Fate is a very funny thing
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Isabella's point of view
It was just a couple days ago that I was kidnapped by Stefan and Tilda. After the entire ordeal, Dimitri was bent on returning back to the pack but I urged him so we stay for some days until the project is finalized. After the entire project was finalized we returned back home.
After the usual pack's morning training ended, I retired back to my room to take a warm bath. I quickly pulled off my clothes, racing under the shower as I let the warm water drain from my head down to my toes. It felt refreshing, but not close to the run I had with Gemini earlier on.
I wiped the vapour on the mirror, staring at my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help feeling so sentimental. I was identical to her, seeing my reflection was a constant reminder that I was a Santacruz. I was indeed my mother's daughter.
I traced my hands around the black onyx crystal pendant that hung on my neck, the same one my mom gave to me before she was killed. I never took it off, not even for a minute. I swore to never take it off because she wanted me to protect it. This was something she warned me my aunt Delilah would come for and I would be lying if I said that I wasn't curious to know what it was.
I remembered something Shota said back at casa la diabla. She asked me if I was experiencing any strange or weird dreams. When I answered her no she just stared at the pendant on my neck and warned me to be careful with it. I couldn't understand why she said why she did but the look I saw in her eyes was one of fear. She knew what this pendant meant and she was terrified of it.
I have done countless research to find out what this black crystal my mom gave me to protect was but there wasn't a single book that could tell me exactly what it was. It was as if someone made sure that there was no knowledge of it to ensure people don't come to find it. I knew it contained great amount of magic, the energy that surged within the crystal around my neck was strange and yet dark, I wondered what it could be. But I knew one thing for sure and that's whatever it contained was dangerous and dark.
I quickly got dressed, I needed to visit the witches quarters. I already got some special spell ingredients like lotus roots, hyacinths, goblin dust and others on my list to help fix my binding bracelet from casa la diabla. Now I needed to fix my bracelet and bind my powers to avoid drawing more creatures that want my head to the pack, somehow it felt like I had a duty to keep them safe too.
I strolled to the witches quarters located within the cemetery. No one was around when I let myself in, my eyes wandering around. They had so many magical ingredients and objects stored here, like; dragon's teeth, everroses, they even had a disappearing cabinet although it seemed broken down and over taken by dust. And there were countless ancient dusty spell books arranged on the shelves.
"Luna." I heard a female voice call out to me from a dark corner. It was Celeste, the pack's head witch. She walked up to me greeting me with a warm smile.
"Hi. Sorry I didn't notice someone were here." I said, being up close to the witch, she seemed far older than she looked, probably I was right and she was using a longevity spell to stop herself from aging. That was really cool, only a few witches had such powers to perform such powerful spells like that.
"Yes I just dropped by to check on something. What brings you around the witches quarters?" She inquired, I guess it was a bit odd that I was here.
"I came to gather some ingredients for a assembling spell." I told her honestly.
I watch as her eyes narrowed on my neck. "That's a peculiar pendant you have there, how did you get it?" She asked, her eyes fixed on the pendant that rested on my chest.
"It was a gift. My mom gave it to me to protect it." I briefly said, tucking the pendant underneath my shirt. "Do you know what it is?" I let out my curiosity.
"It's obviously not an ordinary heirloom, it seems to be forged with powerful ancient magic, a type of magic so strong enough to serve as a prison or a containment for something." She paused as if lost in her own thoughts. "It is beautiful, make sure you hold on tight to it." She smiles.
"I will. I have to leave now, it was nice seeing you Celeste." I quickly said as I left the cemetery, why did my mom give me this? More importantly, what was this prison meant to contain?
I needed to get back and be ready for Iris' pack initiation ceremony. The pack was having a huge bonfire party later tonight, Gemini tells me that it's gonna be fun as she helps me pick out what dress to wear.
"How about this one?" She held out a red, high slit dress. I shook my head. It was a beautiful dress but it felt too over the top for the occasion, and I was never really an admirei of the color red.
Ten dresses later,
"What about this?" She picked out a black dress which I completely agreed with. It wasn't too much or less, it just seemed perfect for the occasion.
"I like it Gem. It's really beautiful." I told her, taking the dress from her.
"Yay. Now get ready quickly, I'll meet you downstairs." She quickly left. After I got dressed, I joined the party downstairs. It was a full house with the entire pack. Iris was being introduced to her new pack by Lance. I was so happy for her, she finally found her mate and her home.
After lots of dancing and merriments, it was time to begin the initiation ritual. The initiation ritual was led by Dimitri. I watched as he cut his hand and bled into a goblet and then he handed it over to Iris who drank from it. She crumbled to the ground, with her bones snapping then she let out a howl, every other wolf in the pack soon followed. Now she was officially initiated into the Blood moon pack, she was now a member and connected to everyone through the pack link. She was given the red moon runic tattoo on her wrist.
The party continued outside around a big bonfire. The sounds of drums laughter were all I could hear as everyone was busy engaging in one conversation or the other.
"Can't you see that I need you like a fish needs a raincoat." I watch as Kael slurs in his desperate attempt to woo Stefanie, he hasn't given up yet on her since the pack training this morning and she loves to make him suffer.
I covered my mouth to stop myself from laughing too loud, but I couldn't help myself. That had to be one of the worst pick up lines I've ever heard.
"Kael go find someone else to annoy, please." Stefanie sighs walking away from the clearly drunk wolf. I think they look good together though.
I was sitting on a log watching everyone quietly as they all partied. I noticed Dimitri walking off into the woods, so I decided to follow him.
I found him sitting on a huge rock, close to the edge of a cliff, looking at the moon that waned in delight.
He looked beautiful under the moonlight, his skin glittered and every black hair fell in perfect place.
"Wow, what a beautiful view." I said, joining him on the rock.
"I can't tell if you are talking about the moon or about me?" He asked about being overly cocky.
"Egoistic much?" I scoffed, "The entire pack is busy partying while the great lycan Alpha Dimitri is busy sulking alone, that doesn't seem fair."
"The great lycan Alpha? I like that one." he quipped." And I'm not sulking. I come to stare at the moon when I need to clear my mind and think." Dimitri sighs, as he pulls his bottom lip in and chews on it for a second
"And tell me what is it that's on your mind?" I insisted.
"You." He states turning to look at me. "I don't know what to do about you Isabelle. But I don't know why Fate is being so cruel to me." I could see the pain that dwelled in his hazel eyes, he was in great agony and it hurt me that I didn't know what to do to help.
"I don't want to hurt you Isabelle." He said, placing his hands on my neck, his voice cracking a bit. This was the most vulnerable I have ever seen him.
"You won't, I promise." I assured him, I knew fully well that he was unable to hurt me. I trusted Dimitri wholeheartedly with my life.
"Fate is a very funny thing." Dimitri whispers, bridging the gap between us.
He leans down and captures his lips in mine, his lips were hard but the kiss was so gentle as if he was afraid to hurt me. The kiss felt long and passionate as he tugs me closer to him with his hand at the back of my hair.
I couldn't breathe, I couldn't think, I couldn't even look at him. I placed a hand on my beating heart to take a breath but I couldn't because Dimitri was kissing me so passionately. I could feel every emotion coming from him. His pain, his anger, his fear, his lust, his agony and his desires. I could feel everything now.
I close my eyes giving him access, and the next thing I know is that he shoves his tongue into my mouth. His tongue teases mine and explores the new territory, so slowly that it makes me almost moan. Almost.
But he continues kissing me, and everything feels good and sweet in my mouth. I don't think that I'll be able to hold back my moan for a long time. He presses his tongue into my mouth, I inhale through my nose as the kiss turns really passionate and intense.
"Dimitri," His name escapes my mouth, barely a whisper. I no longer can hold my moans back. I felt like I was on cloud nine against his warm chest. His perfect chiseled chest, I could hear the sound of his heart beat racing, in complete sync with mine.
Suddenly he pulls away, leaving me heaving like my life depended on it. "Dimitri." I breathed out hesitantly looking up at him as he stood backing me. I couldn't understand why he was stopping?
"We shouldn't have done that." He just said with a soft sigh as if what had just happen was an apocalyptic mistake.
"No Dimitri, I wanted this." I state, hoping it helps the situation. If we both felt the same way what was standing in the way of me and him.
"This was a mistake, nothing more. It meant nothing!" My heart sinks at his words. In an instant he was gone almost like he disappeared, leaving me lying in my ruins under the moonlight.
