Nightmare realm
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Isabella's Point Of View
I awoke in the middle of a bloody forest. What was I doing here?
I tried standing up but my head hurt as fuck. It was as though I got run over by a bloody rhino. My body ached all over and I felt so weak.
My heart clenches, as my last memories start flooding me.
I had just finished sparring with Dimitri and he and I almost gave in to our desires. I went into my room and there was a stranger waiting for me.
Saerah, the creepy old lady. She attacked me.
I remember her saying something creepy to me before she made me fall asleep. Her crooked smile was the last thing I remember before waking up here. Wherever here was.
A gasp escapes my lips as I realize I was hanging upside down in this world. There in the dark sky hung three gibbous red moons. Where in bloody hell was I? I began hyperventilating as my nervousness kicked in. What world was this?
"Dimitri?!" I called out desperately. He was the only one I had to protect me. I remembered how he protected me from Stefan, how he carried me in his arms and how he saved me from Alectryon, twice. He was the first person to look at me with a protective look in his eyes. Like he would kill anybody that dared to touch me. He was the man with the butterfly tattoo, that makes him the one my mother spoke about that would protect me and help fulfill my destiny.
I needed him right now. But my calls fell on deaf ears as no one was coming.
"CATCH HER!!!" I heard a woman's voice yell from a distance. I quickly ran to where the sound came from. I saw a gathered crowd of witches, vampires and werewolves. They were gathered and surrounded by a woman in a black cloak. I couldn't fully see the cloaked woman's face but she looked pretty young, probably in her early thirties. Why were they all after her?
Something was wrong, I felt like I've repeatedly watched this scene from somewhere. Yes, I remember seeing this in my nightmares when I was a child but I couldn't understand why. I could never understand why this haunted my memories ever since I was a kid. I never knew what it meant or why I was having such dreams. Whenever I tell mother she always dismisses them as nothing more than a nightmare but I knew it was more than a little nightmare.
"How could you do this Namek? You committed grave crimes; killed innocents, started wars and all for what? More power? How could you do this to your own people." The other woman spoke. I noticed on her wrist was a symbol of a black rose. These witches were members of the black Rose coven.
What was really going on here?
"Oh sweet mother. Don't act like you love me now, you never once cared about me. You aren't my people. And now I have found a means to claim all the power in the world! I am Namek of Gadot! The darkness that knows no end." The cloaked figure stared at me with glowing green eyes.
"You cannot stop me!" The cloaked figure spoke, making me jump and my skin to crawl. It wasn't because I was afraid but because I now saw her face clearly.
The cloaked figure was me or at least someone that looks like me. How was this possible?
"Everyone attack her!" The other woman chorused, commanding everyone to attack her own daughter, Namek.
The vampire and werewolves all ran with notable speed to attack but they were simply stopped with a wave of her hand.
The witches stood in awe and fear was evident in all of their faces. They didn't expect the powers of Namek to be this strong.
"Vetillo umar ne ga en fuego." In a blink of an eye as she finished chanting her spell, all the witches suddenly caught up in flames. Their screams echoed into the night as they were burnt alive. Lastly Namek stared at her mother and on cue, she also caught fire.
Namek let out an evil laughter that made me shudder. How could she be so evil, with my face? What was this memory? What did all this mean?
When I look back at Namek I catch her staring at me with a wide smile. She could see me and so could every vampire and werewolf. They glared at me with angry and hungry eyes.
"Everyone! Kill the chosen one!!!" Namek gritted out, and with a growl every vampire charged at me.
A loud and terrifying howl erupted in the sky. A huge black fur wolf lunged at me from behind. Just in time before the black wolf succeeded in its attack against me, I spun around. In an instant I grabbed a wooden stake and struck at the head of the flying wolf, ripping its head from its body clean. In a loud thud, the wolf body hit the ground.
Thick red blood splashed, some blood splattered on my face and lips. I watched breathlessly as more werewolves and vampires approached me.
I could see sharp fangs protrude from Namek's mouth as lines of red veins stretched across her neck. She wasn't just a witch. She was a vampire.
"Kill the moon goddess chosen one!" Namek growled, ordering the vampires to attack. I began to run into the woods and they all chased me.
I continued running deeper into the forest, the three red moons being the only source of light, they all waned in delight. More vampires arrived, they all surrounded me, all attacking me at once. I held tightly to the dagger in her hand as I weaved and dodged the attacks thrown from the wolves.
In swift strokes, several heads rolled to the floor. I was really fast. Another gray wolf lunged for me in the air, a wild smirk met my lips as I used my magic to explode the wolf. His guts and blood rained from the sky.
I kept running until I met a dead end.
"Fuck!"
I was doomed. I needed to find a way to escape this world. I kicked at my feet to move. I quickly turn around to run but instead I'm met face to face with Namek, her face was covered in blood, with red criss crossed veins shooting across her face to each corner.
She doesn't say anything this time, she just stares at me with a bloody smile. Then she shrieked, attacking me with her sharp claws.
She struck at my face, I quickly lifted my hand up to shield me. I felt a painful sting, as blood flowed down my arm. Her eyes were fixed on the blood that dripped from my hand, I lifted my hand to stop the bleeding.
Namek stared at my neck as it pulsed, she took a step forward, towards me. I equally took one backwards.
She snarled, revealing long fangs as she attacked, I quickly kicked her back as I sprinted away, deeper into the woods.
I heard her growl as she chased me at full speed.
I stopped somewhere in the woods.
I think I lost her. I couldn't hear her anymore, she was just gone.
'Something feels wrong.' the voice in my head says,
'What is?' I ask her back.
'I can feel great danger coming. Isabella, it is a trap!' the voice screams at me. That was when I heard snarling coming from behind me. I turned around to see a viscous brown wolf.
"Oh shit!" I yelp.
He lunged at me, pinning me firm against the grass. I let out a painful grunt as he bit on my back. I kicked the brown wolf off me, diving my dagger into his throat with everything I had in me. It whined in honest pain as I severed its head off.
I growl, as I see more wolves coming out, eying me like an easy prey. I see other vampires come out.
I lunged at a vampire angrily, both of us clashing in mid sky. I dodged his sharp claws, slamming my dagger into his heart. He lands on the ground, bleeding.
I land on my feet, surprisingly unarmed. I looked in his eyes and I knew I surprised him too. His eyes showed fear, as he finally drew his last breath.
Before I could turn around, suddenly I was shoved into a tree, I felt weak, as my head throbbed in pain.
I looked up to catch Namek's green eyes watching me, she had found me.
I quickly took on my heels as she pursued after me. She was catching up to me as she was much faster.
She jumped landing atop me, I screamed in response as we both tumbled in the damp earth.
I let out another painful cry as she bit on my neck, feeding on me.
I felt delirious, as I fell into a daze. I gripped on her tight, trying to somehow get her off me but she was unmoved.
'I can't die now. Not like this, in a dream world. Not when I haven't broken Dimitri and the pack's curse. I needed to live.
Moon goddess, please help me.' I prayed, as I started to feel my life fleeing from me.
I heard a large growl erupt in the sky, shaking the ground and everything around.
"Isabella!" A voice growls.
Immediately the woman was thrown off me. I breathe faintly as I look at who it was that came in my rescue. I gazed at my savior. It was Dimitri. But was it really him, or just my delirious mind playing a cruel joke on
"Isabella," he says to me, trying to call me out of my delirium. I placed my hand on the face of my mate.
"Dimitri? Is that really you? Did you come to save me." I asked, struggling to find my voice.
I watch as he bites his palm, his thick red blood flowing out. He placed his bloody palm in my mouth so I would drink it. At first I resisted, but he was adamant, forcing his blood into my mouth and I obliged.
"Yes Isabella, it's me. Drink." He tells me with assurance in his voice, and I quietly obey, sucking and drinking his blood like my life depended on it.
Once I got the metallic taste of his blood on my tongue, I couldn't stop. It was like there was a burning hunger within me, a sweet tooth I never knew I even possessed, one that craved blood. Particularly Dimitri's, the sensation was exciting. I could feel my wounds begin to heal and my bones starting to align in perfect place. His blood was healing me.
I heard snarling and growling from all around us. I slowly take a look around. We were surrounded. Fierce looking wolves and vampires emerged from each corner of the forest, they had hungry looking eyes, as they growled and snarled at us angrily.
"Fuck!" Dimitri curses under his breath, not removing his gaze from the vicious wolves. Dimitri started counting the numbers of our assailants.
I heard a hissing sound. It was Namek, who fed on me. Her long fingernails snapped.
I yelp, gripping Dimitri's arms fearfully.
I stood up with him, standing behind him. He released a terrifying growl, causing everyone to fall silent. I could hear the sound of his bones snap and rearrange, his eyes changing to red, like burning hot coals, they glowed.
"Dimitri," I called him softly and he held me tightly to him.
"Don't worry Isabella. None of these bastards are going to lay a finger on you. I will protect you!" He says assuringly. Almost on cue, the vampires and werewolves lunged at us from every corner.
It was pure pandemonium with blood spilling everywhere and heads rolling. Dimitri let out another roar as he ripped a werewolf in split half. He kept fighting and it seemed as though more and more just kept on coming.
Dimitri grabbed hold of a vampire, ripping out its bloody heart. More vampires lunged at him and in a twist, he decapitated them.
I wanted to help him out, although it didn't seem like he needed my help at all, but I was still weak, I wasn't strong enough to even cast a spell right now.
"Dimitri!" I screamed, as a huge gray wolf lunged at him. He quickly caught the wolf, biting its head off. He continued fighting.
I looked beside me and another black wolf was lunging at me and just as he was about to bite me, Dimitri quickly got in between us, holding his jaws apart with his bare hands.
Dimitri smiled as he watched the wolf's eyes lit up with fear. Dimitri began pulling his jaws wide apart, until we heard the sound of the wolf jaws snapping apart, leaving him dead.
Every werewolf paused as they stared at the scene with utter horror. Dimitri stood there in the middle of the moonlights, all drenched and covered in blood.
"Let's finish this, shall we?" He said to the wolves, they all agreed as they lunged all at the same time at Dimitri and I.
We were surely doomed now
With a blink of an eye, Dimitri vanished and appeared to each and every wolf and vampire, twisting their necks before they could even breathe, and they all fell to the ground dead simultaneously, with their necks twisted at odd angles.
I gaze at the pool of dead wolves that Dimitri managed to kill singlehandedly in astonishment. He was able to kill them all in an instant. I felt scared and at the same time astonished that all the werewolves and vampires were dead, but at the same time I was scared. I wasn't aware of how powerful Dimitri was. I guess I should have been expecting he was this powerful, he was the Blood Alpha after all; the last lycan. He was the most powerful creature in the entire supernatural history.
I remember stories I heard about the ruthless alpha Dimitri of the Blood Moon pack, he was also known as the Blood Alpha, the destroyer of packs. No wonder every pack feared and respected him.
"Isabella! Isabella get up, we don't have much time before the doorway is closed, then we will be stuck in here forever." Dimitri says helping me get on my feet.
"Can you walk?" He asks me, his eyes scanning me. I replied to him with a nod.
"Let's get out of here." He runs, with his hands in mine tagging me along.
Before I knew it, Dimitri was thrown far into a tree. I turned around to find the old lady, the one who was responsible for putting me in this nightmare. Saerah.
"Leaving without saying goodbye Dimitri? Why don't we play some more." She said, causing Dimitri to fall on his knees, with his arms wide apart as he grunted trying to move but he couldn't, it was as if he was held down by thousands of invincible hands.
"I'm afraid I can't allow you or your mate to leave here alive. I was promised the girl but when I discovered she was your mate, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get your soul too. I will be the one to finally claim the immortal lycan soul." She laughs evilly. She just confirmed my thoughts. Someone sent her here to kill me.
Who was it? Was it my Aunt? She is the only one I knew who wanted me dead.
I growled, speeding to rip Saerah's head off but instead I was attacked by Namek.
I groaned, struggling to escape her tight clutch but it was just futile.
"Don't be so impatient Isabella, I'll kill you too slowly, but painfully." She erupts in another laughter. I stared into the face of the woman that looked like me, her green eyes glowing.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on her, or you will regret it!" My eyes stare at Dimitri in shock. "I promise you Saetani. if you harm her I'm going to rip you apart!" He threatens her, with murder in his eyes. I could sense the rage in his voice, he was telling the truth.
Saerah looks at him, her smile faded. She approached him.
"Isn't this such a beautiful moment? Dimitri is finally exposing his true feelings for his mate. I thought you hated her but now you are even willing to risk your life for her." Saerah cackled.
"Shut up!" Dimitri roared in anger. "I'm going to kill you, let the moon and the wind beat me witness. This is my promise to you Saetani!" He said with a menacing glare. His eyes looked like fire. They were burning.
"Impatient to die, aren't you? Very well then, I'll grant you your wish!" Saerah said, raising her long nails at Dimitri.
"No." I say watching as she raised her claws at my mate.
"No!!!" I screamed, causing a rift to create on the ground. Before she could strike, my screams sent Saetani flying away to the ground.
In the midst of the turnover, I sliced at the arm of Namek, quickly picking up a wooden stake and diving the stake into her heart, leaving it there.
She shrieked and snarled at me as her skin slowly desiccated into a dried corpse. Her green eyes were fixed on the onyx pendant on my neck. I look at her wrist and I see the same crystal as my pendant with her. Why did she have my identical pendant on her wrist?
"You think you got rid of me!? I will be back and my Darkness will consume you!" She says faintly before falling to the ground. I was stunned by her words. What did she mean?
I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and remembered that we weren't out of the woods yet. Saetani was still on the ground. I noticed that her hold on Dimitri was gone.
Dimitri mounted on his feet as he approached Saetani's frail form laid on the floor in utter shock, she quickly struggled to get up on her feet.
The skies began to rumble angrily, with tremendous wind blowing.
"What is this? This isn't your world, you have no power over here." Saetani said, her eyes wide in disbelief. I also couldn't believe what was happening.
The world seemed to be changing. For beginners the three red moons were distorting and merging into one blue moon, changing color to a bright blue moon. The up side down world we came into was flipping back to normal. It was as if Dimitri was resetting the nightmare realm, back into reality.
"Afraid? You should be. It's high time we put an end to all these nightmares of yours, don't you agree?" Dimitri replied, with his magnificent smirk set in place on his lips.
"No!" Saetani screamed, running towards me with a dagger.
"Return to dust!!!" Dimitri roared, and just in time before she could get a hold of me, the skies gave way and a thunderous lightning struck Saetani, turning her into a pile of ash.
I heaved a breath of relief. Dimitri's strong hands quickly got hold of mine.
"The doorway is about to close, we need to run Isabella." Dimitri tells me, as we start running towards a thin white light that seems to grow thinner with every passing second. If the doorway to the waking world closed, Dimitri and I would be stuck in the nightmare world forever. We needed to make it out before the portal closed.
Just in the nick of time, we manage to both cross through it before it finally shuts.
I let out a loud gasp, my eyes shooting open. My eyes adjusted to the crowd gathered in my room. There was Gabe, Iris, Lance, Gemini Celeste and the pack's healer. I didn't really know her, I just saw her around the pack.
"Oh my God, Isabella!" Gabe said, sounding relieved.
I quickly looked at Dimitri that sat besides me, he hadn't opened his eyes yet. Why hasn't he woken up yet? We went through the portal together. Panic takes hold of me.
"Dimitri!" I say, shaking him but he was still stiff. His skin was ice cold, his face pale white. He was gone.
