as we circled each other.
"I do love a challenge." I retort with a smile. He had that same irresistible smirk that followed his face. God why was he just so damn gorgeous. I couldn't help but think he was like a god that popped out from thin air to show these measly creatures what divinity looked like. I didn't even realize I was caught staring for too long until the clearing of his throat. I was pulled back to his brown saucer eyes
"Perfect then. No magic or spells. This is going to be fun." Dimitri breathed, flexing his bones as they made loud snaps. He rushes at me and we dance.
He was very fast and strong. It was as if he knew my every move, like he could tell what I was thinking before even I did. Just giving enough to counter all my attacks. I soon realized he wasn't attacking, he was defending.
"Stop going easy on me, I won't." I said, with a dark smile on my lips
He in turn smiled, kickin mine off the roof Then his smirk was back again, cutting the flow of blood to my brain. I really wanted to beat it off his face. A smirk of my own appeared as I took advantage of his softness.
We continued at it and now I had managed to land several attacks against him but no hit yet. He was effortlessly good. He was holding back so I took the liberty to attack him with everything I had.
I managed to land a kick on his chest, I tried to hit his face but he caught my arm, and now our bodies were close, too close. I could feel those darn tingles invade my mind so I pulled away, sending a direct hit to his knee and with that I mounted on top of him, sending him to the ground with me looming above him with my fist only inches apart from his face.
It was then I realized how implicating our positions was. I was in a silky ash short and a light Nike sports bra, this was getting too hot and intense. I wanted to pull away from him but I couldn't --I didn't want to. I enjoyed being in his arms like this and I wanted more.
"I submit to you." Dimitri's voice rasps, and I snap out of my thoughts, finding the strength to get away from him. The great lycan Alpha was submitting to me, I felt good about that for some reason.
I rolled over beside him, my back landing on the refreshing cold floor. Before my head could touch the floor, instead it landed on something soft and warm. I turned swiftly to notice Dimitri's long arm supporting my head. His skin slightly brushed mine.
We were in this awkward yet comfortable position for what felt like forever. Neither of us turned to face each other or said anything, we just stared at the ceiling in silence, until he finally spoke up.
"You never once asked who the blood on my chin belonged to." he says, his voice stiff and firm.
"It felt like you didn't want to talk about it and whoever it is probably deserved it too." I chirp slowly, meeting the reply of his cold snicker. I raise my head so that I can look at his face.
"You don't know that for sure," he replies.
"Yes I do. you aren't one of the bad guys." I tell him, both of our eyes colliding with an unspoken stare.
"I'm not a good person Isabelle. I kill and destroy everything I find. You don't want to know half of the things I have done." he says with so much conviction against himself that it hurts me. There was pain laced in his words.
"Maybe I don't, but the Dimitri I know isn't who you described so I trust the person I see." I said to him, "You are one of the good guys." I assure him, our gaze still holding one another. The tension in the room was getting stronger as our heart beats slowed down, matching little synchronizing beats.
He quickly looks away, standing up with a sigh. "Maybe there aren't any good guys left." he heads towards the gym's exit. "It's late, go to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a very long day."
"Dimitri, wait." I call out to him. I went to my bag, getting out a parcel with a gift ribbon on top.
"Here, I got you a gift. Just a small token of my appreciation." I told him as he looked at me surprised. He slowly opened the parcel and there was a little blue bookmark in it. He picks it out just staring at it with no visible expression on his face.
"Since I know you love reading, I got you a bookmark. It is a small gift I know and you might not even need it but-" I stop my nervous rambling at the sound of his voice.
"I love it." He says looking into my eyes. "It is just perfect, thank you Isabelle."
Time seemed to pause and my heartbeat seemed to be beating faster. I don't know what it is, maybe it is the way he said my name but I feel like I'm on the verge of doing something I might maybe regret. Maybe.
"Goodnight Isabelle." And with those words, he leaves me there in the gym.
This was crazy! I felt like a crazy woman in a fucking heat. I don't know what it was about Dimitri, all I knew was I have never wanted anyone the way I wanted him. I couldn't explain this attraction but it felt dangerous.
I sit by myself in the dim light of the gym, thinking about his words closely.
"Maybe there aren't any good guys left." I scoff out loud at his words. But it did seem true. What if in order to beat the bad guys we all slowly got lost along the line of good and evil and we all became the ones we despised. Maybe the truth is that there were no more good or bad guys, only people willing to do anything to survive.
